The Empress Wants a Divorce Every Day

Chapter 124: Chapter 123: Foodies Are Easy to Negotiate With

Inside the room, Feng Qing extended her hand to take hold of Rong Ling’s and checked his pulse, once again confirming that this man’s body was extremely weak, lacking even the slightest vitality.

Feng Qing couldn’t help but sigh. Outside, Si Hua hurriedly came in to report: ”Princess Consort, Consort Jiang and Consort Song and others wish to see the Prince.”

Feng Qing glanced at the person on the bed who was almost out of breath and said irritably, ”See him for what? Tell them to go back.”

Si Hua said with difficulty, ”I told them that earlier, but they won’t leave. They’re making a fuss outside, saying they won’t return until they see the Prince.”

Feng Qing frowned and said impatiently, ”Let Nan Xuan handle it. If anyone dares to cause trouble outside, drive them back, and if they continue to make a scene, expel them directly from the Prince Mansion.”

Ever since Rong Ling was poisoned, she had been spinning like a top, utterly exhausted. Now these women were coming to bother her, and Feng Qing truly felt worn out.

Upon hearing her words, Si Hua turned around and went outside, instructing Nan Xuan waiting outside to go and drive those women away.

Nan Xuan took the order and left.

Nan Feng quickly prepared the medicine and brought it over. Feng Qing and Nan Feng together fed the medicine into Rong Ling’s mouth. This time, Rong Ling’s consciousness was somewhat stronger; he didn’t need to be force-fed like the night before. As long as it was put into his mouth, he would instinctively swallow it. After a bowl of medicine was fed down.

His complexion looked somewhat better, and Feng Qing let out a sigh of relief, stood up, and said, ”I’ll go back first to eat something and rest for a while.”

Nan Feng looked at Rong Ling and said, ”Princess Consort, perhaps you should temporarily stay in the East Wing of the Yijing Courtyard. The Prince’s condition has not yet improved. I’m afraid something might happen in between, so I hope for your understanding.”

Feng Qing glanced at Rong Ling, was about to refuse unhappily, but then Nan Feng quickly added, ”There are three cooks in the small kitchen of the Yijing Courtyard, specializing in both northern and southern cuisine. If the Princess Consort wants to eat anything, you can have them prepare it.”

At the mention of food, Feng Qing’s eyes lit up. She thought for a while, living here wasn’t bad; she could eat delicious food anytime, and considering Rong Ling’s situation was indeed worrying, Feng Qing finally agreed: ”Alright, I’ll temporarily stay here in the Yijing Courtyard.”

Hearing this, Nan Feng was immediately delighted and instructed Si Qi and Si Hua to go to the Purple Bamboo Pavilion to pack some things and bring them over.

The two maids happily went out to pack things, looking as if it were New Year’s, while Feng Qing looked on speechlessly.

Before Feng Qing and Nan Feng could speak in the room, they heard Nan Xuan bringing Housekeeper Lin Cheng over from outside.

”Princess Consort, an imperial decree has arrived. The Prince is currently unconscious. Will the Princess Consort lead people to the front to receive the decree?”

Feng Qing raised an eyebrow; it seemed her earlier guesses were correct. The Little Emperor had come to make amends due to Rong Ling’s actions in court today.

Of course, this matter might not necessarily be the Little Emperor’s intention; it could very well be the intention of Empress Dowager Su.

Feng Qing turned her head to glance at Rong Ling on the bed. This person currently couldn’t go to receive the decree, so naturally, as the Princess Consort, she had to lead people to the front to receive it.

Feng Qing looked at Housekeeper Lin and said, ”You go inform other parts of the Prince Mansion, and have everyone go to the front main hall to receive the decree.”

Housekeeper Lin took the order and left. Feng Qing looked at Nan Feng and said, ”You stay here to take care of your family’s Prince. I’ll take people to receive the decree.”

”Alright,” Nan Feng nodded, increasingly feeling that only such a Princess Consort was worthy of their family’s Prince.

Feng Qing led the people of the Yijing Courtyard all the way to the front main hall. By the time they entered the main hall, people from the other courtyards had also arrived, including Rong Ling’s nurse, Nanny Luo, who also brought people over.
