Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Xu Yun answered, ”Her diamond pendant necklace seems to have a problem. We need you to take a look and see if it can be repaired.”

”Of course.”

The store manager looked at Jian Shiwai and said with a smile, ”Ma’am, would you mind taking off your necklace so our specialist can have a look?”

Jian Shiwai took off her necklace, placed it in the manager’s hand, and said, ”Thank you for your trouble.”

”It’s no trouble at all. Any friend of Mr. Xu’s is a friend of ours. Please wait just a moment.”

The manager took the necklace and headed toward the repair department.

A few moments later, she returned with the necklace in hand.

”Miss Jian, your necklace can be repaired, but it will take some time.”

The manager continued, ”Actually, I have a better suggestion. You could do a trade-in.

You could leave your old necklace with us, add a little extra money, and get a brand-new one.

We just received a new shipment of diamond pendant necklaces that are quite beautiful. You could take a look and try one on.”

With that, the manager led the two of them to the display counter.

”Miss Jian, take a look. See anything you like? I can take it out for you to try.”

To be honest, the necklaces in the display case were much more beautiful than the one she had bought several years ago.

But the prices were also much higher. The cheapest one cost seventy or eighty thousand.

The most expensive one was as much as 150,000.

For her, that price was far too extravagant.

’I can’t afford it. Not even close.’

It wasn’t that the manager was trying to rip her off by deliberately showing her such expensive necklaces.

Rather, with Xu Yun present and seeing Jian Shiwai carrying a Louis Vuitton bag, she had subconsciously assumed she could afford them, misjudging her spending power.

To avoid embarrassment, Jian Shiwai was about to find a tactful reason to refuse, but Xu Yun, who was standing beside her, saw right through her and interrupted.

”Take out your most expensive one for her to try on.”

”Right away, Mr. Xu.” Hearing this, the manager was ecstatic.

’Mr. Xu never disappoints. He always goes big.’

She quickly took out the most expensive diamond pendant necklace and carefully put it on Jian Shiwai.

She then complimented her, ”It’s gorgeous, Miss Jian. This necklace truly suits you. It’s as if it were custom-made for you.”

Jian Shiwai was speechless.

’Good grief, you’ll really say anything to meet your sales quota, won’t you!’

”It is nice. Much better looking than your old one.”

Xu Yun nodded in agreement after a glance.

He said to the manager, ”Alright, we’ll take this one. You don’t need to take it off. Just ring it up and we’ll pay by card.”

”President Xu, I...”

Jian Shiwai was astonished that Xu Yun would buy her a 180,000-yuan diamond necklace just like that.

”Don’t try to refuse. Just consider it payment for accompanying me on my trip.”

Xu Yun teased, ”So you’d better take good care of me along the way.”

Jian Shiwai was at a loss for words.

’I haven’t even gone on the trip with Xu Yun yet, and he’s already given me a Louis Vuitton bag worth over a hundred thousand and a diamond necklace worth 180,000.’

’No wonder he’s never short of women, and so many of them are willing to follow him devotedly.’

’Faced with an assault like this, what woman could possibly resist?’

’And here I was, thinking I could slowly get him under my thumb.’

’What’s there to get a handle on now!’

’If Xu Yun does this a few more times, I’d be a fool not to climb into his bed myself.’

As the pair, having just paid, walked out of the store, their backs were spotted by the father-daughter duo, Zhang Lixin and Zhang Yufei.

It turned out that earlier in the afternoon, Ning Qian had brought the father and daughter to Guotai Mall.

But their main activity was window shopping, not buying.

If anything was to be bought, the two of them had to pay for it themselves. Ning Qian played dumb the whole time, acting only as their tour guide.

Although Su Mu had told her that all of the pair’s expenses could be reimbursed by her...

...she knew those were just words Su Mu said for their benefit. She could listen, but she couldn’t take them seriously.

After all, judging by Xu Yun’s attitude...

...his relationship with his uncle and cousin didn’t seem to be very good.

Otherwise, Xu Yun would have long since agreed to let his cousin work at the company and wouldn’t be hiding and having Su Mu greet them instead.

Zhang Yufei called out, ”Dad, look! Isn’t that Cousin Xu Yun?”

”Where?”

”Over there.”

Zhang Lixin turned his head and only saw a man and a woman walking side-by-side in the other direction.

”You know, from the back, it really does look a bit like him.”

Although they were quite far away, Ning Qian, like Zhang Yufei, had naturally caught a glimpse of his side profile.

Unlike the father and daughter’s uncertainty, she was one hundred percent certain that it was Xu Yun. As for the woman beside him, she didn’t recognize her.

”Mr. Zhang, you must be mistaken.”

Ning Qian quickly said with a smile, ”It’s just someone who looks like him. Our President Xu is on a business trip out of town right now. Why would he be here?”

”That’s true.”

Zhang Lixin added, ”Yufei, you were probably mistaken.”

”Mr. Zhang, Miss Zhang.”

To prevent another chance encounter, Ning Qian said, ”We’ve seen Guotai Mall, so now let me take you to our food street. It has lots of specialty snacks from all over the country. You can even bring some back for your wife to try.”

”Okay, we’ll follow Miss Ning’s arrangements.”

The father and daughter didn’t care in the slightest about what they ate, where they had fun, or what they saw. Their minds were still preoccupied with the matter of the job.

After all, as long as the job was secured and they were earning money and living in Jiangcheng, they could visit these places anytime, couldn’t they?

Xu Yun had no idea that he had just narrowly avoided running into his uncle and cousin.
