This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

Red, swollen, and ruptured, it was covered with red patches.

”It’s not a big problem. It’s just that you took the wrong medicine a few days ago, which worsened your eczema,” Du Heng finished the examination as quickly as possible and hurriedly stepped out from behind the curtain.

”Doctor, do I need a new prescription?”

”No, just continue taking the previous prescription. The dampness will resolve once the heat recedes.”

”But it’s incredibly itchy and painful right now. Is there anything I can do?”

Du Heng thought for a moment. ”This is acute eczema induced by the previous medicine. You might also be suffering from the itchiness, and there are clear scratch marks, which is why it’s eroded. Here’s what I’ll do: I’ll give you acupuncture and prescribe some topical medicinal powder. The itching should stop by tonight, and the eczema should completely clear up in three days.”

By the time he finished speaking, the patient had dressed and walked out. It wasn’t HPV or HIV, so the patient looked quite relaxed.

However, Du Heng was cursing in his heart. He had overestimated himself and underestimated the power of that glance. He thought he was now immune to such an impact, but right now, the burning sensation on his lips, even more intense than being in a confinement room, made him truly miserable. Moreover, with just one glance, he felt extremely uncomfortable and involuntarily started superimposing the patient’s condition onto Wu Shengnan and Wang Shuqiu in his mind. He knew thinking like this was wrong, but he couldn’t help it. Now, he understood why there were so few male doctors in the Gynecology Department. Shyness was one thing; psychological tolerance was another. A male doctor who could stay and make a name for himself in the Gynecology Department had to be truly outstanding. As long as they weren’t psychologically perverted, they’d excel in any other industry.

But I can’t do it!

Small knapweed, alum...

Du Heng hurriedly began writing the prescription, forcing himself not to think such thoughts, trying to return to a normal state of mind.

This time, Cui Ying finally showed some perceptiveness, taking the initiative to accept the prescription from Du Heng and input it into the system.

”Director Qiu, have you left yet?” Du Heng shouted after finishing the prescription.

As his voice fell, the office door was slowly pushed open, and Qiu Pingzhen entered. ”Dean, I’m still here,” he said.

”Good. Then you can chat with the patient and Dr. Cui. I’ll go get my needle tool kit; I’ll be right back.”

Qiu Pingzhen smiled. ”Dean, perhaps I should get it for you?” He knew Du Heng wanted him to smooth things over with Cui Ying and apologize to the patient, but he didn’t want to.

Du Heng ignored Qiu Pingzhen and walked out directly. ”The items are in the cabinet. You wouldn’t be able to find them, so I’d better get them myself.”

As he walked past Qiu Pingzhen, Du Heng whispered, ”Resolve this matter satisfactorily.”

Back in his office, Du Heng didn’t immediately get the needle tool kit. Instead, he quickly removed his mask and then pulled out his phone, switching it to selfie mode.

Looking at his mouth on the phone, he had the urge to leave immediately. He’d had blisters before, but usually only at the corners of his mouth. But now, damn it, his entire lower lip was starting to curl downwards, and numerous blisters had even appeared around his philtrum, just below his nostrils.

If the previous damage was a 1, today’s damage was at least a 5, and it felt like a critical hit.

Du Heng groaned in frustration, pacing back and forth in the office. He mentally cursed Wu Shengnan’s father thoroughly.

What a mess!

At the same time, in his heart, he resented Gao Qin, who hadn’t even shown up yet, Cui Ying, who had messed up, and Qiu Pingzhen, who had dug this hole for him.

After a futile bout of venting, Du Heng took a deep breath, put his mask back on, grabbed the needle tool kit, and headed to Cui Ying’s office.

Once again in Cui Ying’s office, Du Heng had managed to adjust his attitude. His exposed eyes even showed a trace of a smile.

Seeing Cui Ying’s dejected face and the patient’s relieved expression, Du Heng knew that today’s matter was resolved.

It seemed Qiu Pingzhen’s work ability was quite good; he’d just used his little tricks in the wrong place today.

After having the patient sit properly, Du Heng began to insert needles into her LI-11, ST-36, and blood sea acupoints, among others.

Especially for the blood sea acupoint, Du Heng used a 4-inch long needle. During the insertion, he angled the needle tip upward, advancing it until the patient felt the qi sensation reach their thigh.

When Du Heng removed the needles, the patient suddenly said, ”Doctor, it seems the itching isn’t as bad as before, and it doesn’t hurt as much either.”

Du Heng chuckled. ”That’s just psychological. The itching might have lessened, but the pain wouldn’t disappear that quickly.”

The patient’s eyes suddenly looked vacant for a moment.

Although Du Heng said it was a psychological illusion, she genuinely felt much better.

”Doctor, after using the medicine, how often should I wash?”

”Wash once every morning when you wake up, and then apply the medicine.”

The patient hesitated for a moment. ”Shouldn’t I wash and apply the medicine at night before bed?”

Du Heng rolled his eyes. As a man, he didn’t really want to explain such matters in too much detail. Although he was a doctor, he still felt embarrassed talking about it.

”This is how my medicine is used; just follow my instructions. However, you should change your underwear. Don’t wear silk ones; switch to cotton. It would be best to change them twice a day.”

”Change them twice? Isn’t that too much trouble?”

”Don’t complain about the trouble. Stick with it for three days. After three days, you could go a month without changing them if you wanted.”

HM.

Du Heng, having settled the final details, immediately packed his things and left.

Seeing Du Heng leave directly this time without saying anything more, Qiu Pingzhen also heaved a long sigh of relief.

Then, his face was all smiles again as he walked out of the office with the patient. As for Cui Ying, Qiu Pingzhen no longer concerned himself with her.

As for her fate, it depended on whether she had any sense. If she did, she should go find Du Heng now, offer a soft word, and admit her mistake. Anyway, he had resigned himself to it and would definitely follow Du Heng’s request to report her situation in full.

As soon as Qiu Pingzhen left with the patient, the group of women who had run away earlier reappeared in Cui Ying’s office.

”Xiao Cui, you were too impulsive. It’s one thing to argue with the patient, but how could you talk back to the Dean? Listen, go find the Dean now, apologize, and he will definitely let bygones be bygones.”

”I don’t think Yingying should go. It’s not Yingying’s fault. Why should she apologize?”

”Ying Jie, how did the Dean handle it? How did that patient just leave so obediently?”

Cui Ying only felt a slight desire to answer upon hearing this question. ”You don’t know how capable this new Dean is. He just felt her pulse and looked at her tongue, and he clearly described all of that woman’s problems—why she had erosions, what medicine she had taken before—he explained everything perfectly.”

She looked at the people in front of her. ”That woman was completely awed by the new Dean after just a few moments. Besides, it wasn’t my fault, so of course, she stopped making a fuss.”

”Ying Jie, are you sure you’re not mistaken? Can the new Dean really handle Gynecology Department cases? Was he completely right about everything he said? He didn’t just look at the disease record you wrote, did he?”

Cui Ying sighed and shook her head. ”I wish. But this Dean truly hadn’t seen the disease record I wrote. And many things he mentioned, I hadn’t written on the disease record at all. His skill is truly profound.”

”Yingying, were you won over by the new Dean so easily? Weren’t you saying you wanted to give him a hard time? He’s the one who pushed out Director Liu.”

Thinking of Du Heng’s attitude towards her just now, Cui Ying felt a wave of deflation.

He completely ignored her, grabbed Qiu Pingzhen, gave him a dressing down, and then had Qiu Pingzhen deal with her. Her actions today felt like punching air.

Not only was it frustratingly stifled, but she had also lost face in front of him.

As for these seemingly concerned words, she could only laugh grimly. A bunch of bitches. Who doesn’t know who’s who around here?

”What are you all doing here?”

Just as everyone wanted to say more, a slightly sharp voice came from the office doorway.
