Super Rich by Doing as You Please

His latest move was even applying to establish a charitable organization with 10 million in startup capital.

In short, every single story about Xu Yun had been thoroughly investigated and laid out on the man’s desk.

Amidst all this information, besides getting a sense of Xu Yun’s financial power, the middle-aged man also noticed something.

It seemed all his ventures were managed by women.

Whether it was the company, the fitness center, or the newly established charitable organization, the person in charge was always a woman.

He was like a player hiding quietly behind the scenes, never showing his face.

However, for a seasoned veteran of the business world, these tactics of his weren’t particularly surprising; they were fairly standard procedures.

They certainly weren’t enough to make the man think highly of him.

What he was truly puzzled and bewildered by was why Xu Yun’s life had suddenly changed!

Because his spending power was a complete mismatch for his stated ordinary family background!

This meant there might be a problem with the information itself!

The man considered himself to have decent connections in Jiangcheng, yet despite expending so much effort, he still couldn’t find the root of the issue.

This meant one of two things: either he had found the genuine information, or he had been fed the fake information meant for public consumption.

If it was the second possibility, then Xu Yun’s true information was being protected, or hidden, by an even more powerful force.

The unknown is what is most terrifying, what inspires the most dread.

Fortunately, the man wasn’t his enemy at the moment. He had even sent tea as a gesture of goodwill!

This was also why he had started to see Xu Yun as a potential solution, hoping to use him to achieve his goal of divesting parts of his own business empire.

However, only he knew about this plan; he wouldn’t be telling his wife and children.

As for whether the plan could proceed—whether Xu Yun could become his son-in-law or, failing that, a business partner—he would have to wait until the young man’s first visit to their home. He could only make a decision after having a proper talk with him.

’After this trip, I have to find a way to get my daughter to invite him over.’

Meanwhile, Xu Yun, the subject of Xino’s father’s thorough investigation, had arrived at the office.

Everyone else had already gone home for the day. He headed straight for Su Mu’s office.

Su Mu was bent over some documents.

That afternoon, that woman, Liang Yan, had come to see her with a proposal. She wanted to partner up and establish a film company.

The shares would be split sixty-forty: her own Baiyun Media would hold sixty percent, and Liang Yan’s clothing company would hold forty.

She had also handed over a detailed business plan for the project, telling Su Mu to look it over and give her an answer.

Hearing the door open, she looked up and saw Xu Yun.

She put down the documents in her hand and smiled. ”What brings you to the office?”

”Brought you some coffee.”

Xu Yun placed the coffee on her desk and asked, ”What are you reading so intently?”

”Liang Yan’s project proposal.”

Su Mu replied, ”She dropped by this afternoon wanting to partner with me to open a film company. Our company would get sixty percent, her company forty. What do you think?”

”I don’t know anything about business, don’t ask me.”

Xu Yun said, ”If you think it’s a good idea, then do it. If not, then don’t. The decision is yours.”

”Producing films and TV shows isn’t like other businesses. It requires a lot of capital.”

Su Mu said, ”With our current capital and her limited resources, it’ll probably be difficult.”

”It’s okay if you don’t have the money. Just find investors.”

Xu Yun smiled. ”As long as you two do it, I’m willing to be the first investor for your first film or TV show. I’ll cover whatever you’re short.”

”Really?”

”When have I ever joked with you?”

Su Mu looked at Xu Yun and asked probingly, ”Be honest with me, you didn’t put her up to this, did you? Why else would she be so kind as to let me take a sixty-percent stake?”

”No, I really didn’t.”

Xu Yun denied it. ”Don’t think so badly of her. Maybe she’s making a concession because she doesn’t have enough capital?”

”Now that you mention it, that is a possibility.”

’With a big money-man like Xu Yun behind me, as long as I agree, even if the project runs out of money and filming has to stop, Xu Yun will probably step in.’

’Liang Yan really knows how to play her cards right.’

”Since you put it that way, I guess I’ll agree to her proposal.”

Su Mu put the proposal down, stood up, grabbed her bag, and said, ”Let’s go. Time for dinner.”

Xu Yun said, ”It’s still early. How about we eat at home? I haven’t had your cooking in so long.”

”Alright, I’ll indulge you this one time.”

Su Mu smiled. ”Then you can come with me to the supermarket to buy groceries.”

”You got it.”

And so, the two of them drove to a nearby supermarket to do some shopping.

At the checkout counter, Su Mu looked at the items on a nearby shelf. Thinking about something they were out of at home, she quietly grabbed a box of condoms and slipped it into the cart, just in case.

But Xu Yun saw her.

”Just one box? Who are you looking down on?”

Not the least bit shy, he brazenly grabbed another box right in front of the cashier and tossed it in.

”These are the good ones, the 0.01 ultra-thin series.”

Su Mu was speechless.

Sensing the female cashier’s expression—desperately trying not to laugh—she bit the bullet and paid, then grabbed Xu Yun and quickly fled the scene.

Once they were alone, she said, half-furious and half-embarrassed, ”You did that on purpose, didn’t you!”

”Not at all. I was just being honest.”

Xu Yun smiled. ”After all, it concerns my experience too. Can’t be careless about it.”

”Fine. One box isn’t enough, but two is, right?”

Su Mu shot him a look and said with a challenging smile, ”If you don’t use them all tonight, then you’re not a man.”

Xu Yun was speechless.

’Ah, I should have bought more oysters!’
