Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 363: Chapter 244: Sister Liu

After all, she herself was standing far away, even though she knew the snake was caught, she was still scared.

Xiaomi quickly said: ”Shopkeeper, could you do me a favor and lend me a basket or something? My family is poor; I need to take these things back home to use.”

Her baskets and bamboo baskets were woven by her dad and Uncle Qixi. If they end up at the County Magistrate’s mansion, what if they are recognized later?

Even if it’s just a tiny chance, that’s no good!

Miss Liu looked at the Shopkeeper, who nodded repeatedly, signaling the assistant to fetch it.

The snake was too large, the assistant didn’t dare to handle it, so Xiaomi grabbed it herself and moved it to another place.

What made Xiaomi laugh was that the chef in the backyard came out and happened to see Xiaomi catching the snake, his eyes went wide!

Especially when he heard from others that the Shopkeeper, disliking the high price, let the good stuff that was almost in his hands be snatched by the County Magistrate’s daughter, his eyes were like knives, stabbing at the Shopkeeper repeatedly.

Xiaomi had reason to believe that if Sister Liu wasn’t there, the chef might have started a verbal spar.

The assistant, having received Miss Liu’s reward, was fearless, carrying the bamboo basket and walking off.

Xiaomi happily put away the broken silver, waved to Sister Liu.

”Pretty sister, the things from my house are delicious. If satisfied, just let someone leave a message here. If I come to the city again, I’ll come here first to ask.”

After speaking, regardless of whether Sister Liu heard it or not, she turned her head and ran off.

Everything is to be sold anyway, selling to whom is not selling, right? Good things and silver should still stay with their own people, isn’t it?

As for when next time will be, that’s uncertain.

As for whether the Shopkeeper’s face turned even greener after hearing that, she didn’t care; after all, the Shopkeeper missed out on the good stuff, that’s his loss.

A bit farther away, Xiaomi started wandering around; her time was limited, couldn’t delay any longer, needed to quickly check out the situation of various markets.

However, Xiaomi quickly discovered that after she left the tavern, someone had been following her.

Xiaomi’s eyes darted and she smiled slyly, walking even more confidently through the streets and alleys,

also using her young age to her advantage, pulling aside many friendly-looking sisters and aunties in West and South City to ask about some things.

Just like that, half an hour passed, and Xiaomi was ready to head home.

Pretending to check roadside stalls, she saw the two people following her behind, both panting with hands on their knees.

As for Xiaomi herself, at ease, walking quickly yet not out of breath, just as if she was leisurely strolling the whole time, completely relaxed.

However, it’s time to shake off these people; if she doesn’t get back, it might be too late.

Putting down the trinket in her hand: ”Boss, this is too expensive, I can’t afford it.”

After speaking, she turned and walked away; the two people following her hadn’t reacted before she disappeared at the corner, and when they pursued, she was nowhere to be found.

On the other side, Xiaomi, after turning the corner, sped up and ran.

Don’t be fooled by her wandering for half an hour; she had already memorized the route and was moving closer to the city gate the whole time.

Swiftly ditching the two, Xiaomi exited the city and headed home.

It was still that path with plenty of deserted graves, only she walked in that direction, luckily not many people were around in the afternoon, so no one paid her any mind.

Retracing her steps, she removed her makeup up in the mountains, changed back into her original clothes, then ran back home.

By the time she got home, the sun was just about to set.

No one was home. Xiaomi went to take a look in her parents’ room; great, the note was still there, seemed like they hadn’t returned yet.

Calmly putting away the note, she could use it next time she goes out.

She had been quite obedient lately, practicing her swordsmanship at home when nothing else needed attention, or lying down to rest when tired.

This was not without precedent; before, she would suddenly spend days carving a large bundle of branches or practice archery behind closed doors, or just lay around at home after a tiring run.

As long as she wasn’t unresponsive and couldn’t be called awake, there was no need to worry!

It’s probably because she had been behaving so well lately that everyone got used to it, so no one even thought she would suddenly run to the city and conveniently earn some money from acquaintances.
