Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 445: Chapter 274: Guests Arrive (Part 2)

Wei Ziang explained, then glanced at the people behind Wang Fu: ”Uncle Wang, are these guests here to eat?”

Wang Fu nodded and called to the people behind him: ”Please select the vegetables you’d like to add here first, then sit for a while. Our assistant went out for errands, he’ll be back soon.”

As for Master Wang, he only had time to greet before heading to the kitchen.

The two pounds of noodles soaked earlier were clearly not enough; he needed to soak the rest quickly, estimating that they would all sell out.

Xiaomi glanced around: ”Uncle Wang, we should buy some small baskets, the kind made from bamboo, just for guests to place their vegetables.”

While speaking, she gestured the shape of the vegetable basket, a rectangular model, about three inches in height.

Jiang Hu, not as eloquent as Wang Fu, directly led a few people in, telling them to choose the vegetables they wanted first, so he could bring them in for the chef to cook.

At this moment, Second Aunt brought out a pot of water but stopped at the entrance, seeing so many people outside.

”Manager Wang, I brewed some mint tea.”

The mint was the one Xiaomi and Wei Ziang dug up from the mountain, and in less than half a month, it had grown quite lush.

Manager Wang quickly stepped forward to receive it: ”Thanks for the trouble, sister-in-law.”

Second Aunt smiled, indicating it was no problem: ”This is brewed strong with boiling water, then poured into cool boiled water, and some chilled ice was added inside, very refreshing for this hot weather.”

This method was taught by Xiaomi back at home.

Sometimes when wanting a drink, but there was no cool boiled water, Xiaomi would throw a piece of ice into the hot water, and soon the hot water would turn cool.

Manager Wang felt the pot surface, the copper pot was cold, indicating that the iced mint water was indeed very cool.

”Thanks.”

Manager Wang then personally went to pour water for several guests.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi squeezed past her dad, explaining to the guests that they could choose what they wanted to eat, each portion of noodles allowing three free servings of vegetables.

If you add on, pork belly is one copper coin per skewer, while regular vegetables are one copper coin for three skewers.

A pound of pork belly, cut fairly thick, two slices per skewer, yields about twenty skewers, with seasonings added, earning only five or six copper coins per pound.

Vegetables, based on cost price, vary in quantity per skewer; more for cheaper ones and less for pricier ones.

Generally, a pound of vegetables can earn seven or eight copper coins.

However, regardless, the vegetable quantity is larger, in terms of filling the stomach, a few skewers of vegetables definitely fill more than a skewer of meat.

Xiaomi, being a child, is cute and sweet when smiling; although she spoke simply, everyone understood immediately.

Once everyone chose their vegetables, Wei Ziang had already brought over a clean small basket, while Jiang Hu placed their vegetables separately to avoid confusion, then carried them to the back kitchen.

Wang Fu poured each of them a cup of cool mint tea, surprising them greatly.

Not to mention poor people wouldn’t dare rent saltpeter, hence couldn’t enjoy the ice; just the taste of mint itself was entirely pleasing.

Not that mint water was particularly tasty, but a sip of mint water left a lingering mint flavor in the throat, as if constantly releasing coolness.

Especially refreshing!

After a short while, two assistants returned, and Wang Fu quickly briefed them on the important points, such as guests ordering dishes, while Xiaomi and Wei Ziang naturally headed back.

Liu Ze and Jiang Yu were still studying; although it was lively outside, it did not disturb them.

Xiaomi had to admit, she was quite impressed by this, as these two brothers could completely block out external noises while studying and only pay attention after study time ended.

From this aspect alone, it’s apparent that even if they don’t achieve top scholar status, they’ll surely make their mark on this path.

In the kitchen, several servings of spicy hotpot were just cooked; on the other side, Wang Fu led an assistant in, signaling the assistant to serve the hotpot, then asked Jiang Hu.

”Brother Jiang, I need to visit the market. Now that you and Sister-in-law haven’t gone out either, want to come along?”

The wooden basins bought earlier were from a shop not far from next door, so strictly speaking, apart from Xiaomi and Wei Ziang, the others hadn’t left this street yet.

”Sure, I’ll help carry out these few leftover noodles.”

A tray carried two bowls of noodles, while that assistant entered the kitchen once and directly carried out four bowls steadily without spilling a drop of soup!

Making Xiaomi quite amazed.

Wang Fu turned to call Second Aunt and Xiao Xue, while Xiaomi and Wei Ziang weren’t planning on going out.

”I originally promised to take you around the city today, didn’t expect to get so busy.”

Wang Fu felt a bit apologetic.

”It’s alright, we’ll be here for a while, plenty of time to explore later.”

They were in Fuzhou, planning to stay at least a month before returning.

Then Wang Fu took Jiang Hu, Second Aunt, and Xiao Xue out, thoughtfully bringing oil-paper umbrellas for the two ladies.

As for Xiaomi, she started experimenting with mint with Wei Ziang.

Today’s mint iced tea was evidently popular, plus mint inherently has cooling and calming effects, promotes digestion, and even repels mosquitoes.

So Xiaomi planned to grow more mint.

Don’t underestimate mint’s growth ability; if planted in the ground, it can quickly form a mint hedge.

Nevertheless, Xiaomi found mint’s natural growth too slow, deciding to propagate herself!

The backyard had two small flower beds, along with the assistant finding a small hoe, they loosened the flower bed soil, then watered it.

Since the water was drawn by Wei Ziang who did the watering, there was no way to cheat, only wait for next time.

Then she cut some slightly older mint branches and directly planted them into the soil.

”Xiaomi, can this really grow big?” Wei Ziang expressed some doubts.

”Rest assured, it definitely can, look at how sweet potatoes are planted similarly.” Later, she planned to water with Spiritual Spring water to ensure excellent and quick growth!

”That’s true.” Wei Ziang momentarily agreed with this notion.

Shortly after, a large bundle of sweet potato noodles was delivered, realizing Wang Fu and the others had gone to buy other things.
