Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 309: Chapter 226: Pregnant (Part 2)

”How long does it take for a puppy to be pregnant and give birth?” Xiao Hei is already five or six years old, and this is the first time she’s having babies, it feels really strange.

No one knows who the father of the puppies is. In the whole Fu’an Village, including Xiao Hei, it seems there are only three dogs, and it’s quite far from other villages, so the puppy father should be one of the other two.

Unfortunately, Xiao Mi doesn’t know whether the other two dogs are male or female, so naturally, there’s no way to guess who the father is.

Wei Ziang thought for a moment, ”It seems to take a bit more than two months. By the time Xiao Hei gives birth, it shouldn’t be cold anymore.”

Xiao Mi nodded to show she understood and started thinking about adding more meals for Xiao Hei.

While thinking, Er Niu and Jiang Hu came over from the yard and saw the two squatting in front of Xiao Hei. They said, ”Xiao Mi, Xiao Hei is pregnant, don’t take her running all over the place these days.”

Previously, when it rained, it was fine, but now that the weather’s clear, the little girl definitely won’t stay at home obediently, so a good reminder is necessary.

Xiao Mi’s eyes lit up, ”Really having babies?”

”Yes, it seems she’s been pregnant for about a month, and she’ll give birth in another month.”

Xiao Mi was even more delighted, petting Xiao Hei. Xiao Hei didn’t resist, lying in her nest, allowing Xiao Mi to pet her all over.

The doghouse was made of woven straw. Since they had just arrived in Xiangmu Village and it rained, conditions were limited, and they could only weave a straw mat as a doghouse.

At night, Xiao Hei and Xiao Mi would go sleep in the woodshed, which was much warmer.

Jiang Hu and Er Niu took their hoes, ready to head out. Xiao Mi quickly asked where they were going.

”The weather cleared up, let’s go scatter some vegetable seeds in the field, we can eat them after a few days.”

Even though vegetables are available in the county all year round, and each season has its own, farmers don’t really like buying; it’s better to grow their own.

Besides, the Jiang family had originally made their fortune by farming vegetables.

Xiao Mi immediately got excited, ”I’ll go too!”

As she spoke, she patted Xiao Hei’s head, ”Xiao Hei, be good and rest at home, we’ll be back soon.”

Wei Ziang didn’t say anything, but he stood up, indicating that he also wanted to go along.

Since the weather had cleared, and knowing everyone’s been a bit cooped up lately, Jiang Hu didn’t stop them and let them follow, even asking a few other kids if they wanted to come.

However, Xiao Xue thought that after the rain, the ground was too muddy, so she didn’t go. Otherwise, it would be troublesome to wash clothes and shoes when she got back.

As for the other three, they had to focus on their studies. Since the weather was good, they had to report to the academy when they went to town tomorrow, so they weren’t in the mood to play.

But Wei Ziang wasn’t worried. He had a good memory, no matter what he learned, he remembered it after a couple of times.

Additionally, his progress in writing was quick. In Liu Ze’s words, Wei Ziang’s handwriting was stable, his hands didn’t shake, and neither did his pen, so he was halfway there when writing characters.

When leaving through the front gate, Qixi and another servant named Ding Shan joined them.

It’s said that Ding Shan is Liu Ze’s valet. Last year, he was always with Liu Ze, while Qixi, who originally did miscellaneous chores at Liu’s house in town, has now been by Master Liu’s side.

In other words, Qixi got a promotion and is now with the master.

Also, staying at Jiang’s didn’t return was at Liu Bo’s behest.

According to Qixi, that’s because Jiang’s family was new here, it would be more convenient if something isn’t habitual with Qixi around.

Just like last time when Jiang’s belongings were moved here, and the city gate guards got suspicious and followed them.

Fortunately, Qixi reacted quickly at that time, while Jiang Hu and Er Niu were a bit scared.

”Dad, Mom, where’s our field? Do we need to plow it first? We didn’t bring the big ox.”

The section of road in front of the gate is still stony, no worries about mud, but when reaching the fields, it’s all dirt roads.

At first, they rolled up their pants carefully, but soon gave up and walked in big steps, since they were going to get muddy anyway.

As for the Big Water Buffalo, it was the one that Xiao Ding’s father gave them, and it was brought along, while the one they bought themselves was still in Fu’an Village.

After all, there were a lot of crops at home, and they needed to plow the fields as well, plus the ox was bought together with the Liu family.

”The field’s been plowed by someone arranged by your Grandpa Liu, all we need to do is plant.”

Jiang Hu reached out to hold Xiao Mi’s hand, ”Do you want Daddy to carry you?”

Xiao Mi quickly shook her head, ”No, no, Xiao Mi’s grown up now, doesn’t need to be carried.”
