Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 402: Chapter 256: A Strange Feeling

Although there are no thorns left and there’s no point in picking them, she knows Xiaomi likes playing in the mountains, and she, like Wei Ziang, can hunt.

After taking a rest for a few days, and after talking to her parents, Xiaocao came looking for her again.

Wei Ziang had already finished his vacation and went back to school with peace of mind. Before he left, the only thing he reminded Xiaomi of was to remember to bring her bow and arrows while going up the mountain and to catch some game home!

Xiaomi understood!

”Xiaomi, Xiaomi, are you at home?”

Xiaomi was practicing archery, having practiced swordsmanship for half an hour in the morning, then began archery practice.

After not practicing for months, her aim had regressed. She had just regained her previous feel; though not hitting the bullseye, she wasn’t far off.

While practicing, Xiao Hei suddenly started barking loudly towards the study.

”What’s Xiao Hei barking at?” Xiaomi had to stop her practice.

If nothing’s wrong, Xiao Hei wouldn’t bark.

Just as she ran over, someone was calling her; it was Zhang Xiaocao.

She quickly ran a few steps to the study side, with only a wall separating her from the outside.

”Xiaocao, is that you?”

”Yes, yes, it’s me. Xiaomi, what are you doing? I’ve been calling you for a long time. Do you want to go play on the mountain today?”

”Come around to the back first, I’ll open the door for you.”

Shouting through the wall was straining her voice.

The two girls quickly met up. Xiaomi poured her a glass of water: ”There’s no more thorns now. What are we going to do on the mountain?”

Xiaocao replied, ”Don’t you want to hunt? I’ll accompany you, but we can’t go too deep, just up to the two mountains near the village.”

The distance between these two mountains is the area she knows best; too far and safety can’t be guaranteed.

Xiaomi was instantly tempted: ”Really? Great, I was just worried no one would go with me!”

The pigpen was even larger than she thought. After being busy for so long, they had only just started roofing, so her dad couldn’t accompany her up the mountain anytime soon.

Originally, Wei Ziang wanted to stay a few more days, waiting for Jiang Hu to finish his work before going to the academy.

But Zhang An had been avoiding them recently, probably knowing he was embarrassed, and likely wouldn’t come looking for Xiaomi anymore. So Xiaomi rejected him and let Wei Ziang go back to school first.

After all, she’s different from others; she can’t take the imperial exam and naturally has no need to go to school. Reading and writing aren’t difficult for her.

The arts girls learn, like music, chess, calligraphy, or embroidery and needlework, don’t interest her; she doesn’t want to learn them.

Instead, she’d rather practice martial arts diligently and travel the world when she grows up.

And now, what she wants to do most is to grow up quickly. In two or three more years, her parents wouldn’t be so worried about her and she’d be free to come and go to Cheng County.

Xiaomi’s biggest issue right now is that she’s too young. Her parents worry no matter what she does, let alone allowing her to go to the city alone.

She discovered a small path that avoids the village’s sightlines, leading to the city from another direction, but the journey is long, and a round trip takes a lot of time.

Add in the time she fainted on the mountain for a whole day and then was bedridden for half a month, her parents wouldn’t let her go up the mountain alone anymore.

Thus, using that path to get to the city was basically impossible.

Poor her, with a space full of treasures, unable to convert them to money.

Moreover, the number of chickens, ducks, geese, and rabbits at home hasn’t expanded, and even feeding Spiritual Spring water doesn’t take much of her time each day.

So now, hearing Xiaocao say she’d accompany her up the mountain, she was instantly energized.

”Great, I thought without the thorns, you’d stay home and work.”

Though replanting is over, the wild grass and such have grown again in the fields.

Some crops previously planted need watering, and the sweet potato vines have sprouted. It’s time to prepare the land for sweet potato planting next month.

Their family doesn’t worry because her dad said to leave it to him. Once the pigpen is done, he’d hire help, so Xiaomi naturally doesn’t need to concern herself with these things.

But other villagers are busy every day like a raging fire.

”Hehe, actually, there’s not much to do at home. I knew you’d be bored alone at home, so I came specifically to find you.”

Xiaomi helped her family earn a lot of money this time, so she’s been purposely coming to find Xiaomi and play with her!

”Great, then wait a second, I’ll grab some things, and we’ll head out!”
