The Empress Wants a Divorce Every Day

Chapter 149: Chapter 148: Is This a Slap in Their Faces or the Prince’s? (Bonus Chapter)

The two maids each had their own thoughts, but dared not show it, while Rong Ling looked at them impatiently.

Rong Ling knew their intentions; they wanted to be his concubine. However, he felt nothing for them, so he had no intention of making them concubines.

Since he had no intention, he should crush their hopes. Rong Ling thought and then spoke.

”You two will serve the Princess Consort at the Purple Bamboo Pavilion from now on.”

Si Qin and Si Shu thought they heard wrong, gazing at Rong Ling in shock.

Feng Qing also thought she heard wrong. This lord’s thinking was indeed bizarre. These were his concubines, and he was giving them to her. Was he having her use them as maids or was he having her keep them, so they would serve him when he needed them?

”Prince, I have enough maids in my Purple Bamboo Pavilion.”

Moreover, she had always looked down on such women who strive ambitiously. Though ambition wasn’t wrong, she truly couldn’t like women who sought to climb into beds.

Rong Ling listened to Feng Qing’s words, slowly turning to look at Feng Qing, his eyes a blatant reminder: who promised to serve the Prince well enough, and yet disregards his command—was this serving well?

Feng Qing, feeling awkward, said, ”Fine, let them enter the Purple Bamboo Pavilion. However, once in the Purple Bamboo Pavilion, they are just maids. If they harbor ulterior motives, then don’t blame me for taking action.”

Si Qin and Si Shu, hearing Feng Qing’s words, realized that Feng Qing was warning them—once in the Purple Bamboo Pavilion, they should abandon thoughts of climbing into beds and becoming the Prince’s concubines.

The two maids were suddenly heartbroken, falling to their knees with a thud: ”Prince, if we leave, who will serve you, make your clothes, tidy your room, and manage the study?”

They spoke as if they were of much importance.

This time, Rong Ling’s face darkened. He never wanted to keep these women; he only gave Nanny Luo some face, so he let them stay to do some sewing. He didn’t expect these two women would be so presumptuous.

All his affairs were usually handled by Nan Feng; he only let them find some things to do themselves, yet this had inflated their desires.

”If you don’t want to stay in the Purple Bamboo Pavilion, then leave the Prince Mansion.”

Si Qin and Si Shu’s expressions changed when they heard they were to be driven out, fearfully pleading, ”Prince, have mercy! We are willing to serve the Princess Consort in the Purple Bamboo Pavilion, please don’t drive us out.”

Rong Ling gazed at them icily, thinking of the recent events at Prince Yong Mansion; driving them out at this time was not beneficial for Prince Yong Mansion’s reputation, so let them stay for the time being.

”If it happens again, you will be directly sold.”

After Rong Ling spoke, Feng Qing turned and ordered Si Hua, ”Take them to the Purple Bamboo Pavilion, from now on they are demoted to second-class, renamed Cai Qin and Cai Shu.”

Si Qin and Si Shu looked up at Rong Ling in fright, wondering if the Princess Consort was slapping them in the face or slapping the Prince in the face. They were the Prince’s senior maids, yet entering the Purple Bamboo Pavilion, they became second-class maids.

Feng Qing became increasingly displeased with the two maids’ demeanor. Were they expecting Rong Ling to defend them? How naive.

Without waiting for Rong Ling to speak, Feng Qing said: ”From now on, they will stay in the room doing needlework, and without the Princess Consort’s order, they are not to leave the room and wander around.”

After she finished, she looked at Si Hua and said, ”Take them to the Purple Bamboo Pavilion.”

Si Hua naturally noticed the behavior of Si Qin and Si Shu, and was very displeased. If they hadn’t been constantly thinking about the Prince, they might not have ended up in such a fate.

”Let’s go.”
