Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2834: Chapter 1993: Huaxia Distinguished Guest

Under the leadership of Bai Xiaosheng, employees of the Inspection Department based in the island nation of Kajash all gathered in Domido City that evening.

Bai Xiaosheng booked a hall at the hotel where he was staying to host a welcome dinner for them.

After a few rounds of drinks and dishes, Bai Xiaosheng closed the doors and held a meeting with them, arranging and planning some matters meticulously.

Early the next morning.

While Bai Xiaosheng was having breakfast, he received a call from Zack.

”Mr. Bai, you mentioned yesterday that you would come to my place this morning. When do you plan to set off so I can prepare a car to pick you up?”

Zack’s voice was warm and enthusiastic over the phone.

He feared that Bai Xiaosheng, his major financial backer, might disappear, leaving him with empty joy. Hence, he was proactive from early on.

”Send a car? No need. I think we’ll arrive in about two hours.” Bai Xiaosheng glanced at the time and replied lazily.

”Then I look forward to your arrival!” Zack said cheerfully as he bid farewell to Bai Xiaosheng.

After hanging up the phone, the smile on Zack’s face slowly faded in his office.

At this moment, beside Zack was a young man, about thirty-something, with a proper appearance, who had been holding his breath and listening intently.

Seeing the call end, the young man couldn’t help but say to Zack, ”Father, do you really think that young Huaxia man has the ability to acquire or invest in our land?”

It must be known that those two pieces of land are incredibly valuable, enough to intersect with business giants like the Zhenbei Group and Golun International.

”Beno, are you doubting my judgment?”

Zack glanced at his son, displeased.

”Even that old fox Jonas from Ice Spring Valley Company couldn’t fool me, and you think a mere young man could mislead me?”

The young man named Beno quickly responded, ”I didn’t mean that, but after all, the two pieces of land we hold are worth a hundred billion US Dollars! As you said, the other party is roughly my age—can he make decisions this big? You say he must have a deep background, yet you still don’t know which family he comes from.”

Hearing his son say this, Zack furrowed his brow as well.

”Yesterday, I really had no doubt about him. I even used his phone to converse with several acquainted big business moguls to confirm his network. But as you mentioned, from start to finish, I haven’t learned much about him personally...”

”When he arrives later, observe him carefully. After all, we’re holding a gold mine, and there’s no guarantee that no one has ulterior motives!” Beno said.

Seeing his son repeatedly mentioning their wealth, Zack sighed and frowned, saying, ”How many times have I told you privately, yet you still don’t remember at all.”

Beno was taken aback, not understanding why his father suddenly got temperamental.

Zack continued to reprimand, ”Yes, those two pieces of land appreciated significantly in the past two years. If the increase remains unchanged, they might be valued at a hundred billion this year.”

”But didn’t we encounter a typhoon and tsunami, and with Kajash’s economic downturn over the past two years showing signs of crisis, the talk of a hundred billion might be a distant hope.”

”We continue to mention it just to boost morale among our employees and inflate our market value externally.”

”How could you truly believe it and keep bringing it up!”

Zack spoke with slight anger.

Having hyped this topic for so long, even his own son was confused and believed it.

Furthermore, even if it were a gold mine, you can’t dig a piece out to fill your stomach.

If the family business collapses, in the end, won’t they still have to embarrassingly sell off the land?

Rather than becoming a laughingstock then, it’s better to find a buyer or investor while things are still going well.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t be so eager to set his sights on that young Huaxia man.

Beno realized that his father was upset about him being arrogant, thinking he controlled high-value land.

Beno still felt a bit unconvinced. However, seeing his father’s hint of anger, he dared not argue on this matter and only said, ”In any case, when that Huaxia man arrives, we must scrutinize him carefully and not be deceived.”

Zack did not oppose this.

He waved at Beno and said, ”Go prepare. In any case, make sure the welcome ceremony appears solemn, and no mistakes are made.”

”Yes.” Beno nodded, said no more, and turned to leave.

Once the office was left with only Zack, he couldn’t help furrowing his brow, clasping his hands together to support his chin, pondering while muttering, ”That said, one cannot place all hopes on that Huaxia man. We must still contact those two parties. If there’s cooperation, we might earn enough to address our urgent needs.”

The ”cooperation” Zack mentioned was acting as a ”middleman” to bridge Golun International Subsidiary and Ice Spring Valley Company, helping them with fund lending.

He’d earn a commission for the help.

In fact, Golun Subsidiary could directly engage in fund lending with Ice Spring Valley Company. Why bother going through him, taking such a complex route, and whose pocket would the significantly increased profits end up in...?

These, Zack didn’t care about at all.

He believed he should abide by a businessman’s ”duty,” which is not to pry into what shouldn’t be pried into, and earn his share steadily.

But this time, the ”cooperation” that had been promised kept getting delayed, becoming more elusive, making Zack a bit restless.
