Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 360: Chapter 243: Domineering (Part 2)

This road, last time with Wei Ziang, we only reached the mountaintop on the other side, but it seems we can descend the mountain from here.

Xiaomi never expected that the way down would be so thrilling!

Seeing the small mounds all around, her face turned green!

She is indeed an atheist!

She has indeed seen monsters in her past life!

But!

That doesn’t mean she’s not afraid of these things!

A winding path down leads to a graveyard.

And it seems to be an abandoned graveyard, or rather, a mass grave!

Many graves don’t have tombstones in front, some mounds are collapsed, almost overtaken by weeds.

Some coffins are even exposed, clearly showing a dilapidated scene.

This path happens to go through the grave forest, with high cliffs on both sides, making it impossible to descend!

Xiaomi, mustering her courage, pinches her palm and walks through the grave forest, cold sweat breaking out.

She glanced back, thinking she might have to return through here later, shivered, and then ran without looking back.

The matter of returning can be dealt with later!

North is up, south is down, west is left, east is right. Xiaomi still has these basic skills for identifying directions.

However, in the world where she lived in her past life, directions were rarely described using north, south, east, and west, so at a glance, Xiaomi still couldn’t easily identify her current position.

But she remembered what Xiaocao said in the morning, that the city is divided into directions, with four different classes of people living in each.

Previously, when she and Wei Ziang were on the mountain, they observed that the area near this side of the city had the simplest houses.

Presumably, this should be the west district where the poor live. Coincidentally, she was going to the west market and south market today.

If she ever gets the chance again, it’s best to go to the market in the morning, as there are very few people in the afternoon market.

Keeping this in mind, Xiaomi smoothly exchanged a copper coin with a guard for an entry token into the city.

This was akin to a city entry permit. With this, she could enter the city, and as long as she didn’t lose it, she could stay as long as she wanted until she left.

Unfortunately, she could only stay for one or two hours.

The token was made of bamboo, very small, about the size of two Mahjong tiles placed together, with the words ”Cheng County” written in the middle and beautiful patterns around the edges.

It wasn’t delicate, rather quite rough, but this thing brought an unknown amount of revenue to the city every year.

No wonder everyone avoids entering the city without reason, as every entry costs a copper coin, which is quite uneconomical.

Muttering to herself, Xiaomi’s eyes darted around quickly, finding a spot with fewer people, then ducked over to put two wild chickens and two wild rabbits in her backpack.

She also took out a bamboo basket, inside was a snake.

A big snake.

With the advent of spring, there were more snakes in the mountains, so catching a snake wasn’t unusual.

On the contrary, eels usually appear in abundance in April or May when waterfields are tilled.

With her backpack and bamboo basket, Xiaomi swaggered down the street.

The west side of the city was indeed dirtier and more dilapidated, with wide main roads but lots of debris at the corners and barely any shops around. In the alleys, you could even hear crying, shouting, and quarreling.

Xiaomi observed her surroundings while quickly searching for where the market might be located.

Soon, she saw someone carrying things coming out of a relatively spacious alley. Upon checking, it indeed was a market, but unfortunately, no one was there now.

After looking around, she left, planning to head to the busiest commercial street to sell her goods at an inn and then look around further.

Thinking about it, she recalled Cheng County from atop the mountain earlier.

Although she only saw various rooftops, she could still distinguish the city’s four main roads stretching north, south, east, and west.

Among these, the busiest street had various flags to attract customers installed on the rooftops.

After recalling this in her mind, she quickly identified her location and headed in the remembered direction.

Soon enough, she arrived at the commercial street in her memory, where Butler Liu’s family had previously brought them.

She glanced around and saw shops of all kinds, with inns every once in a while. Xiaomi headed towards the nearest luxurious inn.
