The Empress Wants a Divorce Every Day

Chapter 145: Chapter 144: To Make Others Believe, Convince Yourself First

Rong Ling’s words jolted Feng Qing awake. She sat up suddenly and noticed she was sprawled out on Rong Ling’s bed, occupying most of the space. The Prince, like a pitiful little figure, was squeezed against the inside of the bed, and she remembered she had been hugging the Prince earlier, treating him like a body pillow.

Feng Qing’s face darkened instantly; had she just—slept the Prince? Although ”sleep” here did not mean what one might think, it still counted as a version of sleep.

She looked at the bed, then at the Prince, and silently cursed. She had offended the Prince severely once again.

First, she had pushed the Prince over, and now she had monopolized the Prince’s large bed, squeezing him into a corner.

Her crimes were becoming increasingly severe.

Feng Qing felt a pang of distress; would she end up dying in an unsightly manner? No, she had to save herself.

As soon as the thought crossed her mind, she quickly turned to Rong Ling and said, ”Prince, it’s not what you’re seeing. You were cold and shivering in the middle of the night, saying you were cold, so I only got in bed to hold you for the sake of your health, really just to keep your body warm.”

By the end of her speech, Feng Qing spoke with such conviction that one might have believed her words. To make others believe it, first convince yourself, and that was key.

Unfortunately, even though she spoke as if it were true, Rong Ling on the bed didn’t show the slightest hint of believing her.

He looked at Feng Qing coldly and sneered with a display of white teeth.

”So, according to the Princess Consort, I should reward you?”

Feng Qing, feeling guilty, murmured, ”For the Prince’s health, there’s no need for a reward.”

As soon as she finished speaking, she was afraid Rong Ling might say something like having her dragged out and beaten to death, so she quickly looked at Rong Ling.

”Prince, are you hungry? I’ll go prepare something for you to eat. Today, I’ll personally make something for you.”

Having said this, she swiftly jumped off the bed and ran towards the door, while Rong Ling gazed darkly at her retreating figure. However, in the end, he did not say anything.

The room fell silent, and Nan Feng cautiously spoke, ”Prince, how are you feeling physically?”

Because he hadn’t slept well earlier in the night, Rong Ling was not in a good mood. Hearing Nan Feng’s question, he responded irritably, ”Do you think I’d be okay?”

Nan Feng thought of the earlier scene where the Princess Consort had squeezed the Prince into a corner and hugged him boldly; it was clear he wouldn’t be well.

”Prince, you did not sleep well earlier, so why not sleep a little longer?”

Rong Ling coldly replied, ”Can’t sleep.”

Already angered to fullness, Feng Qing, that sly and treacherous woman, if he didn’t teach her a lesson, she wouldn’t learn. This time, he was determined to give her a good lesson so she’d remember it.

With this thought, Rong Ling waved his hand, signaling everyone in the room to leave. Nan Feng, Nan Xuan Siqi, and Si Hua, fearing to provoke the Prince, all quietly exited the room.

As soon as Si Qi and Si Hua left the room, they ran to the small kitchen at Yijing Courtyard to help.

Seeing Feng Qing, they nervously spoke up, ”Princess Consort, the Prince seems really angry this time.”

”Princess Consort, be careful going forward and don’t provoke the Prince anymore. Also, how did you end up sleeping with the Prince?”

Si Qi curiously asked, and Feng Qing responded, troubled, ”I don’t even know how I climbed into bed. It’s a headache. Never mind, let’s whip up some food to make amends first.”

Feng Qing isn’t very skilled at cooking, but she can make simple porridge. To apologize, this time she personally cooked porridge for Rong Ling, hoping that he would be willing to forgive her in light of her personal efforts.
