Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 359: Chapter 243: Overbearing

At noon, as usual, she took a nap, and then practiced swordsmanship in the courtyard. The small wooden sword was very handy, much more so than a bamboo stick.

Every time at this moment, Xiaomi truly believed that Wei Ziang indeed had a gift for martial arts.

Whether it was the small short bow before, or the small wooden sword now, both were made particularly beautifully and were just right.

If this isn’t talent, then what is?

Xiaomi had already confirmed from the mountain. Although their courtyard was near the foot of the mountain, it was still a bit of a distance.

Standing on the mountaintop, one couldn’t see the situation in her family’s courtyard at all.

This way, she could be at ease, as long as she stayed in the courtyard and didn’t go out, no one would see her practicing swordsmanship.

Practicing martial arts, though not particularly unusual, was still somewhat misunderstood in the village.

By now, Xiaomi had fully mastered the first two moves, and could perform them fluidly and without error.

Furthermore, she discovered that whenever she executed a move perfectly, there was a slight sensation in her Dantian.

And now, she had already begun practicing the third move.

Focusing entirely on her practice for half an hour, she watched the demonstration in her mind, recalled the parts she needed to correct, and practiced for another half an hour, basically completing today’s task.

Once Xiaomi was done, she was the only one left at home.

There was still some work unfinished in the fields, and pig fodder needed to be collected to feed the pigs, so everyone went to the fields.

Even Uncle Liu suddenly developed a love for fishing. Every afternoon, without fail, he would take his bamboo pole to the pond to fish.

Xiaomi took a turn around the house, suddenly had an idea, went back to her room to write a note, placed it on the table in her parents’ room, and then hurriedly left the house.

Not wanting her parents to find out, she left directly through the back door, darting up the mountain.

The path that allowed her to cross the entire mountain and lead to the other side of the county’s street still existed, which was just convenient for her.

As they say, seize the day rather than wait for a better one; she planned to visit the city today.

After all, her parents were busy these few days. Once the corn and sorghum were completely planted and watered, and they had time off, she wouldn’t have the chance to slip away.

She had something she wanted to do secretly, so she naturally had to avoid her parents.

While on the mountain, she changed into a set of coarse cloth clothing, which seemed to be her big brother Jiang Yu’s old clothes from their time in Fu’an Village. Now they fit her just right.

She also redid her hair, tore off a piece of burlap, fashioned it into a child’s hairstyle, and applied coffee-colored foundation on her face and hands.

And that wasn’t all; the coffee-colored foundation wasn’t enough. She took a brow pencil and marked a mole at the corner of her mouth, larger than a sesame seed, making her incredibly ugly!

These makeup tools were found among the materials from her previous life, a lot of them, including many big-brand makeup and skincare products.

Unfortunately, in this world, they seemed to have no use.

Her family was nourished by Spiritual Spring water. Each one was fair and tender. Even under the scorching sun during busy farming days, they could recover from their tans within a few days.

Well, except Jiang Hu.

And in winter, Liu Ze, when sending fragrant balm to the second sister openly, never forgot her and their mother, so that all her stuff went unused.

The ones Liu Ze sent weren’t the best, but they were definitely very effective. Furthermore, they were purely natural, without any side effects, much better than what she had in her space.

She took ten minutes to complete the disguise, then put all her changed items back into the space and took an old, worn-out basket, covered it with a very old sieve.

Since she was heading to the city, she couldn’t go empty-handed. But with the city being quite a bit away, carrying things so early would be too tiring.

The basket and bamboo sieve served as a cover. As she neared the city gate, she could stuff things into the basket and not worry about being seen.

Initially, she thought, since trips to the city were rare, why not make it a big one?

There were many glass products in her space, including crafts, dining sets, tea sets, vases, decorative items, and even crystal stone pots!

Any of these, if brought out and marketed well, could surely fetch several hundred to a thousand silver taels at a pawnshop, right?

But after thinking it over, she gave up. This matter, better to wait a few years until her swordsmanship was practiced well enough that she wouldn’t have to worry about being targeted before getting around to it.

In her current childlike appearance, she better not take out such things only to be caught right away and end up losing everything. That would be a true loss.

Forget it, better to start with something small. It’s already afternoon, so consider it a reconnaissance trip.
