Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 435: Chapter 268: The Not-So-Small Small Restaurant

The place covers more than a hundred square meters, and it’s still a two-story building, with a kitchen and a small courtyard in the back.

Calling it a small courtyard, but if it were in the countryside, at the very least, only wealthy families could afford to build it, let alone this is the backyard of a shop within Fuzhou City!

Seeing everyone’s surprised and puzzled expressions, Wang Fu had to explain.

”Actually, on these one or two streets, it’s all poor people living here. Although it’s a shop, the price is cheap, and most of the customers are these working folks. It doesn’t make money; it might even incur losses.”

The ones who led the horse-drawn cart and ox cart first were the two little assistants of the ’small restaurant.’

This small restaurant has only four people: one is Wang Fu, the shopkeeper; one chef, who is busy preparing their lunch; two little assistants are helping unload goods.

The drivers of the ox cart and horse cart were also sent by Madam Liu.

The journey from Cheng County to Fuzhou is long; they don’t need to return now. They will wait for the two young masters to finish their exams and then take everyone back together.

”Actually, as long as you do it right, small businesses can make a lot of money.”

While heading to the backyard, Xiao Mi looked around the small restaurant and couldn’t help but say.

Such a good location, just a hundred meters or so from the city gate. They already saw groups of laborers waiting for work earlier.

Those who left before were soon replaced by others; the flow of people virtually never stopped.

As long as there are people, business can be made, just depends on how to do it.

Xiao Mi’s voice wasn’t low; Wang Fu heard it and looked at Xiao Mi with some surprise.

He was very familiar with the Jiang family and knew Xiao Mi was recognized as the Little Lucky Star of the ten-mile-eight-village around Fu’an Village.

After the Jiang family moved to Xiangmu Village, higher authorities demanded all who knew about it to keep it tight-lipped.

Even those who used to frequent Lai Fu’an Village with him or knew where the Jiang family moved to were reassigned to other places.

If it weren’t for the two young masters’ examination this time, he probably wouldn’t see the Jiang family again.

Wang Fu wasn’t foolish; he gained Madam Liu’s trust and was specially dispatched to Fuzhou to take the lead, with leniency in both money and time.

Now entrusted by the lady to take care of the second young master and the Jiang family, he naturally wouldn’t betray the master’s and madam’s trust.

Nevertheless, it didn’t mean he had forgotten Little Lucky Star’s identity.

So when Wang Fu heard Xiao Mi’s words, instead of thinking she was boasting nonsense, he seriously asked.

”Miss Xiao Mi, do you have any ideas?”

Wang Fu’s earnest question made Xiao Mi pause, and then she wrinkled her nose, seriously pondering.

”Uncle Wang, wait a minute, let me think it over, there is surely a way to make money.”

Wang Fu chuckled ”Sure, I’ll be waiting.”

Speaking, they arrived at the backyard: ”There just happen to be a few empty rooms, but we’ll have to ask everyone to accommodate two people in one room.”

Since they knew in advance who was coming, the rooms were prepared, but due to limited resources, it would have to be this way for now.

Jiang Hu and his wife had one room, two girls shared one room, Wei Ziang and Jiang Wei shared one, and another for the other two taking exams.

Jiang Yu and Liu Ze’s room was slightly larger, furnished with bookshelves and desks for their studies during this period, and it was the coolest room, almost never getting sun except in the morning.

Once everyone settled in, lunch was ready. It wasn’t anything extravagant, just some light dishes with a bowl of veggie porridge, yet it was the most satisfactory meal they had in a while.

After a long journey, finally reaching the destination, the mood was lifted; the place was satisfying and familiar faces present, wasn’t it perfect?

The only one distracted, probably just Xiao Mi.

After lunch, everyone planned to take a nap first, and in the cooler afternoon, Wang Fu would take them out to walk around and get familiar with the surroundings.

Wei Ziang lagged behind, walking with the last one, Xiao Mi: ”What’s up with you? Thinking about the question Uncle Wang asked, right?”

During mealtime just now, he noticed Xiao Mi was lost in thought; she usually actively participated in conversations, but today even when asked, she’d only reply occasionally.

Xiao Mi nodded ”Yes, I’m thinking about what could make this business thrive.”

Not only must it thrive, but it shouldn’t be too noticeable.

It can’t be a highly profitable business; otherwise, it would catch others’ eyes, and if Uncle Wang were new to the area, with little reputation, it might easily get crushed.
