The Empress Wants a Divorce Every Day

Chapter 148: Chapter 147: Afraid She’ll Take Their Jobs and Block Their Path (Extra)

After Nan Sheng finished speaking, he suddenly remembered the news he had received earlier and quickly added, ”Prince, I previously received information that Prince Su and Prince Chu from the vassal states have each sent their heirs to the Capital City as hostages. They claim that it’s to support the Emperor’s regency and to demonstrate their loyalty, allowing the Emperor to command their direct heirs in the Capital City.”

Once Nan Sheng had spoken, Rong Ling’s lips curled into a mocking smile. It seemed his two brothers couldn’t sit still and had made their moves.

What they called sending their heirs to the Capital as hostages was just a way to have their sons monitor the happenings in the Capital.

If Rong Che were shrewd, he would send the Heir of Prince Su and the Heir of Prince Chu back to their territories, forbidding their entry into the Capital without a summons.

However, given Rong Ling’s understanding of Rong Che, he feared he wouldn’t act this way. Instead, he would keep the Heir of Prince Su and the Heir of Prince Chu, thinking that this would prevent the two uncles from the vassal states from making any rash moves.

Heh.

Rong Ling closed his eyes with a cold laugh, waved his hand, and told Nan Sheng, ”Let them cause a fuss. You just continue being a good steward of the Prince Mansion.”

”Yes, Prince.”

Nan Sheng responded respectfully, and Rong Ling motioned for him to go out and first check on the situation within the Prince Mansion.

Nan Sheng, Nan Feng, and the others left, and the room quieted down. Feng Qing massaged Rong Ling for a while before starting acupuncture treatment for him.

When the acupuncture was finished, it was late. Feng Qing suggested that Rong Ling go out for a walk, get some sunlight, and then take a nap afterward.

Rong Ling did not object, as he had some trust in her medical skills.

”Alright.”

As the two were talking, Rong Ling got up, and Feng Qing fetched his outer garment and helped him put it on.

Although his movements were somewhat clumsy, she was meticulous and diligent, and Rong Ling didn’t nitpick. He let her manage everything since she was his Princess Consort, and his affairs would be handled by her in the future, so he needed to give her time to learn.

After Feng Qing helped Rong Ling get properly dressed, she supported him as they walked outside.

This time, Rong Ling did not hold Feng Qing but supported himself on her arm as they walked towards the door.

In the courtyard, the guards breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing Rong Ling’s figure, letting go of the tension in their hearts.

Without the Prince, they feared none of them could survive. With the Prince alive, they had hope.

The two head maids serving Rong Ling at Yijing Courtyard heard that Rong Ling had come out and immediately ran out. Previously, when the Prince was unwell, Nan Feng had ordered them not to come out to cause trouble. Now that the Prince was better, the two maids quickly ran out.

They feared that if they didn’t show up, the Prince would forget about them. As soon as they appeared, they saw Feng Qing supporting Rong Ling on his walk. A sense of crisis immediately arose in their hearts; was the Princess Consort trying to take over their duties?

The head maid, Si Qin, gracefully stepped forward and softly said to Feng Qing, ”Princess Consort, you must be tired. Why don’t you let this servant support the Prince for the walk?”

Si Shu, who followed closely, agreed, ”Yes, Princess Consort, you must be exhausted recently. Let the task of serving the Prince rest with the two of us.”

Feng Qing looked at the two maids, Si Qin and Si Shu; were they afraid she would take away their livelihood and block their path?

Feng Qing amusedly looked at Rong Ling, who coldly eyed his two maids and said, ”What business is it of yours here?”

After Rong Ling spoke, his gaze turned sharp and fell on Si Shu, ”I remember confining you.”

Both Si Qin and Si Shu turned slightly pale, realizing that Rong Ling was angry. The two maids didn’t dare to make a sound, but they felt particularly uneasy inside. Was the Prince loathing them? Would he still want them as his concubines?
