Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Seeing that she wasn’t bringing up work, Zhang Lixin said, ”President Su, we can skip the entertainment. Xu Yun should have told you, my daughter...”

”Mr. Zhang, there’s no rush to talk about work. We can discuss it anytime. It doesn’t have to be right now.”

Su Mu cut him off, walked over to take Zhang Yufei’s hand, and said warmly, ”But as the host, I must first fulfill my duties. I’d hate for Xu Yun to come back and chew me out for not taking good care of you.”

”Alright then. Thank you, President Su.”

Su Mu turned to Ning Qian beside her and said, ”In a bit, go and book the best hotel for his uncle and cousin. This afternoon, take our cousin on a proper tour of Jiangcheng. You can front the money and get it reimbursed by finance when you get back.”

”Yes, President Su.”

Ning Qian acknowledged the order, then led the father and daughter out of the office, saying with a smile, ”This way, Mr. Zhang. I’ll take you to the hotel to get you checked in first. I’ll pick you up again this afternoon.”

”Okay, Miss Ning.”

The father and daughter exchanged a look. Faced with such enthusiasm, they could only go along with it for now. The job would have to wait until tomorrow.

After leaving the company building, just as Zhang Lixin was about to ask Ning Qian whether she preferred the front or back seat, she said, ”Mr. Zhang, you can just follow me in your car.”

Then, under their gaze, Ning Qian got into the red Ferrari.

’So that car is hers.’

Zhang Lixin: ”...”

Zhang Yufei: ”...”

’A receptionist making thirty thousand a month is one thing, but she even drives a Ferrari!’

He glanced at his old Volkswagen sedan. ’It’s infuriating when you start making comparisons.’

Zhang Yufei said with a hint of envy, ”Miss Ning, your car is gorgeous. How much did it cost?”

”As if I could afford it.”

Ning Qian replied, ”President Xu saw it was inconvenient for me to commute without a car, so he assigned this one to me.”

Zhang Yufei said in surprise, ”The company provides Porsches too? The benefits here are incredible.”

This only strengthened her resolve to work at the company.

She also regretted not getting on better terms with her cousin, Xu Yun, over the years. Otherwise, she would have long been living a life with an annual salary in the hundreds of thousands, driving a luxury car.

After touring the company, Zhang Lixin now had a clear understanding of the capabilities of Xu Yun and his business partners.

’That kid, Xu Yun, has really made it big!’

An hour later, after getting the father and daughter settled into a five-star hotel, Ning Qian returned to the company.

Su Mu asked, ”Is everything taken care of?”

”It’s taken care of.”

”I’ll have to trouble you to entertain them this afternoon and tomorrow.”

Su Mu continued, ”I was originally going to ask Yu Xuan to do it, since she’s familiar with this sort of thing, but it seems she’s busy with other tasks Xu Yun gave her and doesn’t have the time.”

”It’s no problem. I’d just be sitting around the office with nothing to do anyway.”

Ning Qian asked doubtfully, ”President Su, are we really not letting his cousin join the company?”

”What else?”

Su Mu said irritably, ”He didn’t want to be the bad guy, so he ran off to have fun with some other woman and left me to deal with this.”

”...” Ning Qian.

’She wouldn’t dare respond to a comment like that.’

”One more thing, Ning Qian.”

Su Mu said suddenly, ”From now on, when we’re alone at the company, you can call me ’sister’ just like Xu Yun does. I’m a few years older than you, so it’s not like I’m taking advantage of you.”

Without waiting for Ning Qian to agree, she turned and left.

Ning Qian watched Su Mu’s retreating figure, feeling there was a hidden meaning in her words, that she was hinting at something.

’Perhaps that ’sister’ wasn’t just about our age difference, but also about our difference in status!’

Although Ning Qian felt unwilling to accept it, she didn’t dare to challenge it.

’She was afraid that in Xu Yun’s heart, she wasn’t as important as Su Mu!’

Besides, it seemed like there were more and more women around Xu Yun lately.

’Just thinking about how to maintain my current position and not get cast aside is exhausting. I have neither the ability nor the courage to vie for the queen’s seat.’

Take Su Mu, Li Jinshu, Chen Xin, and Yu Xuan—any single one of them was more outstanding than her.

’Sigh, I should just focus on how to handle that father-daughter duo.’

Even though Su Mu was the one who gave the order, it was a task from Xu Yun, so she had to do it perfectly.
