Super Rich by Doing as You Please

In fact, during this time, each of Xu Yun’s women had, at one point or another, received her own fan.

They all thought it was a special gift meant only for them, and they treasured it happily.

They believed they were the one and only in Xu Yun’s heart.

Only Yu Xuan discovered the truth.

As Xu Yun’s secretary and de facto housekeeper, she was often around these women, handling various matters for him.

She first discovered this when she went to Su Mu’s office one day and inadvertently saw a fan that looked almost identical to her own.

Only the inscription was different.

When Su Mu saw her staring at the fan, she smiled and asked, ”Did he give you one?”

Because Su Mu knew about the nature of her relationship with Xu Yun.

Yu Xuan lied, shaking her head and saying he hadn’t. She could clearly see the other woman’s face brighten a little. Su Mu then put the fan away in her drawer, taking it out from time to time to admire it.

Furthermore, back at the residence, she saw that the receptionist, Ning Qian, also had one.

Next, she found an opportunity to drop by Li Jinshu’s place.

Sure enough, in her office, she also found a fan from Xu Yun.

Afterward, she successively discovered that Jiang Peiyao, Song Xiaowei, and the others all had one as well.

Through this incident, Yu Xuan came to understand something.

Any woman who received such a fan had a relationship with Xu Yun that was anything but ordinary.

’It’s like some kind of status symbol.’

Yu Xuan couldn’t help but worry what it would be like if one day all these women gathered together and pulled out their fans.

Fortunately, for now, none of them knew, and no one was showing it off in front of the others.

Today, Yu Xuan accompanied Jiang Peiyao to an orphanage outside the city.

Because Xu Yun’s Cloud Charity Organization had officially begun its support here. Or rather, thanks to the efforts of Jiang Peiyao and Yu Xuan, they had already completed the acquisition of this children’s orphanage.

As of today, this private orphanage, which had been founded and run by its dean, had successfully become a welfare center under Xu Yun’s charity organization.

From now on, the management rights, decision-making authority, and all daily funding would be fully handled by the Cloud Charity Organization.

In reality, however, the daily management of the welfare center would still be handled by the original dean, Dean He.

Today was the first day of the acquisition and also the Cloud Charity Organization’s first project. A ceremony was in order, and taking some photos would be useful for future publicity.

Early in the morning, Jiang Peiyao and Yu Xuan brought over a lot of toys, and Jiang Peiyao also brought her younger brother along.

Since they had started decorating the day before, the small playground at the welfare center was now adorned with balloons, colorful streamers, firecrackers, and party poppers.

The children were all dressed in new, matching clothes.

After communicating with a partner school, the number of volunteer student teachers had increased from one to two early childhood educators.

They had also hired a professional photographer to document the moment.

All in all, it was a world of difference from before. The atmosphere at the welfare center was even more festive than it used to be for the New Year.

Once Yu Xuan had everything ready outside, Jiang Peiyao, as the current head of the charity organization, was called out along with Dean He, who managed the welfare center.

The two of them then stood before a new plaque, faced the photographer’s camera, and picked up scissors to cut the ribbon.

Led by their teachers, the children clapped happily.

A string of firecrackers then went off, scaring the children into scurrying far away, covering their ears with their hands as they watched with curiosity.

The entire scene was captured by the photographer.

After the firecrackers died down, the children scattered like freed doves, playing and laughing with their toys on the small playground.

”President Jiang, thank you.”

Dean He looked at the scene before her, weeping with joy. ”Thank you for helping these children.”

Jiang Peiyao watched her younger brother running and playing happily on the playground just like the other children. ”It has nothing to do with me,” she said. ”It was President Xu. It’s all his money.”

”President Xu is a good man. I could tell from the very first day I met him.”

Dean He said, ”Not only that, he’s also a man of action. I trust him, which is why I was willing to hand this place over to you. Even when I’m old and gone, someone will be here to keep it going.”

”Don’t worry, Dean He.”

Jiang Peiyao said, ”As long as I’m in charge of this organization, I won’t let anything happen to it.”

”Miss Jiang, may I ask you a personal question?”

”Go ahead, Dean.”

”Are you President Xu’s girlfriend?”

The reason Dean He asked this was because of Xino.

Although Jiang Peiyao was a very nice girl, Dean He, for both emotional and logical reasons, was more inclined toward Xino, who had taken notice of and helped them earlier.

Besides, it was Xino who had brought Xu Yun here in the first place.

”No.”

Jiang Peiyao hesitated for a moment before denying it. ”I’m not good enough for him.”

”It’s not about being good enough or not. In my eyes, you’re good enough for anyone.”

Having gotten her answer, Dean He consoled her, ”It’s just that with matters of the heart, there’s no standard. Sometimes, it all comes down to fate. The order in which people appear in one’s life often changes the outcome.”

”You’re good at comforting people, Dean.”

Jiang Peiyao changed the subject. Looking at the still-dirt playground, she brought up the issue of environmental improvements.

She said, ”According to the plan, a construction crew will be coming soon to start renovating the playground. It will be built to the standards of a public kindergarten.”
