Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 343: Chapter 237: Surprise (Part 3)

The concept of ’jinx’ was something that Xiao Mi never dared to forget. The secret of the space was only a true secret if no one knew about it.

In the space, Xiao Mi was only a spiritual entity; she could smell the fragrance of the soil and the scent of flowers and grass.

But when she was in the space, she only existed as a spiritual entity, without a physical body.

In other words, she could only see these things. If she wanted to eat them, she had to leave the space and consume them outside, with her own body.

Xiao Mi sighed regretfully, but didn’t mind too much. She just took a quick tour of the space and then left.

Everything went dark before her eyes and, after a moment of adjustment, she finally managed to see a bit more clearly.

Beside her was still her second sister’s gentle breathing; she had already fallen asleep.

Xiao Mi shifted slightly, only to realize that the book was still in her hand; she had accidentally taken it out earlier, so she hurriedly put it back.

Changing to a more comfortable position, Xiao Mi mused that it seemed she had to find an opportunity to live separately. Living together as two was indeed a bit inconvenient.

As she closed her eyes, Xiao Mi thought about when her second sister would learn embroidery. Tomorrow, she planned to go to the hill to find an opportunity and to openly retrieve the book.

After falling asleep, she even had a sweet dream. In the dream, she traveled the world with a sword, helping those in need, crossing deserts, and navigating through seas, living carefree and at ease.

Until a rooster’s crow fully awakened her from her beautiful dream.

Yawning and turning over, she squinted her eyes and glanced outside the window.

”Are we getting up before dawn?”

Freshly awake, Xiao Xue heard her grumble and couldn’t help but chuckle, gently patting Xiao Mi’s arm: ”It’s still early, go back to sleep.”

Indeed, Xiao Mi turned over and continued sleeping.

By the time she woke up again, it was broad daylight, and her second sister was sitting beside her doing embroidery. Rubbing her eyes and sitting up, she heard her second sister’s surprised voice.

”You’re finally awake, it’s already noon. If you didn’t wake up, Mom and Dad would have taken you to the clinic again.”

Saying this, she stood up, ready to go out: ”Are you hungry? I’ll go to the kitchen and get you some food.”

The words had barely fallen when she had already walked out the door.

Not long after, from the direction of the courtyard gate, Liu Bo’s voice came, probably asking Xiao Xue if Xiao Mi was awake, and getting a definite answer, Liu Bo said he’d go to the field to tell Mom and Dad.

Xiao Mi stretched lazily, feeling much more comfortable.

Last night, she might have unknowingly spent too much time in the space and had a night filled with fantastical dreams that she couldn’t remember now.

So, she accidentally overslept.

Originally not a big deal, but with the family still scared from her recent incident, her second sister was overly anxious when she overslept this time.

Changing clothes and quickly tying her hair into a bun, Xiao Xue brought over breakfast.

”This morning, Mom made buns. They’ve been kept warm in the pot. You have some first. They’re stuffed with cured meat and shredded radish, and there’s vermicelli too. They’re delicious.”

Xiao Xue placed porridge, buns, and pickles on the table, along with a corn muffin.

Xiao Mi’s taste was different from everyone else’s.

The others really enjoyed eating meat, especially when they were tired from work. If there was meat, they welcomed it without reservation.

But Xiao Mi was different. Every time she finished eating meat dishes, she liked to have a few bites of plain rice, saying it neutralized the taste in her mouth.

With buns, it was the same. Though the fragrant meat buns were delicious, especially their homemade cured meat, chopped and lightly fried before stuffing, were the most aromatic.

But after eating, she still preferred half a muffin. The mildly sweet aroma seemed to refresh her mouth, leaving no greasy aftertaste.

At first, everyone found it odd, but over time, they got used to Xiao Mi’s habit and were willing to indulge her daily.

”Thanks, second sister, I haven’t had vermicelli buns in ages.” Xiao Mi delightedly broke open a bun and inhaled deeply. Delicious!

Taking a big bite, the grease and soft bun skin combined, tasting absolutely amazing!

”By the way, second sister, can we go for a walk up the hill today?”

Eating, she didn’t forget to implement her plan.

Fortunately, Xiao Xue didn’t refuse, only reminding her: ”Don’t go too far.”

Xiao Mi was instantly excited: ”Great, I love you, second sister. So let’s go once I’ve finished eating, okay?”

Today, she hoped to go a bit deeper, even if not to the pool, reaching the hilltop behind the house would suffice. Find a chance and retrieve the remaining Swordsmanship book.

Xiao Xue gave her a curious look: ”Weren’t you on the hill all day the day before yesterday? Why are you so excited?”

Xiao Mi also felt her reaction was too obvious, giggled a few times, didn’t dare say more, and focused on eating.
