The Empress Wants a Divorce Every Day

Chapter 121: Chapter 120: Bestowing the Title of Prince Yong

The hall was silent, everyone staring at that pale and frail face. Could this still be the Prince Regent who once wielded great power and commanded the army?

The Prince Regent had fallen to such a state. Even those courtiers who had previously been oppressed by Rong Ling could not bear to see it.

After Feng Qing finished administering acupuncture to Rong Ling, she looked up at Nan Feng beside her and said, ”Take the Prince back to the Prince Mansion.”

”Yes, Princess Consort.”

Nan Feng and Nan Xuan supported Rong Ling and turned to leave. From behind in the grand hall, many people instinctively called out, ”Prince.”

At the foremost position in the Jinluan Hall stood several key courtiers from the court. Among them, some were joyous, while others frowned, each displaying various expressions.

The Little Emperor watched Rong Ling depart, momentarily unsure how to end the situation. An eunuch approached from behind, handing a slip of paper to the Little Emperor, and only after reading it did he react.

The Little Emperor looked at the courtiers at the lower end of the hall with a pained expression and said, ”Uncle has suffered, and I must find out who poisoned him. I will never spare the person who dared to harm Uncle.”

Many in the hall echoed the Little Emperor, ”May the Emperor’s benevolence be vast.”

The Little Emperor turned his gaze to the courtiers at the lower end of the hall, suddenly feeling pleased. From now on, these people would be his subjects, and they must act according to his commands. Should anyone dare to defy his will, he could order their execution.

Rong Che grew more excited as he thought about it and walked towards the dragon throne at the upper end of the hall.

”I decree that for my uncle’s immeasurable contributions to the Dayan, he shall be granted the title of Prince Yong and elevated to Eternal Prince.”

With Rong Che’s words, the courtiers at the lower end of the hall cheered in unison, ”The Emperor’s favor is as vast as the sea, long live the Emperor.”

The reason Rong Che elevated Rong Ling to Eternal Prince was because he received a small slip of paper from the Empress Dowager, prompting him to do so.

Rong Ling’s previous actions had caused a portion of the courtiers to feel disheartened, and many believed the Little Emperor to be ungrateful.

But now that the Little Emperor had elevated Rong Ling to Eternal Prince, it improved his image somewhat.

Many thought, perhaps the Emperor did this out of helplessness. Though he had reached the age of majority, the Regent King clung stubbornly to power. How could the Emperor not be angry? And if angry, how could he not target the Regent King?

In discussing this matter, both parties had their faults.

The atmosphere in the grand hall became lively again, except for the few courtiers previously favored by Rong Ling. The others began to entertain other thoughts.

With the Emperor now taking the reins, the court would undergo a major cleansing. Those once favored by the Regent King would likely be purged, and they hurried to find ways to establish connections. For a moment, the entire court was abuzz with activity.

At this time, no one paid heed to the matter of the Prince Regent being poisoned and injured.

Rong Che looked at the situation below, a satisfied smile playing on his lips. The governance of the Dayan Dynasty was finally in his hands. Even if his uncle knew he poisoned him and sent people to act against him, so what?

Whether he survived or not, even if he did, it would take time for his body to recover. By the time he recovered, Rong Che would have firmly seated himself on the Emperor’s throne. By then, would his uncle dare to make trouble for him?

He was the Emperor of the Dayan. With one command, he could eliminate him.

The more Rong Che thought about it, the more pleased he was. Amidst his delight, he suddenly recalled the incident earlier in the hall when Feng Qing administered acupuncture to Rong Ling.

Rong Che’s eyebrows furrowed. Could it be that Feng Qing knew medicine?
