Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 414: Chapter 260: Summer (Part 2)

Walking out from the back of the kitchen, in a few steps I saw Liu Bo by the water pond.

”Grandpa Liu, why are you fishing here today?”

By the water pond grew a large cypress tree, under which Liu Bo sat with a very short fishing rod. Beside him was a large wooden basin, occasionally making water sounds.

”I’ve found that the fish in this pond seem to taste better.”

As he spoke, the float moved slightly, and with a lift of the rod, Liu Bo pulled up a hand-sized crucian carp.

”Your Auntie’s sister is pregnant and said she wanted to eat fish from our place, so here I am, fishing.”

Liu Bo took the crucian carp off and placed it in the wooden basin, then threw the hook back into the pond before taking the ice slush Xiao Mi handed over: ”Oh, it’s ready. Thank you, Xiao Mi.”

Liu Bo, being older, had his ice slush portion strictly controlled, with only half a bowl, even less than Xiao Mi’s.

But Liu Bo didn’t mind. Eating less was eating less; on rainy days, he wouldn’t eat it at all, being particularly mindful about his health.

The big wooden basin for the fish was covered with a bamboo sieve. Xiao Mi curiously uncovered a small gap, only able to see the black backs of the fish.

”Wow, so many crucian carps! Grandpa Liu, you’re amazing, catching so many in an afternoon.”

As she spoke, she reached in, attempting to catch a fish but actually adding some Spiritual Spring water.

Most were crucian carps, which survive easily, but other fish don’t have the vitality of crucian carps.

”It’s not me who’s amazing; it’s the worms your mom and dad raise, hardly ever missing a catch!” Liu Bo laughed while eating the ice slush: ”But I didn’t expect so many fish in this pond.”

The pond wasn’t deep, nor was the water murky, but with water hyacinths and duckweed on the surface, it was impossible to see below.

All that was known was that there were fish inside, but no specifics.

”Yes, so many fish!” Xiao Mi casually agreed.

The pond had the most crucian carps, as they reproduce quickly. She also put in some crucian carps from her space, along with eels and loaches.

The things in the space were considered optimized varieties, and integrating them with the outside could improve the entire breed.

Just like the various seeds she took from the space before, through the baptism of Spiritual Energy, after several generations of reproduction, their yield hadn’t decreased.

As for why this small pond had so many fish, it was naturally due to the Spiritual Spring water.

Some of the village’s water canals have sources almost from here. She only needed to add Spiritual Spring water here every day, and the fish would naturally grow well.

Moreover, this Spiritual Spring water could also benefit the entire village’s crops.

Of course, the water flow never stops. If some crops were unlucky and the diluted Spiritual Spring water flowed far away, it couldn’t be blamed on her.

Furthermore, various fish were also raised in the home pond, and turtles were laying eggs, seemingly about to hatch.

Besides, beside the pavilion, lotus leaves grew densely, and lotus flowers were in full bloom. Xiao Mi would occasionally add some Spiritual Spring water too.

And the household pond was connected to this water pond.

The sound of a horse’s neigh rang out, and Xiao Mi jumped up: ”They’re back, they’re back, my brother and the others are back.”

Liu Bo also stood up with the bean jelly, calling out to the other side: ”Qi Xi, come over and move some things.”

”Coming, old master.”

Qi Xi put down the water bucket on the ground and came over.

The pigsty was only about twenty meters in a straight line from the pond, and for feeding the pigs, water was drawn directly from the pond. For this reason, a stone ladder was specifically built by the pond.

In the afternoon, Qi Xi and Jiang Hu were pulling pigweed in the fields. After returning, Jiang Hu went home first, and Qi Xi went to draw water to feed the pigs.

Jiang Hu came over as well, lifting the wooden basin with Qi Xi: ”I made a few bowls of ice slush earlier, go and get yourself one, in this hot weather, it’ll help cool you down.”

”Alright, thank you, Jiang Bro.”

Carrying the wooden basin to the front, the carriage happened to arrive home. After a few kids got down, the two of them together hoisted the wooden basin onto it.

At this time, Second Madam also came out, with a bamboo basket in one hand and a food box in the other, followed by Aunt Yang, who was holding a beautiful porcelain jar.

The bamboo basket contained a few lotus flowers, some in bud, some still just buds.

”These are some foods made with lotus flowers. They taste quite good. I just made them and brought them for your master and mistress.”

”I asked Xiao Mi to write down the recipes. They’re all in the basket, so your cook can make them too.”
