Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 393: Chapter 254: Deliberate (Part 2)

The second sister-in-law conveniently put it down and shifted inside the bed: ”Isn’t this waiting for you to come back, Hu? Did they come because of the afternoon incident?”

Jiang Hu snorted lightly: ”Exactly, they even recounted the whole thing from beginning to end.”

Then he couldn’t help but laugh: ”Second sister-in-law, you have no idea how hard it was for me to hold back my laughter back then while his dad kept scolding.”

Second sister-in-law: ”I heard a bit of it. But come to think of it, Zhang Yuan seemed to have gotten scared quite a few times today.”

Jiang Hu pursed his lips, full of disdain: ”Who cares about him, serves him right. Who told him to hang around our little Mi every day, and even think he could just propose like that, he’s really overstepping.”

Originally, Jiang Hu had no idea about this matter either; they had been in Xiangmu Village for a few months, and everything was peaceful until then.

It was these past few days that Zhang An, for some unknown reason, suddenly started following around Xiaomi.

If it were just that, it wouldn’t matter, but there were even people making a fuss, saying Zhang An was diligent and honest, suggesting that Xiaomi should be betrothed to him.

This instantly made Jiang Hu’s face turn dark, and he said coldly that Xiaomi was still young and not considering such matters.

A few days ago, he even told Xiaomi to play at home and not run outside, but Xiaomi was never one to just stay put.

Jiang Hu also understood; he knew the character of the child he’d raised better than anyone.

Instead of keeping Xiaomi inside, it would be better to find a way to discourage Zhang Yuan or the village head’s family.

That’s right, he didn’t believe that Zhang Yuan suddenly started acting attentively without someone pointing it out.

Although Jiang Hu felt their family wasn’t wealthy, nor could they be considered extremely prosperous,

he was also very clear that, compared to ordinary families, the Jiang family was indeed well-off.

If anyone really had designs on his daughter because of this, it wasn’t out of the realm of possibility.

He even seriously suspected that the village head’s family had this idea, which was why Zhang An kept following Xiaomi around.

Fortunately, the two of them were still young; if they were any older, Xiaomi’s reputation would have been tarnished.

As for what happened on the mountain, Xiaomi recounted it when she got home, laughing uncontrollably, mocking Zhang Yuan for being as timid as a mouse—a single snake scared him into wetting his pants.

And just now, he pretended not to know, just because Zhang Yuan happened to be there too, he wanted to listen to the story again in his presence.

Don’t talk about things like kids; our little Mi had caught snakes with her big brother when she was only two or three, okay?

Moreover, given that the other party had ulterior motives, he was actually delighted to let Zhang Yuan feel awkward and embarrassed once more!

Second sister-in-law knew Jiang Hu treasured the kids in the family and had been displeased with Zhang Yuan for a long time. When she saw Jiang Hu mention Zhang Yuan, speaking so bluntly, she wasn’t surprised at all.

”Alright, let’s just sleep first. Ziang said he wants to rest at home for half a month, and by the end of these two weeks, the pigsty will basically be finished.”

By then, once they had some free time, if Xiaomi wanted to go up the mountain, they could spare some time to accompany her, so they wouldn’t have to worry about these things.

The next morning, the couple got up as usual to work and didn’t bring up the events of the previous day at all.

Jiang Yu and the others went to school and to the embroidery workshop as usual, and of course, they didn’t forget about Xiao Cao’s xianglong grass.

The weather was nice today; Xiaomi overslept till the sun was high, and by the time she got up, it was just her and Wei Ziang at home.

As soon as she came out, she saw Wei Ziang practicing swordsmanship in the yard. Leaning against the wall, she watched for a while and noticed it was somewhat similar to hers but not exactly the same.

After watching for a while, Wei Ziang stopped his movements: ”Why haven’t you gone to eat yet?”

Her stomach growled, and Xiaomi rubbed it: ”Have you eaten yet?”

As she spoke, she automatically headed to the kitchen.

”I had breakfast in the morning. Aunt went to the fields, Grandpa Liu, and Qixi went back to the city today, said they had some matters and would come back in a few days.”

Even though he had already eaten, he still followed her in.

”What are you going to do this morning? Going out or staying home?”

Come to think of it, ever since going to school, there were few chances like this; usually, when coming home, it was almost dark.

”I’ll go out later. Big brother, let’s bring more stuff today, shall we? We’ll have lunch on the mountain and not come back. How about that?”

Having someone accompany her to the mountain, Xiaomi instantly became ’arrogant’.

Previously, being able to go out was enough, and now she wanted to spend a whole day up the mountain.
