Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 319: Chapter 229: Shopping in Town

So that’s how it is, Wei Ziang and Jiang Wei understood.

Xiaomi’s eyes searched around, the appearance of beef jerky filled her heart with anticipation. It seems that this Cheng County isn’t that remote after all.

Since there are foreign merchants, it indicates that the traffic is still developed, it’s just that she doesn’t have a map and doesn’t know exactly where Cheng County is located.

Of course, there couldn’t possibly be a map, this is ancient times. Except for high-ranking officials, if ordinary people dared to own a map, it would be akin to being guilty of treason.

However, these things don’t matter, as long as there are people at the market.

Xiaomi chewed on the beef jerky, a small piece lasted a long time. After a lap around the market without finding anything to buy, it was late, so she was ready to head back.

As she came out of the market, she saw Liu Ze and Xiaoxue also coming out of the embroidery room. Liu Ze was holding a box, and Xiaoxue’s smile couldn’t be hidden no matter how hard she tried. It looked like they had also bought something nice.

”Second Sister!” Xiaomi ran up and fed a small piece of beef jerky into Xiaoxue’s mouth: ”Second Sister, try this, chew it slowly, it tastes really good.”

Liu Ze noticed it and was slightly surprised: ”Is that beef jerky?”

Because of his health, he knew about it, but had never tried it.

”Yeah, by the way, Brother Ze, how’s your health now? Can you eat these?” Xiaomi asked while feeding her second sister, then casually glanced at Liu Ze.

But it was just a polite inquiry, because as she spoke, she was already pulling her second sister forward, with no intention of giving Liu Ze a piece.

”Young master still can’t eat these, things from outside might make him feel unwell,” the housekeeper explained in time.

Xiaoxue nodded quickly: ”If you can’t eat it, better not eat it, health is more important.”

Xiaomi’s eyes twinkled, she hugged Second Sister’s arm, and turned her head with a bright smile looking at the housekeeper.

”Grandpa Butler, maybe you could tell Grandpa Liu, if we could get a yak or two, we might be able to raise them.”

Yaks live in high mountain cold zones and it’s hard for them to survive when away from such places, but she has Spiritual Spring water here, so it’s not impossible to give it a try.

What if they could raise them?

Maybe they could use the Spiritual Spring water to intensively feed and then develop yaks that could live in the Central Plains.

After all, yaks are still cattle and can be used to plow fields and work. If they can be bred in large numbers, the Central Plains could have another type of cattle and increase grain production!

Most importantly, beef freedom!

Although, this hope is quite distant.

However, upon hearing this, the butler was also moved, raising his eyebrows, suppressing his delight: ”Miss Xiaomi, is what you’re saying true? How can they be raised?”

Regarding Miss Xiaomi’s matters, others may not know, but as the butler, how could he not?

In the past few years, even though the young master and the master were rarely in Cheng County, for the entire last year, he had been serving them continuously.

And being able to become the housekeeper meant he was certainly someone deeply trusted by the Liu family, so he knew about the Jiang family and knew Xiaomi.

So listening to Xiaomi, he was almost certain in his heart that Xiaomi surely could raise these yaks!

Instead, Xiaomi was a bit frightened by Grandpa Butler’s excited attitude: ”Well, not necessarily, we can only say let’s give it a try, what if it works out.”

The butler directly ignored the words ’give it a try’: ”When Master comes at noon, I’ll let him know. Since the weather is still cool, maybe it’s possible to get a small yak over.”

There have been people wanting to raise yaks before, but unfortunately, yaks couldn’t adapt to summer in the Central Plains; they almost always got sick and died during summertime.

Xiaomi: ”Who is Master?”

Apart from Liu Ze and Jiang Yu, the others were also curious.

”He’s my father,” Liu Ze explained, or rather, as if he was explaining to Xiaoxue.

So that’s how it is.

The children were still very excited, putting their purchases in the carriage, and then walking back to the Liu family on foot.

They occasionally ran here and there on the road, looking around in curiosity at everything on the streets.

The Liu family’s housekeeper occasionally bumped into a few acquaintances, probably stewards from other houses, but he only had time to greet them hurriedly before chasing after the little ones, afraid of losing a single one of them.

Fortunately, though everyone was excited, they knew to stay mindful of the distance, didn’t run too far, and didn’t crowd into places with too many people.

They ran and walked back to the Liu family home, already noon by then, and the gatekeeper greeted them as if having hit the jackpot.

”Young masters and young ladies, you finally came back. Master and Madam just led the young master here, and I was just about to go find you in the street.”
