Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Xu Yun grumbled, ”If I hadn’t just gone through two tough rounds, you’d be in for it.”

Annoyed as he was, he still finished a large cup of goji berry tea, then went out onto the balcony. Facing the morning air, he practiced a round of the Eight Pieces of Brocade.

He finally started to feel like himself again!

He sat on the sofa and had just pulled out his phone to play for a bit when his mother, thousands of miles away, started a video call.

It would have been fine if he hadn’t answered, but the moment he did, something came up.

Zhang Sujuan said, ”Son, your uncle drove to Jiangcheng today.”

”What’s he coming for? A business trip?”

”No, he’s coming specifically to see you.”

Zhang Sujuan said, ”I only just found out myself. He called me a moment ago asking for your address and contact information.”

”Wait, what’s he coming to see me for?”

”What else? It’s about that business with your cousin. She wants to come work at your company.”

”...” Xu Yun.

If his mom hadn’t brought it up, he would have completely forgotten about it.

”Alright, I get it.”

Xu Yun was about to hang up when Chen Xin suddenly appeared on the screen.

”Xu Yun.”

”Here, you two talk.” Zhang Sujuan handed the phone to Chen Xin and stepped aside.

Xu Yun asked with a smile, ”What are you doing at my house?”

”I came over to help Yaya tidy up the house.”

Chen Xin smiled. ”I just received the Louis Vuitton bag you mailed me. I love it, but it’s a little expensive.”

”As long as you like it, that’s all that matters.”

Xu Yun said, ”I was just passing by the other day and saw it. I thought it looked nice, so I just bought it and mailed it to you.”

”Son, how come you didn’t buy one for me?”

Zhang Sujuan deliberately teased from the side, ”Your old mom is getting jealous, you know.”

”Mom, be fair. I tried to buy you things, but you never want them.”

Xu Yun argued, ”Besides, when have I not spent money on you? Didn’t I buy you a whole street right before I left? Isn’t that enough?”

”Oh, that’s right. I do own a street.”

Zhang Sujuan glanced at Chen Xin and said with a meaningful smile, ”In the future, whoever you marry, I’ll give this to my future daughter-in-law as part of her dowry.”

”...” Xu Yun.

’When did Mom get so generous?’

The truth was, Zhang Sujuan was just like him.

After getting used to the fact that her son was rich, her mindset had slowly and subtly begun to change. Her thinking was no longer as simple and conservative as before, and she stopped living so cautiously.

While still holding to the principle of not being extravagant or wasteful, she began to learn how to accept and enjoy some of the habits that came with a wealthy lifestyle.

They say money changes a person, and it’s not for nothing; there’s certainly some truth to it.

Xu Yun was the most obvious example of this change. His confidence and aura were different from one day to the next.

「Meanwhile, in an office at Jianghuai Middle School.」

Every day, Gao Wenwen would receive a large bouquet of roses without fail.

Although there was never a card with the flowers, she knew exactly who sent them.

Everyone else also knew whose handiwork this was.

It had to be the rich second-generation boyfriend who bought her the storefront.

Today, not long after arriving at school and receiving her flowers, she got a call from a delivery driver telling her she had a package to pick up.

She initially asked him to leave it at the school’s security office so she could get it when she was free.

But the delivery driver refused.

He said it was a rather valuable package and he couldn’t afford to replace it if it got lost, so he had to hand it to her in person.

’A valuable package?’

’I haven’t bought anything expensive recently!’

Full of curiosity, Gao Wenwen went to the school gate to sign for the package before returning to her office.

”Teacher Gao, what did you buy this time?” someone asked with a smile.

”I don’t know. I haven’t bought anything recently.”

Gao Wenwen replied, ”He even said it was something quite valuable and that I had to sign for it in person.”

”You don’t think it’s a scam, do you?”

Her colleague said, ”I heard there’s a new type of scam going around. They mail you something random with a card inside that asks you to scan a QR code to claim a red envelope.”

”Really?”

”But this doesn’t look like that.”

Her colleague took another look and analyzed, ”The outer packaging on this is quite nice, not like a regular package. Maybe your boyfriend bought it for you?”

For the past half-month, all the teachers at school knew about Gao Wenwen’s boyfriend. A bouquet of flowers every day—it was so romantic.

But they only ever saw the flowers, never the man himself. He was incredibly mysterious.

However, according to the teacher who went with her to buy the storefront that day, he was tall and handsome, like a leading man from a TV drama.

Hearing the word ”boyfriend,” Gao Wenwen froze for a moment.

’Could it really be him?’

”Oh, well, whatever it is, just open it and you’ll find out.”

Her colleague sat to the side, a gossipy look on her face. ”I’m also really curious what kind of gift is inside.”

Gao Wenwen started to tear open the outer packaging, immediately revealing a classic Louis Vuitton box.

It wasn’t large, but it wasn’t small either.

Her colleague said in surprise, ”Is that... LV?”

”I think so.”

Gao Wenwen continued to open the box, and inside lay a delicate and petite shoulder bag.

It looked just big enough to hold a phone and a few other small items.

”It really is a Louis Vuitton bag!”

Her colleague exclaimed, ”No wonder the delivery driver was so cautious! He really couldn’t have afforded to replace it if it got lost.”

”...” Gao Wenwen.

The colleague looked at the bag, her eyes filled with envy. ”Teacher Gao, your boyfriend is just too good to you.”

They were all women in their twenties who had recently graduated from university. Who wouldn’t want a bag like that?

”Teacher Gao, hurry and see how much the bag cost!”

Inside the box were the receipt, the certificate of authenticity, and all the other documents. It was as real as it gets.
