This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

The patient was confused but felt that Du Heng was unfathomable.

However, while the other names sounded like medications, one, in particular, made her pause: ”Doctor, what does Wang Buliuxing mean?”

Du Heng felt a bit awkward. He’d clearly overdone it; an ordinary person wouldn’t understand such an ’unconventional’ Chinese medicine name. He then explained, ”Wang Buliuxing is a Chinese medicinal herb, the dried mature seeds of the plant Ma Lancai, which belongs to the Caryophyllaceae family. It has the effects of activating blood, promoting menstruation, reducing swelling, promoting urination, and clearing painful urinary dribbling.”

After swiftly writing the prescription, Du Heng glanced at Cui Ying, who stood beside him like a wooden dummy. However, the woman obviously didn’t understand Du Heng’s look and remained standing there, motionless.

Qiu Pingzhen sighed silently. If this woman weren’t the former Dean’s sister-in-law, she would have been ”crushed” countless times by now. She was utterly clueless.

Having no choice, he had to remind her in a low voice once again, ”Dr. Cui, hurry up, enter the prescription into the system and dispense the medicine for the patient.”

”Oh.” Cui Ying finally seemed to understand, though she still appeared unhurried. She slowly took the prescription and leisurely began entering the medication details and pricing into the system.

However, Du Heng inadvertently caught a smirk at the corner of the woman’s mouth.

Upon seeing Cui Ying’s demeanor, the patient’s anger flared, but she quickly suppressed it. Turning back to Du Heng, she continued, ”Doctor, I have another question. My lower area is particularly itchy and also painful. In some places, the skin is already broken. Is this situation also caused by the black discharge, or do I have some other illness?”

As the patient spoke, her face showed a trace of embarrassment and slight fear. ”I searched online,” she continued. ”For this kind of situation, some say it’s an HPV infection, some say it’s syphilis, and others say it’s an HIV infection. I’m terrified now.”

Du Heng observed the patient’s expressions closely and thought to himself that she had a remarkably good temper. If it were someone else, they would have definitely scratched Cui Ying’s face to shreds by now and caused a huge commotion at the hospital.

As his mind wandered, his ears were still listening carefully to the patient’s description.

But the more he listened, the stiffer his expression became.

So far, in the medical field, he had two vexing weaknesses. The first was his inability to stomach bloody scenes, which caused him physical discomfort.

The second was entering a confinement room. Superstitiously speaking, he wasn’t ’resistant to the clash’; whenever he entered one, he would get blisters on his mouth.

However, there was a recent exception. When Liao Yuzhu had just given birth, he had gone in, and nothing concerning had happened.

Had his problem been cured?

Du Heng’s stiff face eased slightly.

But the issue mentioned by the patient made his heart race with unease again.

The patient already had issues with black discharge, so eczema was likely present, and itching was a definite reaction. However, with the skin breaking down and intense pain, Du Heng had to consider two possibilities.

First, as the patient herself mentioned, the presence of an infectious disease.

Second, a skin disease caused by a fungal infection.

Regarding infectious diseases, Du Heng’s analysis of the patient’s pulse suggested a low probability. Her pulse indicated strong stomach heat, not the type of pulse seen when the immune system is compromised.

Therefore, Du Heng still leaned towards the idea that the patient’s itching, pain, and broken skin were due to a fungal skin infection.

Of course, there was another possibility: eczema caused by the black discharge, which she might have irritated by scratching.

But to determine which it was, he absolutely had to perform an actual examination.

The mere thought of viewing the ’affected area’ made Du Heng shudder internally. Can I really do this? Can I really endure it?

Du Heng glanced at Qiu Pingzhen beside him. Qiu Pingzhen tactfully turned and left the room, pulling the office door closed behind him.

By this time, Cui Ying had finished entering the information into the system and pricing the medication. Seeing the situation, she started walking towards the gynecological examination bed, saying to the patient with some irritation, ”Come over here. Let our Dean take a good look at you and see if it’s really my fault.”

This woman really needs to learn her lesson, Du Heng thought, looking at Cui Ying, and silently made a decision.

He then turned to the woman beside the patient. ”You should wait outside as well. This involves the patient’s privacy, and we have a female doctor here, so you can rest assured.”

The female companion looked at the patient, who quickly said, ”Doctor, please let her stay. She’s my best friend, and we share everything. It’s fine.” As she spoke, the patient distinctly emphasized the phrase ”share everything.”

Since the accompanying person was a woman and the patient consented, Du Heng naturally had no objection.

Afterward, he quietly put on his mask and gloves. Once everything was ready and the curtain was drawn, Du Heng approached the examination bed.

Looking at the examination bed before him, Du Heng genuinely admired its designer from the bottom of his heart. A simple board, two supporting legs—so straightforward and practical!

Yet, Du Heng still felt an inexplicable sense of shame.

Du Heng gently shook his head, stopping his mind from wandering further. Silently reciting, ’A doctor’s heart is benevolent,’ he began his first gynecological examination.
