Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2824: Chapter 1989: On-the-Spot Reinforcement (2)

Previously, when investigating issues related to the Caroline Family, we had already mobilized all available personnel on this side.

Now, there is the addition of Vice Chairman Morgan’s family.

In terms of manpower, we are truly stretched thin.

Moreover, to deal simultaneously with an equal presence within the group and a vice chairman, Bai Xiaosheng also needs a strong ally.

That person can only be Mr. Wen Yan.

Once the call was connected, before Bai Xiaosheng could speak, Wen Yan laughed and said, ”Bai Xiaosheng, you are really in the spotlight now. You solved several troubles in one go. The news has reached headquarters, and these past days, I’ve heard nothing but praise for you. Your prestige is growing by the day, almost catching up with the vice chairman. I’ve even thought that perhaps after this, you might be appointed vice chairman by the acting chairman.”

Mostly, this remark was made in jest.

”Mr. Wen Yan, we’ll leave the teasing for later. I’ve encountered a new situation here.” Bai Xiaosheng went straight to the point.

”Oh, what new situation!” Wen Yan was curious about Bai Xiaosheng’s new attitude.

Bai Xiaosheng meticulously explained the situation between Vice Chairman Morgan’s family-controlled Golun International and Ice Spring Valley Company, also laying out his conceived possibilities.

Wen Yan immediately adopted a serious tone, ”Such a thing really exists!”

The Zhenbei Group Headquarters’ Monitoring Department is not omnipotent. They operate based on the group’s framework and lack the authority to investigate external enterprises.

Furthermore, with companies like Ice Spring Valley, where operations strictly follow regulations, even if personnel are planted, problems might not be detected.

Besides, the Sixth Business Division’s jurisdiction is inherently a weak spot for the Monitoring Department. When Bai Xiaosheng contacted Monitoring Department employees to protect Lin Weiwei, he found that in the entire Kajash, there were fewer than thirty department employees.

Hence, the situations Bai Xiaosheng described were indeed unknown to Wen Yan.

”I need manpower for the investigation, but when I contacted our department employees here, I found that the entire nation of Kajash had fewer than thirty people.”

Bai Xiaosheng did not mention he requested personnel solely to protect Lin Weiwei.

Wen Yan said gravely, ”That is my fault. In recent years, I’ve detected issues with the Sixth Business Division and have been working to reinforce it, albeit progress has been slow.”

In reality, without Wen Yan’s attention, Bai Xiaosheng wouldn’t even have found thirty people.

”In any case, Wen Yan, I need support here!” Bai Xiaosheng earnestly stated, ”In public and private affairs, this time, I have to confront Caroline and Vice Chairman Morgan head-on, and you need to stand with me at headquarters!”

Regarding this matter, Wen Yan did not hesitate, ”No doubt, I naturally stand by your side. The Zhenbei Group has suffered from these disasters for too long. It’s time they are held accountable!”

Listening to Wen Yan’s decisive words, Bai Xiaosheng felt greatly comforted.

After some exchange between the two, the call was ended.

Not to mention Bai Xiaosheng’s side for a moment, Wen Yan immediately instructed Ruan Yu to gather the core personnel within the department to attend a secret meeting at his location.

Within two minutes, everyone had gathered, showcasing the department’s efficiency.

After closing the doors, and looking at these trusted subordinates he had promoted, Wen Yan succinctly shared the major issue identified by Bai Xiaosheng that urgently required personnel.

He did not divulge further, fearing any information leakage.

The urgent issue to resolve now is the manpower problem.

”How many available reserve personnel can be assigned?” Wen Yan asked.

The supervisor responsible for training immediately pinpointed specific figures.

”Deploy all to the Sixth Business Division!” Wen Yan decisively ordered.

Afterward, Wen Yan furrows his brow, murmuring, ”Still not enough.”

”We can dispatch support personnel from headquarters.” Someone suggested.

Others nodded in agreement.

Wen Yan shook his head directly, ”It’s still insufficient, and headquarters cannot lack liaison personnel. Besides, people here are used to sitting in offices, and their abilities differ quite significantly from front-line staff.”

Everyone present fell into silence once more; this situation had become quite challenging.

”Why not transfer personnel from other large zones of our department?” Someone tentatively suggested.

Someone immediately objected, ”They all have their own tasks, and arbitrarily transferring personnel would disrupt their individual planning arrangements.”

The group fell silent once more.

Employees of the Monitoring Department in each region often go to great lengths to ”embed” themselves within their enterprises, occasionally starting from scratch to reach leadership positions, with set objectives and arrangements. Disrupting this would inevitably waste prior efforts and prove unworthy.

Wen Yan frowned for a long time, eventually declaring firmly, ”Enough already!”

”This year and next, our department will suspend annual assessments and any individual evaluations!”

”Right now, proceed to arrange for half of the personnel from other regions in our department to be transferred to Bai Xiaosheng!”

Everyone present was surprised, looking at Wen Yan.

Wen Yan was a person strict and serious about getting things done, so such unorthodox behavior was unprecedented!

No one knew what major incident had occurred at Mr. Bai Xiaosheng’s place to cause Mr. Wen Yan to act this way.

”Understood!?”

Seeing no response for a long time, Wen Yan’s cold gaze swept over everyone’s faces.

”Understood!”

”Understood!”

Everyone present quickly nodded.

”Within three days, the first batch of people must depart!” Wen Yan issued the firm order in a tone that brooked no disagreement.

The crowd nodded once again.

However, someone soon hesitantly spoke up, ”But Mr. Wen Yan, many of the island nations where the Sixth Business Division is located have just been hit by typhoons and tsunamis, and only recently reopened air routes. Travelers from all over the world are flocking there, and flight tickets need to be booked a week or even several weeks in advance...”

Even if staff could be mobilized, getting there would be a difficult task.

Wen Yan thought for a moment and said in a deep voice, ”Then charter a flight to send them over! Announce externally that it’s a tour group; handle visas and such with your support!”

The crowd nodded repeatedly, already thinking about ways to execute the task.

For instance, the selection of the first batch of personnel could focus on employees from visa-free or visa-preferred countries for the destination...

”If there are no questions, the meeting is adjourned, get started on this right away.” Wen Yan waved his hand decisively.

Everyone nodded one after another and hurriedly left.

After the office was vacated, Ruan Yu came over and handed Wen Yan a cup of coffee.

”Xuanyan, are we really going to join forces with Bai Xiaosheng this time against Vice Chairman Morgan, regardless of cost?” Ruan Yu said worriedly, ”Isn’t that too risky!”

In the past, you could say there was conflict but without breaking ties completely.

Wen Yan gave her a smile, then slowly said, ”We’ve waited for so many years, endured for so many years, always saying the time wasn’t right, while allowing Morgan’s forces to grow stronger, leading to today’s unwieldy situation.”

”I’ve been keeping an eye on Bai Xiaosheng; you’ve seen his capabilities over time, he’s quite the whirlwind creator!”

”I don’t believe he made it into the group and got this far without support from behind.”

”Given that, this time I’ll go all out with him for the real deal!”

Wen Yan looked at Ruan Yu intently, ”If we win, both of us will ascend to even greater heights.”

”If we lose...”

Wen Yan affirmed, ”No, we don’t have that option!”

Elsewhere, Bai Xiaosheng was alone taking a car around the city when he found a star hotel and checked in.

Such matters shouldn’t require his attention, but since Lin Weiwei, Lei Ying were not around and everyone would need a place to stay, he naturally had to take personal charge.

This accommodation was not chosen at random; it was centrally located between the Golun International Subsidiary and Ice Spring Valley Company, with incredibly convenient transportation.

After settling everything, it was already near noon, and Bai Xiaosheng felt hungry, so he went to the hotel restaurant to eat.

No matter what, one must fill their stomach first.

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying also sent messages.

Lin Weiwei reported she was safe and having lunch with Yado, planning to head to the Golun International Subsidiary in the afternoon.

As for Lei Ying, he was monitoring Yado’s group, eating at a restaurant across the street from them.

Receiving the messages, Bai Xiaosheng felt more at ease.

While eating, at the table behind Bai Xiaosheng, seated back-to-back with him, was a plump, quite affluent-looking middle-aged man, drinking coffee while making a phone call.

”Mr. Jonas, are we still proceeding with our business? I’ve heard nothing from your side, and there’s been no movement from Golun, which puts me in a difficult position.”

This sentence caused Bai Xiaosheng’s hand holding the knife and fork to pause.

He remembered Jonas as the general manager of Ice Spring Valley Company.

This person also mentioned Golun International.

Is he someone linked to both sides?

He hadn’t expected to encounter such a person while dining!

Bai Xiaosheng continued cutting his steak nonchalantly, while also perked his ears to listen to what was being said behind him.
