Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 305: Chapter 225: Rainy Day

Xiaomi knew Liu Ze was ’up to something,’ but apparently, no one else noticed anything besides her.

Well, in the eyes of their parents, they were just a bunch of kids. Who would think that children they’ve raised would have such little schemes at such a young age?

Spring rain is as precious as oil.

The first day of moving in, it started to rain, which couldn’t be seen as anything but a good omen.

One spring rain lasted several days. Although it wasn’t good for working, taking a walk in the fields was still alright.

Liu Ze initially wanted to invite everyone to the city or to his place.

But Jiang Hu thought it was inconvenient to visit on a rainy day, not to mention there was nothing at home now. He wanted to wait until the rain stopped before visiting.

Liu Ze, however, was indifferent. He just turned around and sent a servant back to bring his stuff over since he would stay at Jiang’s house for a while...

Well, really, there’s nothing more to say.

”Brother Jiang, it’s raining, where are you planning to go?”

Xiqi was busy with something outside the front courtyard hall, and when he looked up, he saw Jiang Hu coming out with a raincoat.

”I plan to check the fields, see which ones belong to us.” Jiang Hu was surprised when he saw what’s in Xiqi’s hand: ”What are you weaving?”

Under the eaves were some bamboo and split bamboo strips, and Xiqi was weaving something that looked like a big basket.

But Xiqi put the thing in his hand aside.

”This, it’s a small backpack, just like those delicate ones, like a large flower pot backpack. Many city girls love them, so I’m making one for the two girls at home.”

They were sold in the streets, but Xiqi didn’t have that much Silver Coin with him. It happened that he knew how to make one, so he simply did it himself.

”Thoughtful of you, Xiaomi and Xiaoxue will surely like it.”

Looking at the things on the ground: ”You started all this today? So fast?”

Xiqi had already taken his raincoat from the porter room.

”Not yet, didn’t I say I’d been waiting at the city gate for Brother Jiang’s carriage these past two days? When the gate was closed, I slept here, and sometimes when I couldn’t sleep in the early evening, I would work on this.”

The house door bolt was huge, thicker than a thigh, firmly set at the doorway, with excellent anti-theft effect.

But because of this, if there were only children at home, this door couldn’t be opened.

The two of them, wearing raincoats, went out to identify their family’s fields.

After all, being farmers for a lifetime, not confirming where their fields were made him uneasy.

Inside, the second aunt was inventorying the household’s existing grain, planning for spring planting seeds, and various vegetable seeds.

The boys were reciting from their books in the study. The study was originally empty, but this time around, each child brought a few books with them.

Xiaoxue was, as usual, doing her embroidery. This work was taken from Xiangma Town’s embroidery shop.

But when taking it, it wasn’t free or randomly taken; you had to leave a deposit first, equivalent to the pattern embroidery thread price.

So even now, when Xiaoxue brought it to the county, the embroidery shop wouldn’t lose; it was like selling some materials.

And after Xiaoxue finished these, she could take them to the county, find a suitable embroidery shop or a fabric shop, just in time to showcase her skills, which would be useful if she continued embroidery work.

Xiaomi didn’t want to read, nor did she know how to embroider, so she wandered around with her mother for a while and soon got bored.

Just as she was resting her chin, staring at the raindrops outside the window in a daze, an oil-paper umbrella appeared in front of her.

Xiaomi was initially stunned, then overjoyed: ”Big Brother! Where did you get an oil-paper umbrella?”

”I just found it in the study, thought you might be bored, want to go out and play?”

Everyone knew Xiaomi too well, she was never quiet, if she could run, she’d never walk; if she could go out, she’d never stay home.

Having spent so much time in the carriage before and now being trapped at home because of the rain, it wasn’t easy for her to feel content.

Xiaomi nodded repeatedly: ”Sure, let’s go check out the village, we didn’t get a good look last night, let’s go out the back door, we can’t open the front door.”

Saying this, she was already climbing up the window, and Wei Ziang hurriedly reached out, pulling Xiaomi out through the window.

Wei Ziang had even grown accustomed to it, not even blinking, and he casually held Xiaomi’s hand: ”Have you already checked the front?”

”Yeah, Dad locked it from the outside.” Xiaomi had a bittersweet smile: ”Even if it wasn’t locked, I couldn’t open it. You haven’t seen it; the door bolt is taller than two of me and thicker than my waist!”
