This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

There were only one or two of them, but they disgusted Du Heng.

Du Heng didn’t have the patience to deal with them at this moment. He simply waved them off and let them lie there if they wished.

”Auntie, your shoulder was dislocated from the impact. Bear with the pain; I’m going to perform a reduction now. Otherwise, if you wait too long, your shoulder will swell up.”

”Will it hurt?”

”Yes, it’ll hurt. Just bear with it.”

As he spoke, Du Heng took the Auntie’s arm, gently shook it a few times, and then suddenly twisted it back into place. A heart-wrenching scream was heard.

”It’s okay, Auntie. Stand up, walk to the railing outside, and let those women help you out.” Du Heng gestured to Li Qin and the others outside the railing as he spoke.

The Auntie hummed in pain and said, ”You’re really rough, young man.”

Du Heng shook his head and moved on to the next person lying on the ground and groaning.

”Auntie, stop wailing. Your rib is broken. The louder you cry, the more pain you’ll feel in your rib.”

”Ouch, ouch~~~ When the car flipped over, I felt the handrail press against my rib, so it really did break. Ouch, ouch~~~”

”Get up slowly, support yourself with your hand, and go outside the railing.”

”Can I move with a broken rib?”

”Yes, hurry up.”

Despite Du Heng’s urging, the Auntie was in too much pain to move. He had to help her up and slowly guide her to the railing.

After sending her off, Du Heng quickly returned and continued checking the others.

Since it was a bus full of elderly aunties on a tour, most of the injuries, besides muscle contusions and abrasions, were fractures and dislocations.

Du Heng immediately performed reductions for all the dislocations, but he didn’t dare to handle the fractures lightly.

”Husband, come quickly! There are three here that we don’t dare to move.” The windshield had been smashed in, and Wu Shengnan yelled out to Du Heng from the opening.

Hearing her call, Du Heng put down the Auntie with minor injuries he was attending to and hurried towards the front of the bus.

”Everyone, make way! My husband is a doctor. Let him take a look.” As soon as Du Heng arrived, Wu Shengnan had the few people who were assisting make room for him.

Du Heng entered the space and saw the first victim, a man.

Du Heng recognized him as the driver who had grabbed the steering wheel earlier.

At this point, he was lying diagonally, his head and body forming a ninety-degree angle, and there were traces of blood behind his head.

”Husband, this man should be the driver. At the time, there were seven or eight aunties on top of him; he was crushed underneath.”

Du Heng didn’t heed Wu Shengnan but quickly found an angle to get closer. He reached out and checked for breathing at the driver’s nose.

He’s breathing!

Du Heng quickly tried to unbuckle the driver’s seat belt, but the buckle seemed to have been damaged and wouldn’t release. Anxiously, Du Heng pried open a gap in the seatbelt. After securing the driver’s neck with one hand, he shouted, ”Someone, help me! Let’s drag him out slowly. Be gentle! His cervical vertebra is probably dislocated.”

Just as they started, the driver suddenly lurched backward. Du Heng’s hand supporting his neck almost slipped. He yelled, ”Can’t you hear me? Slower! Slower! Are you trying to save him or kill him? One wrong move and he could die or be paralyzed!”

With Du Heng’s shout, the driver was finally moved out of the driver’s seat slowly.

Once the driver was laid down outside, Du Heng still didn’t dare release his hand supporting the man’s neck. As the driver lay flat, his breathing gradually steadied and grew stronger. It was no longer as faint as before.

But now, Du Heng was sure that the driver indeed had a cervical dislocation.

He had suspected it earlier, but now he was sure.

He couldn’t help but marvel at the driver’s sheer luck.

If one of the aunties’ butts had been slightly more forward, his neck would have been broken on the spot.

He let out a breath and asked everyone to help find something to use as a makeshift brace. Carefully, bit by bit, he immobilized the driver’s neck. Once he was sure it wouldn’t move easily, he called over Feng Su’s short assistant. ”Watch him closely. Don’t let his neck move, don’t let anyone get near him, and don’t try to move him.”

”Mhm, mhm.”

The short assistant hurriedly nodded and agreed.

After making these arrangements, Du Heng rushed back into the bus.

The second patient was in the seat row behind the driver, still conscious and strapped in by her seatbelt. However, one of her arms was twisted at an unnatural, grotesque angle.

Du Heng glanced at the broken arm and the woman’s face, then gently asked, ”Ma’am, do you remember how this happened?”

”Yes, Ma Fangfang wasn’t wearing her seatbelt. When the car flipped, she landed squarely on my arm with her butt.”

”Which one is Ma Fangfang?” Du Heng asked curiously.

”She’s that short one, about 1.5 meters, weighs around 160 pounds, with the pockmarked, hideous face.”

I really shouldn’t have asked, Du Heng thought.

”Ma’am, does it still hurt right now?”

”I’m numb with pain, but it doesn’t hurt too much when I don’t move. So, I’ve been lying here, not daring to get up.”

As she spoke, Du Heng again looked at her lips and face, then turned to the helpers and said, ”Everyone, be just as slow and gentle as when you carried the driver out.”

The crowd felt something was off.

They had already carried out several patients with fractures but had never heard him emphasize being ”slow” and ”gentle” before.

Could it be...? they wondered.

No one spoke. Following Du Heng’s instructions, they slowly carried the woman out of the bus together.

She was cooperative, not crying out or making any noise.

When they set her down outside, she asked Du Heng softly, ”Young man, can you tell me if there’s something else wrong with me?”

Du Heng let out a quiet breath and gently pressed her upper right abdomen. The Auntie winced slightly at his touch, her brow furrowing. ”It hurts a little.”

Du Heng swallowed. ”Xiao Kang, bring my bag, quickly.”

”Bro, my butt hurts. I can’t move.”

Wu Shengnan immediately said, ”I’ll go.”

Watching Wu Shengnan run off, the Auntie quietly asked again, ”Young man, I have strong nerves. You can tell me frankly, what’s wrong with me?”

Du Heng pursed his lips and whispered, ”I suspect you may have a liver rupture. I don’t have many supplies on hand right now, so I can only try to control the hemorrhage with acupuncture first. I hope it will be somewhat effective.”

”Oh, you’re a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner? But can acupuncture really stop a hemorrhage?”

Feng Su’s assistant suddenly interjected, ”Ma’am, Doctor Du here has 10 million fans online, and his medical skills are extraordinary. Our boss’s tumor was treated by Doctor Du.

Look, our boss is right over there. He’s fine now and full of energy. You wouldn’t even be able to tell he had a tumor before.

So, Ma’am, just relax and trust Doctor Du. Doctor Du is just being modest, but if he takes action, you’ll definitely be fine.”

”I’m really lucky to have met an expert.”

The Auntie’s state of mind was excellent; she could still crack jokes at a time like this.

Without saying anything further, Du Heng continued to lightly touch with his fingers, assessing the area by feel while observing the Auntie’s complexion.

Wu Shengnan jogged back with the bag and then began to clumsily disinfect the needle utensils, handing them to Du Heng one by one as she finished.

Du Heng didn’t rush Wu Shengnan; it was fine if she was a bit slow, as long as she could hand him the needles.

After the long fine needles were used up, Du Heng moved on to the short fine needles. When those were also finished, Wu Shengnan handed him a three-edged needle.

Du Heng took it, glanced at it, then handed it back to Wu Shengnan. ”That’s enough. You can put the rest away.”

At this point, the Auntie’s upper right abdomen was densely packed with needles.

Seeing that Du Heng had stopped, the Auntie asked softly again, ”Young... Doctor, I’ve seen acupuncture before, but I’ve never seen anyone use so many needles. Can you tell me why?”
