Super Rich by Doing as You Please

After dealing with the White Bone Spirit, Xu Yun was exhausted.

He suddenly had a taste of the troubles faced by the Emperors of old.

’I only have a few women right now, and I already feel like I can’t handle them all. One can only imagine an Emperor’s three thousand concubines.’

’Even if the historical accounts exaggerated, and you divided that number by ten, that’s still 300 women.’

’Most of them were probably just one-offs. He’d sleep with them and then just forget about them, tossing them aside to be sequestered in the inner palace.’

’The ones he kept by his side long-term probably numbered only a few.’

’After all, love might be infinite, but one’s body and energy are finite. It’s impossible to be perfectly fair to everyone.’

Xu Yun began to reflect, feeling he had enough women for now. He couldn’t take on any more.

’Of course, this didn’t mean he wouldn’t touch other women in the future. He wasn’t that self-disciplined.’

’It just meant that for any women he met in the future, he wouldn’t keep them around and provide for them. It would be a mutually consensual affair, and the morning after, they would go their separate ways.’

But before he left on his trip, he still had to go to Su Mu’s House to ”fix the water heater.”

Otherwise, after she had played the villain for his sake today, she’d be upset if he didn’t go and comfort her.

So, just as dusk fell, Li Jinshu watched Xu Yun get ready to leave again, feeling utterly frustrated.

”It’s already nighttime, where are you going? Can’t you stay and spend one night with me?”

”You think I’m like you, with a man to support me.”

Xu Yun patted her butt and said with a smile, ”I have to go out and make money, or else we’ll both starve.”

”Isn’t Sister Su making money for you?”

Li Jinshu said, ”Besides, once my fitness center opens, I’ll be helping you make money too.”

”If I relied on those two little workshops of yours, I’d starve sooner or later.”

Xu Yun said, ”I still have to make my own money.”

’Damn him!’

’My fitness center has an investment of nearly ten million, and Sister Su’s company is worth tens of millions, yet he dared to call them ’little workshops.’’

’If my old boss heard that, he’d probably burst into tears.’

’After all, the man had toiled diligently for decades, and his business didn’t even come close to what Xu Yun dismissed as a ’little workshop.’’

Seeing that Xu Yun was insistent on leaving, Li Jinshu knew it was best not to press the issue.

’A woman who’s unreasonable and pesters a man isn’t attractive, especially a ’part-timer’ like her, who doesn’t have any official status.’

Li Jinshu helped Xu Yun get dressed, walked him to the door, and they shared a farewell kiss.

As he was about to leave, Li Jinshu asked, ”Can I get a pet for the house?”

”A cat is fine, but no dogs!”

”Why?”

Xu Yun laughed. ”Back in school, I watched too many depraved short films with my friends. Whenever I see a woman and a dog together, my mind subconsciously goes there, and it kind of grosses me out.”

”...”

Once she understood what he meant, Li Jinshu’s face flushed beet-red. She said, a mix of shame and anger in her voice, ”You have such a filthy mind! No matter how desperate a person is, it wouldn’t lead to... what you’re suggesting.”

”Haven’t you seen the news? There was that story about a woman who had to go to the hospital because she couldn’t... get it out.”

Xu Yun sighed. ”So it’s not me who’s dirty, it’s this messed-up world.”

”...” Li Jinshu was speechless.

After hearing what Xu Yun said, she couldn’t help but think of a former female colleague of hers.

The colleague owned a very large dog, a male at that.

Before, Jinshu hadn’t thought anything of it. She even felt that for a woman living alone, having a dog around provided a great sense of security.

But now, after hearing Xu Yun’s comments, she couldn’t look at the situation the same way. What was once perfectly innocent now seemed... loaded.

”Forget it. I wasn’t planning on getting a dog anyway, even before you said all that.”

Li Jinshu said, ”I just want to get a British Shorthair, so it can keep me company when you’re not around.”

”Okay.”

...

Xino and Yan Can spent the entire day on a massive shopping spree at the mall.

They bought everything they could possibly think of that they might need on the road.

Yan Can’s trunk was stuffed completely full.

For this road trip, he had swapped his Bentley Bentayga with a friend’s Jeep Wrangler.

Before it got dark, he dropped Xino off and then headed home.

When Xino got home, her mom saw her and asked with a smile, ”Out shopping again? My credit card notifications have been going off nonstop, a new text every few minutes.”

Although none of the charges were very large, there were quite a lot of them.

”Mom, I’m leaving on a trip with my friends tomorrow, so of course I need to prepare some things to bring along.”

”To be honest, I really don’t want you to go.”

The woman said worriedly, ”A young woman like you, going away for so long... I just can’t help but worry.”

”Mom, I’m not a child anymore.”

Xino smiled. ”Besides, I’m not going alone. My friends will be there, and so will Yan Can.”

”That ’friend’ you mentioned... that’s the boy you like, isn’t it?”

”Mhm.”

Xino admitted it freely. ”If it were for anyone else, I wouldn’t even want to go.”

”Sigh... you, child. You’ve never listened to us your whole life. There’s just no handling you.”

Her mother said, ”I went to the bank and had your credit card upgraded today. I raised the credit limit, just in case you run into a situation on your trip where you need money.”

”Thanks, Mom! You’re the best.” Xino hugged her mother and gave her a big kiss on the cheek.

Her mother laughed. ”Alright, alright, you’re getting me all slobbery.”

”Hehe...”

”By the way, why hasn’t your brother been coming home to sleep lately? Whenever I ask him to come home for dinner, he says he’s working overtime and can’t make it.”

”Of course he wouldn’t dare come back.”

”Hm? What’s wrong with your brother?”

Xino couldn’t help but laugh. ”He’s probably too embarrassed. Apparently, he accidentally walked into something yesterday and got a black eye, haha...”

”...” Her mother was speechless.

”Alright, Mom, I’ve gotta go. I’m going to my room to pack my things.”
