This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

Guan Bo was in a great mood at this moment, humming a song lightly as he walked along the hallway.

His Teacher was a good Teacher, who scolded loudly but never hesitated to help when it was needed.

With the Teacher’s assistance, Guan Bo had identified no less than six errors or drawbacks in the materials he was holding. He had even improved the subsequent treatment plans.

Now armed with these materials, refined by a National Medical Master’s hand, Du Heng hardly mattered to him anymore.

At the same time, his junior fellow was a good junior fellow, always thinking about his best interests and offering excellent suggestions.

Guan Bo decided that once this matter was settled, he would express his gratitude to his junior fellow properly.

As he turned a corner by the elevator, he saw the female doctor who had just called out to him. She was standing at his dormitory door, and Guan Bo greeted her with a beaming smile, ”Doctor Luo.”

The female doctor had just stretched out her hand towards the door when she heard Guan Bo’s voice, and her body shuddered involuntarily.

She quickly withdrew her hand and turned to look at Guan Bo, a faint smile on her face. ”Doctor Guan, you’re leaving already? The patient called me again to ask, so I came over to see if you had left yet.”

Guan Bo walked up with a grin. ”I’m sorry for the trouble, Doctor Luo. I just got to the elevator and realized I didn’t have my phone, so I came back to get it.”

As he spoke, he opened his dormitory door. ”By the way, Doctor Luo, I didn’t ask who was looking for me just now when you left in a hurry?”

”It’s the father and daughter you met last week when they came to see Sir Zhang for treatment—the girl who couldn’t walk because of leg pain. Do you remember them?”

”Yes, I know that father and daughter.” Guan Bo acknowledged with an ”Oh.” ”But the Teacher told them to come back in a month, so why did they come today?”

Beneath her long lashes, a hint of panic flickered in Doctor Luo’s eyes. ”Maybe the illness has worsened, or perhaps the medicine hasn’t been effective.”

Guan Bo grabbed his phone from the table and stuffed it into his pocket. ”Well, since they’re here, I’ll go take a look.”

Doctor Su’s lips twitched into an awkward smile. She glanced at the stack of materials still on the table and quietly sighed in relief. It’s a good thing the materials weren’t put away.

Seeing Guan Bo about to leave, Doctor Su tactfully followed him out.

As Guan Bo left his dormitory, he reached out to close the door, took out the key, and locked it. ”Doctor Luo, my junior fellow has helped me out a lot this time. Once he and the Teacher return, I’ll ask the Teacher if he can take a break and let you two spend some quality time together.”

Doctor Luo kept her eyes on Guan Bo, and when she saw him lock the door, her gaze slightly tightened.

However, after hearing Guan Bo’s words, she smiled and replied, ”Thank you so much, Doctor Guan. He’s been studying with Sir Zhang every day, and I’m a resident physician. We hardly have any time to talk. I feel like our feelings for each other have faded.”

With a warm smile on his face, Guan Bo said softly, ”You’re both still young, so don’t worry too much.

”Initially, the Teacher wasn’t going to take any more students. However, he made an exception last year and took on my junior fellow as his Ph.D. student.

”Opportunities to learn from a National Medical Master are rare. The fact that my junior fellow was able to follow such a Teacher is exceptional. You should support him so he can focus on his studies.

”In just two more years, when he finishes his studies, you two can finally be together properly.”

Doctor Luo sighed gently, walking with Guan Bo towards the elevator and lamenting, ”That makes sense, but we’re both young, and our work is so exhausting. After being apart for so long, I can’t help but feel like he doesn’t love me anymore.”

”Rest assured, my junior fellow isn’t like that.” Guan Bo tried to cover for him. ”Plus, I’m with him all the time; I’ll keep an eye on him for you.

”He won’t have an opportunity for a fickle heart. Even if he did, I would definitely help you.”

Doctor Luo smiled at Guan Bo. ”Thank you, Guan.”

”No need for formalities between us.” Guan Bo glanced at the approaching elevator and asked, ”By the way, where are that father and daughter waiting for me?”

”Oh, downstairs in the Outpatient Hall.”

”You see, it’s a good thing I asked, or else I would have been looking for them downstairs in the hospitalization department.” Guan Bo joked before waving to Doctor Luo and stepping into the elevator with a word of thanks.

Doctor Luo was also smiling.

However, as soon as the elevator doors closed, she quickly lost her smile, hurriedly pulled out her phone, and walked over to a quiet window.

”Uncle, he’s on his way down now. If you have any questions, just ask... Yes, ask about everything. Doctor Guan and the others are currently attending a meeting in the Capital, and we don’t know when they’ll be back next. If you don’t ask now, you might delay your daughter’s treatment.

”...Yes, ask for as many details as possible—the more detailed, the better, as it will help your daughter’s condition. Yes, ask for a while. It’s best to have Doctor Guan examine her again, to do a new check-up on your daughter to see the effectiveness of this week’s treatment.

”...Okay, that’s it. But Uncle, let me remind you once more: please don’t mention that I was the one who told you Doctor Guan was returning. He’s here for his own business, and we don’t want to bother him.”
