Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2838: Chapter 1995: Two Paths on the Chessboard

Bai Xiaosheng produced certificates from several top-tier worldwide banks to demonstrate to Zack and his father the concept of immense financial power.

And apparently, this was not even the entirety of the wealth he had at his disposal...

At this moment, Zack and his father were truly shaken.

What kind of family background does it take to wield such power!

It also sufficiently proves his significant standing within his own family!

With such a person, there’s nothing to worry about in partnership!

At this point, even Beno had no further doubts about Bai Xiaosheng.

”Mr. Bai, please, keep your documents safe!” Zack handed back the three bank certificates to Bai Xiaosheng with a full smile.

Bai Xiaosheng accepted them casually and placed them into his bag.

”So, do you two believe now that I have the capacity for this investment?” Bai Xiaosheng asked expressionlessly.

”Of course, of course!” Zack replied repeatedly, ”Regarding the land price issue, we can actually sit down and discuss it slowly to reach a consensus.”

”Yes, precisely.” Beno nodded and smiled in agreement.

However, at this time, Bai Xiaosheng displayed a brief cold smile, ”Mr. Zack, Mr. Beno, I’ve somewhat changed my mind now.”

This statement caused the duo’s smiles to freeze, with a slight shock.

”What do you mean by that?” Zack tested the waters with his question.

Bai Xiaosheng bluntly replied, ”Before coming here, someone from my team suggested that given the current economic climate in Kajash, it would be more prudent to wait. A typhoon and tsunami have made life difficult, and increasingly so, for many industries. Many once-prosperous local businesses have gone bankrupt. Although land and real estate are excellent investments, investing now is not worthwhile. Waiting for a period would be the best investment point. After all, no matter how abundant the resources, it’s like mountains of gold and silver, without ample cash flow on hand, starvation and thirst are inevitable! When that time comes, the side holding the resources may not be surprised to sell at a loss!

Bai Xiaosheng’s words were like daggers, stabbing into Zack’s heart one by one.

Although Zack maintained composure, his complexion was noticeably unpleasant, with even minor facial twitching.

Seeing his father’s reaction, Beno was suddenly a little uneasy.

His father had repeatedly emphasized to him not to be overconfident about the two prime plots they held and actively sought external investors, even sacrificing numerous shares of the family business.

Is that not clear enough!

The actual financial situation of the family might be worse than he anticipated!

Beno felt a bit panicked.

Bai Xiaosheng continued, ”Originally, I thought this would be my first major investment in Oceania, and it had to be with absolute decisiveness, which is the hallmark of a successful businessman. Therefore, I didn’t want these suggestions to influence my judgment.”

Upon hearing this, a hint of liveliness returned to Zack’s eyes, and his lips twitched, wanting to flatter Bai Xiaosheng for thinking this way.

Then, Bai Xiaosheng continued, ”But your cautiousness just now truly affected me. If I invest, and the overall situation is poor, the land just sits there, not appreciating in value, or even depreciating. If word of that spreads, I’d become a laughingstock, and that’s something I won’t do.”

Bai Xiaosheng’s words clearly carried the tone of a ”retreat.”

Upon hearing this, Zack’s face turned even paler, with an urge to hit himself, and maybe even Beno.

This was as if they had inadvertently reminded him of a mistake, potentially derailing the business deal!

On the side, Beno felt immense regret for his earlier ”over-cautiousness.”

”Mr. Bai, our two plots will definitely appreciate in the future. They are the best lands in Domido City!” Beno couldn’t help but say.

”That’s right!” Zack hurriedly chimed in.

Bai Xiaosheng looked at them meaningfully, as if the more anxious they were, the less he believed it.

”I only focus on facts, not on ’others’ assumptions’.” Bai Xiaosheng said softly, ”I just want to know if I invest in these two plots, acquire shares in your family business, whether there can be unexpected returns in this environment. If so, I can decide on my own for an eighty-something billion investment. If not, I might explore other places, perhaps even other countries, where there might be better investments. Collaborating with governments could be a better choice, at least more stable than private enterprises.”

Bai Xiaosheng’s words made Zack and Beno feel as if their hearts were being fried.

Beno now increasingly regretted his initial actions, desperately wanting to persuade Bai Xiaosheng to change his mind, even if it meant lowering the deal’s base price.

But he also knew, doing so might have the opposite effect, making Bai less inclined to invest.

Currently, the only way to turn things around is to show more added value and raise the counterpart’s expectations.

However, no matter how hard Beno racked his brains, he couldn’t figure out how to do it.

Zack, on the contrary, fell silent after Bai Xiaosheng’s words, his eyes wavering as if making a silent decision.

Bai Xiaosheng observed the father and son’s reactions, stood up nonchalantly, stretched, and said, ”Thank you for your hospitality today, we will leave for now. As for the investment and acquisition, we will carefully consider it after going back.”
