Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 324: Chapter 231: Climbing the Mountain (Part 2)

There’s a small stream not far behind their house, and next to it, a path winds all the way up to the mountain top.

Previously, when it was raining, Xiaomi expressed curiosity about what the top of the mountain looked like, but since it was rainy and slippery, they never went up.

Xiaomi immediately became interested: ”Sure, let me get my weapon!”

I’ve been wanting to go out and play for a long time, but there hasn’t been a chance.

At this moment, Wei Ziang went to tell the others.

Since today was just about planting sorghum seedlings, the whole family didn’t need to go out.

Besides, with school about to start, everyone had to start studying diligently, especially Jiang Wei, who had many things to catch up on, so they were all at home reading books.

So, Xiaomi was relatively free, along with Wei Ziang, who had an extraordinary memory. He seemed not to take studying seriously, but in fact, he learned faster and better than anyone else, so they had more time.

If Xiaomi went out alone, Jiang Yu and the others would worry a bit, given that they had just arrived here and were unfamiliar with the place. Xiaomi also liked to run around recklessly.

But if Jiang Yu was going along, then it was fine. Even if they didn’t trust Xiaomi, they trusted Jiang Yu not to let Xiaomi get into trouble.

Xiaomi not only took her short bow, but she also quickly changed her clothes.

In a neat short outfit, with a bow slung on her back, a quiver at her waist, she’d even taken down her bejeweled hairpin, looking every bit the sprightly little girl.

When Wei Ziang was at home, he didn’t wear a long robe, which was quite convenient, but he still carried a small basket and a sickle.

This was the same small basket that Qixi had woven beautifully for Xiaoxue and Xiaomi, with different patterns made by varying the colors of the wicker strips.

The one Wei Ziang was carrying now belonged to Xiaomi.

Carrying a basket and sickle when going up the mountain was a habit, as you never knew when they might come in handy.

”Hurry up, brother, let’s go see what’s at the top of the mountain.” Xiaomi pushed open the back door and dashed out eagerly.

Wei Ziang quickly followed, just about to close the door when Little Black squeezed out: ”Woof woof~”

Almost as if it were saying, ”You’re going out to play without me!”

Xiaomi heard too: ”Ah, Little Black, you’re going to have puppies, you need to rest at home and can’t go up the mountain.”

Saying this, she tried to shoo Little Black back inside.

But Little Black clearly had other ideas, ducking under Xiaomi’s outstretched arms and dashing ahead joyfully up the path, then standing on a higher spot, wagging its tail at Xiaomi.

Xiaomi put her hands on her hips in exasperation: ”Little Black! Go back home! You can’t run around!”

Just a month away from giving birth, now it needs to rest well!

But evidently, that’s not what Little Black thought.

Wei Ziang closed the door, walking over with a smile: ”It’s okay, Little Black being so spirited just means the puppies are fine. If it’s not feeling well, it’ll definitely go back home on its own.”

Xiaomi’s nose and eyes were all crinkled, still feeling uneasy.

After all, Little Black grew up with her and is her good friend. Now that it’s suddenly pregnant, she can’t help but worry.

Wei Ziang patted Xiaomi’s head and took her hand: ”Alright, it’s getting late, let’s go. Little Black’s so smart, if it feels unwell, it’ll definitely go home on its own.”

Xiaomi hesitated for a moment, then followed Wei Ziang’s lead as he pulled her along, still muttering under her breath.

Upon listening carefully, it was all about how Little Black should rest at home.

Wei Ziang shook his head. Not only had they been cooped up at home for so long, but so had Little Black. Even though the yard wasn’t small, it couldn’t compare to the outdoors, right?

Moreover, when Little Black was at Fu’an Village, it used to run outside every day, often going up the mountain to play, which it was accustomed to.

Today, as soon as Little Black heard Xiaomi say ’go up the mountain,’ it was even more excited than Xiaomi, clearly waiting at the door all along.

However, after muttering for a bit, Xiaomi’s attention was drawn to the little stream beside them.

”The water here is so clear.”

Previously, from below, this stream didn’t seem big, but upon closer look, it was actually quite wide, at least a zhang wide.

Moreover, the stream doesn’t flow straight down in one path, but contains several pools of varying sizes along the way, with the stream water cascading down from above like a small waterfall.

Next to almost every little pool, there were steps dug out by people, with stones laid on them, probably to make it easier to fetch water.
