Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Southwest of the third oasis.

About three kilometers away.

Here lies a very small oasis.

If you’re not careful, many might even overlook it.

And right at the center of this oasis.

Several members of the Japanese team are resting here.

Since the sandstorm, a large amount of sand and dust has gotten into Matsui Reika’s wound. Although she cleaned it beforehand, the deterioration of the wound was inevitable.

Therefore, as they approached the third oasis.

Matsui Reika and the others discussed and decided to come here.

They were worried that the weakened Matsui Reika might provoke malice from other teams, which could lead to attacks from them.

In order for Matsui Reika to recover, Yoshikawa Feng traded resources with the American team for their medical kit.

Using the antiseptic medicine from the kit, Matsui Reika’s wound was bandaged.

As it stands, Matsui Reika is still somewhat weak, and her wound shows mild signs of infection, but overall, it’s showing improvement.

Yet they are unaware that a guy named Gaston has already sold them out.

At this moment, the group is discussing their next plans.

Feng Zhong is lying on the ground, gazing at the sky, listening to everyone’s discussions.

And just then, he notices a bird circling the sky; and it’s been circling for quite a while.

”Up there, is that an eagle?”

Feng Zhong couldn’t help but ask.

He felt that this eagle had been circling for quite a long time.

”Yes, it’s an eagle. There are quite a number of eagles in the desert.”

Yoshikawa Feng squints, taking a clear look at the eagle.

They have no idea that Chen Wen has tamed a screeching kite and made it his own.

Feng Zhong said, ”It’s been circling for quite a long time, don’t you think?”

Yoshikawa Feng was taken aback; he wasn’t quite sure what Feng Zhong meant.

At this moment, Matsui Reika, a bit impatient, said: ”It’s just an eagle, what’s there to see? Maybe it plans to come here for a drink but doesn’t dare to land after seeing us, so it just keeps circling.”

And just as she was speaking, the screeching kite took a clear look at the ground situation.

It let out a clear cry and turned to fly towards the third oasis.

Matsui Reika snorted, ”See, what did I say? Making a fuss over nothing!”

Yoshikawa Feng chuckled awkwardly, steering the conversation back to their subsequent plan.

Feng Zhong noted Matsui Reika’s sarcasm in his heart, but outwardly, he remained calm.

He no longer spared a thought for the eagle issue.

...

Back with Chen Wen’s group.

The screeching kite confirmed the presence of humans in that oasis.

And it described the general appearance of these humans.

The combination of three men and one woman led Chen Wen to directly identify them as the Japanese team.

After returning to camp.

Facing the expectant gazes of his group, Chen Wen grinned: ”Everything goes according to plan!”

The white teeth shone with a ferocious glint.

The others also broke into smiles, showing their white teeth.

...

Outside the frame.

Many participants from various countries, even presidents of associations, are paying attention to this impending raid.

The ensuing Desert Extreme Challenge can be rather dull.

Hence, this raid is likely the climax of this Desert Extreme Challenge.

Moreover, it involves many participants.

On one side is the seasoned team who’ve participated in previous Desert Extreme Challenges: Feng Zhong, Matsui Reika, Yoshikawa Feng, and Ding Jinyu.

On the other side are the strong newcomers.

Beast Tamer Chen Wen, master archer Hua Yun, all-rounder Adam, great strength Fred, and the relatively unknown Dennis.

These nicknames aren’t random.

They are titles thought up by associations based on each person’s specialties.

For instance, Gaston’s title is Luck King.

Returning to the main topic.

Ultimately, this challenge also concerns interests.

Every eliminated participant equates to a significant loss for their backers.

While the player who eliminated them sees their gains soar.

Thus, attention on this elimination raid continues to surge.

...

Time quickly approaches dusk.

Those who have rested are preparing their weapons.

Of course, the primary purpose of this raid is to defeat the team and seize their camels.

So Chen Wen’s long spear should only be used if absolutely necessary.

Therefore, Hua Yun took out the wooden spears they had made earlier.

Though wooden spears are less lethal compared to steel long spears.

With Chen Wen’s strength and skills, breaking through a human body is not difficult.

Thus, Chen Wen weighed the wooden spears and strapped four of them on his back.

He held the long spear in his hands.

Just in case.

Fred still carried his axe, complementing his towering figure. With a mask, he would look like a terrifying axe murderer.

Adam and Hua Yun wielded bows and arrows.

Dennis, unskilled in combat, carried a few wooden spears like Chen Wen.

For one, holding a wooden spear requires no technique to be effective. Secondly, it’s also to resupply Chen Wen.

If Chen Wen runs low on wooden spears, Dennis would immediately provide his own.

After organizing their weapons, the group feasted handsomely.

Then they headed towards the oasis where the Japanese team resided, under the glow of the setting sun.

...

As time wore on into the night.

On the Japanese team’s side, Ding Jinyu, who was on night watch, was feeling drowsy.

Yawning, he pondered when would be a good time to wake Feng Zhong.

Meanwhile, at the outskirts of the oasis.

Chen Wen’s group had quietly arrived under the lead of the screeching kite.

”Extinguish the torches!”

Chen Wen whispered, as he inserted the camel dung torch into the sand.

With tendrils of smoke curling up, the flame vanished, extinguishing the torch.

The others followed suit.

Instantly, the surroundings plunged into darkness.

However, under the light of the moon and stars, they could still faintly make out their surroundings.

”Wait a moment.”

Chen Wen paused, directing everyone’s attention to him: ”I’ll lead the way, follow me, and once we locate their camp, Fred will ambush from due north, Adam from the west, Hua Yun from the south, Dennis and I will attack directly from the east!”

”If Dennis and I succeed, there’s no need for you to reveal yourselves, but if anyone escapes, you’re responsible for intercepting them, understand?”

The group silently nodded, their eyes gleaming.

They were eager!

Chen Wen saw this and smiled rather cruelly: ”Try not to seriously injure them, but if they fight back, don’t worry about it too much, prioritizing your safety over all!”

After cautioning the group, Chen Wen began leading them towards the oasis.

Before long.

Chen Wen noticed the firelight in the oasis, clearly indicating the location of the Japanese team’s camp.

Using his ”far-sighted vision,” Chen Wen checked the situation on the Japanese team’s side.

”Be careful, the night watch is Ding Jinyu, this guy has excellent hearing.”

Chen Wen lowered his voice, warning the group.

This information was mentioned in the team member profiles he had as the team leader for the Hua Country team.

The group nodded, becoming more cautious.

Following the plan, they dispersed, hiding about thirty meters away from the camp.

Chen Wen, along with Dennis, crept to the east of the camp.

He carefully observed the camp; the Japanese team’s camping habits resembled theirs.

They placed camels on the outermost circle, people leaned against the camels, and a fire was set up in the middle.

This camping method preserved warmth maximally, and if anyone or animals approached, the camels would quickly notice the enemy and alert others.

A tricky way of camping.

Considering this, Chen Wen abandoned his previous idea of sneaking close or even executing a stealth assassination.

Too difficult.

Unless using his transformation ability.

But for these opponents, using a cannon to kill a mosquito was overkill.

Chen Wen thought for a moment and quickly devised a new plan.
