Super Rich by Doing as You Please

On National Highway 291, as Fu Baoying departed with the 5 billion promise from Xu Yun, Liang Yan, far away in Jiangcheng, once again received a call from an unfamiliar woman.

She immediately rushed back to her company and, in her office, met the beautiful woman standing before her: Wanqing.

She rubbed the bridge of her nose, a headache already forming.

As Liang Yan sized up Wanqing, Wanqing was also sizing up Liang Yan, the woman who was about to become her new boss.

’Beautiful, with a great figure and the alluring charm of a mature young woman.’

This was Wanqing’s first impression.

After a long moment of silence, Liang Yan, as the boss, took the initiative and asked, ”Alright, talk. What’s your relationship with Xu Yun? Where did you meet? How long have you known each other?”

”We’re friends. We met on Hong Kong Island about a week ago.”

Wanqing added, ”But I’m not from Hong Kong Island. I’m from Fujian.”

”Have you slept with Xu Yun?”

Wanqing didn’t know why she was asking, but the hostile look in her eyes made it clear she couldn’t tell the truth.

”No.”

”Whether you’ve slept with him or not, whatever your relationship, since he gave you my business card and sent you to me, I’m afraid I don’t have a choice but to take you in.”

Liang Yan continued, ”Do you have any prior acting experience?”

”No, I’ve only done some photo shoots for ads.”

”So, a complete rookie with no experience whatsoever.”

Liang Yan sighed. ”Alright, here’s the plan. I’ll give you half a month. Go to our training camp and learn the basics of acting from the instructors, along with the other students.

If you perform well and pass the evaluation, I’ll let you start by playing the female lead in a short drama.”

”Thank you, President Liang.”

Liang Yan stared at her and warned, ”One more thing. Don’t think that just because Xu Yun sent you, or because you have some special relationship with him, that I’ll give you preferential treatment.

If you want to make a name for yourself in this company, get good resources, and eventually land a leading role in a TV series or movie, you’ll have to rely on your own talent and hard work. Understand?”

”I understand.”

Wanqing said humbly, ”Thank you, President Liang, for giving me this opportunity.”

”Alright, that’s all then.”

Liang Yan called for her assistant. When she came over, Liang Yan instructed her, ”In a bit, show her around the company and handle the contract signing procedures.”

”Yes, President Liang.”

Just before Wanqing left, Liang Yan suddenly asked, ”By the way, do you know where Xu Yun is right now?”

”I don’t know where he is now.”

Wanqing said, ”He was traveling on Hong Kong Island a week ago.”

”He didn’t tell you?”

”No.”

”I heard that a while ago on Hong Kong Island, a tourist from the Mainland with the surname Xu won over 200 million from betting on horses. Was that him?”

Wanqing hesitated for a moment before answering, ”Yes.”

”I see.” On the surface, Liang Yan appeared calm, but inwardly, her mind was reeling in shock, like crashing waves.

Just from seeing the back of his silhouette in the news photos, she had thought it looked like him. But now, having it confirmed by someone in person, it still felt unbelievable.

’Damn,’ she thought. ’He can casually make over 200 million for himself while on vacation.’

’Making money is just too easy for him!’

’And here I am, running around every day, working myself to the bone just to earn a tiny fraction of that!’

After digesting this news, she stared at Wanqing and advised, ”In the future, if anyone else asks you about Xu Yun, it’s best you don’t say anything. He doesn’t like women who talk too much. I’m telling you this for your own good.”

Wanqing was speechless.

After making arrangements for Wanqing, Liang Yan sat in her office for a while before getting up, leaving, and driving directly to Su Mu’s company.

Ning Qian saw Liang Yan walk in and came forward to greet her. ”Hello, President Liang.”

If it had been the receptionist at any other company, Liang Yan would have, at most, given a polite smile and a nod without stopping to acknowledge them.

But Ning Qian was no ordinary receptionist.

Thanks to her connection with Xu Yun, her status in this company was likely the highest, second only to Su Mu and Yu Xuan.

So Liang Yan stopped, walked right up to the front desk, and said with a smile, ”Sister Ning, is your President Su in?”

”She is.”

Ning Qian said, ”I’ll take you to her now.”

”No need, I can just go find her myself. You don’t have to take me.”

With that, Liang Yan walked off, crossing the main hall and heading up to Su Mu’s office on the second floor.

Su Mu looked at Liang Yan barging in and said with displeasure, ”President Liang, you seem to think this is your own company. You just show up whenever you want without even calling ahead?”

”What about it?”

Liang Yan found a chair for herself, dropped her bag on it, and said sarcastically, ”Is it because Xu Yun isn’t home, so you’re secretly keeping a boy toy here at the office? Afraid I’d catch you?”

”I’m not as desperate as you.”

Su Mu raised an eyebrow at her and said, ”Spit it out. What’s the important business that made you suddenly come rushing over here?”

”Hey, Su, you’d better fix that attitude. I’m here today to talk about Xu Yun.”

Su Mu gloated, ”What did he do to you this time?”

”You have no idea.”

Liang Yan immediately started complaining, ”He’s only been gone for half a month, and he’s already sent two women to my company, each one more beautiful than the last.

Can’t you control your man? Tell him to stop picking up stray women. If this keeps up, my entertainment company is going to turn into his personal fish pond.”

”I can’t control him.”

Su Mu laughed. ”If you have something to say, tell him yourself.”

”I’d love to, but I haven’t been able to reach him lately.”

”I can’t reach him either.”

Su Mu spread her hands. ”I have no idea where he’s been lately.”

”I actually know a little something about that.”

Liang Yan said, ”The woman who came in today just got back from Hong Kong Island. That means he was on Hong Kong Island a week ago.”

”What’s her relationship with him?”
