Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 394: Chapter 254: Deliberate

”Then before we leave, let’s tell Aunt so she won’t worry at noon.”

”What do you need to tell me?” Just as they were speaking, Erniang returned from outside, carrying a vegetable basket.

”Mom, why are you back so early today? I was telling my brother about not coming back for lunch.”

Then Erniang took a few preserved eggs out of the basket: ”Mom, did you go to the town?”

”No?” Erniang shook her head, saw Xiaomi’s gaze, and smiled: ”Are you talking about these? They were given by Xiaocao’s mom, and there are a few salted duck eggs too.”

Just a few, five preserved eggs and five salted duck eggs, to thank for the half roast rabbit and that rice ball from yesterday.

”By the way, I made a lot of steamed buns today, if you’re going up the mountain, take a few more, and remember not to go too far, don’t forget the medicine bags to repel insects.”

This meant they had permission to have lunch on the mountain and come back in the afternoon.

”Don’t worry mom, we know.”

Today’s steamed buns were made with refined flour mixed with cornmeal, with a strong corn aroma, and inside was a soft honeycomb texture that made one’s mouth water.

One bun, a bowl of porridge, and a boiled egg — this breakfast was enough.

Erniang left after setting down the eggs, and Xiaomi, satisfied from eating, practiced her swordsmanship for a while.

Estimating it was about time, she called Xiaohei and went out with Wei Ziang.

Fortunately, this time Zhang Yuan didn’t tag along, much to Xiaomi’s relief.

But Xiaomi quickly put the matter of Zhang Yuan behind. Going up the mountain was more important.

Actually, Xiaomi wasn’t too concerned about the Dragon Fragrance Grass; she just liked playing on the mountain, and with Xiaocao leading the way, it was a good chance to familiarize herself with the surroundings.

However, if possible, she planned to bring some Dragon Fragrance Grass back home to plant, as the weather wasn’t too hot lately, making transplantation easier.

”Plant it in the ground? Would that work? These grow in the mountains; won’t they die if planted in the ground?”

Xiaocao was skeptical because Xiaomi hadn’t been seen working in the fields, suggesting she didn’t know how to farm.

Now she suddenly talked about planting Dragon Fragrance Grass; why didn’t Xiaocao believe it?

”What if it works? They’re all planted in soil. When we head back this afternoon, we’ll pick a couple to bring back. We won’t take much, and it won’t be wasted if they don’t survive.”

Actually, the ones she put in her space yesterday had already rooted and survived; the growth environment for Dragon Fragrance Grass wasn’t too harsh — sunny, loose, and fertile soil would do.

If you observed carefully, you would notice Dragon Fragrance Grass grew better in sunnier spots.

Xiaocao was somewhat convinced: ”Really? If we can plant them, wouldn’t it be like farming?”

If they could harvest a lot of Dragon Fragrance Grass every year, wouldn’t they earn a lot more?

Xiaocao was tempted.

So, after a brief discussion, they decided to each bring one plant home when they returned in the afternoon!

The three of them were well-prepared today, each carrying a basket, with the stance of taking the whole mountain’s Dragon Fragrance Grass back with them.

Sure enough, they had lunch on the mountain. Xiaomi didn’t call Xiaocao when leaving; she only told her when they were preparing to return.

But Xiaomi also brought enough food for all three of them, and Wei Ziang impressively caught a wild chicken.

Hit in one shot!

Even Xiaomi was stunned; it seemed so simple to raise his hand to shoot, and then the wild chicken just fell.

”Amazing!” Xiaomi was thrilled, and Xiaohei instinctively went to fetch the wild chicken.

Xiaocao tugged at Xiaomi’s sleeve: ”Yesterday was more amazing; he even hit a small snake, and the wild chicken is so much bigger.”

Xiaomi belatedly realized: ”Oh, right.”

Excitedly, she rushed over to Wei Ziang: ”Brother, how do you do it? I never see you practice, yet you’re so accurate!”

Xiaocao glanced at Wei Ziang, lowered his head with a gentle smile while explaining to Xiaomi, clicked his tongue a couple of times in his heart, and silently went to gather firewood.

As for Xiaomi, let her be excited for now; she’ll calm down eventually.

Indeed, not two minutes later, Xiaomi was at her side, exclaiming how amazing Brother is, how he can do anything!

Xiaocao sighed inwardly; she’d heard these words the whole way!

”Xiaomi, after we eat and rest for a bit, I’ll take you to a nice place.”

If she didn’t change the topic, Xiaomi would probably be dreaming about ’Brother, Brother’ at night.

”What nice place? Xiaocao, you’re amazing; how do you know this mountain so well?”

Xiaocao’s attention quickly shifted.
