Wilderness Survival with Druid System

The group began their busy work.

Chen Wen and Fred first set off with a batch of key supplies towards the cave.

The remaining three sorted out the rest of the supplies, waiting for Dennis to return so they could transport them together.

On Chen Wen’s side.

He and Fred moved quickly, arriving near the dirt cave in a few minutes.

They set down the supplies they brought.

Chen Wen looked at the dirt cave, which sloped downward.

A person couldn’t walk in but had to crawl in.

Chen Wen lit the torch made of camel dung and said to Fred, ”When I shake the rope, pull me out. If it shakes violently, it means there’s danger, and you need to be faster!”

Fred patted his chest, indicating that Chen Wen could rest assured.

He tied the rope around his waist, handing the other end to Fred.

Chen Wen held the torch in his left hand and a long spear in his right, reaching the cave entrance.

He crawled forward, quickly sticking his head into the dirt cave.

This dirt cave was indeed an abandoned den of Australian Wild Dogs.

Chen Wen crawled along the narrow tunnel, and after about two meters, it transitioned from narrow to spacious.

It seemed like this was where the Australian Wild Dogs resided.

Chen Wen illuminated the cave with the camel dung torch, roughly assessing the situation inside.

It didn’t seem dangerous.

Moreover, the dirt cave was large enough to accommodate Chen Wen and the others for rest without much problem.

However, while resting, they’d have to curl up to sit or lie in the dirt cave, as there was no space to stand.

Just as Chen Wen was about to retreat, he suddenly heard a sound reminiscent of breathing.

The sound was gentle, similar to an ordinary human’s breathing but slightly heavier.

Upon hearing it, Chen Wen became alert immediately.

In an empty cave, such a sound signified something he was well aware of!

There was indeed a snake in the cave!

Chen Wen quickly lifted the torch, maximizing his [Far Vision].

Soon, he noticed a very inconspicuous spot in the cave corner.

A venomous snake with a reddish-brown body raised the front half of its body, flattening the neck skin to form a typical defensive posture.

This snake was long, large, and robust, even bigger than a Taipan Snake!

Venomous snake!

Chen Wen’s eyes narrowed as he instantly recognized its identity.

It was the Brown Snake!

Australia’s most lethal venomous snake!

Unlike the Inland Taipan, which was far from human habitation and timid and shy.

The Brown Snake was widespread, highly venomous, with a large yield of venom, and it actively attacked humans!

In Australian snakebite cases, Brown Snake attacks account for twenty-six percent!

Before the widespread use of antivenom, they were even more dangerous than the Inland Taipan!

Seeing the Brown Snake, Chen Wen felt a bit tense.

Holding the torch, the Brown Snake didn’t dare to attack proactively, but it swayed slightly, staring at Chen Wen.

It seemed as if once Chen Wen took another step forward, it would show him the horror of its venom!

”This is a bit tricky. The big snake is coiled up in here. If I can get it out, that’s fine. If not, who dares to come in?”

Chen Wen muttered.

And it’s unrealistic to have animals deal with the Brown Snake.

The Brown Snake might even prey on other snakes, and an Inland Taipan would only be a meal for it.

Because Brown Snakes have a special serum protein in their bodies, which can neutralize various neurotoxins and muscle toxins from other snakes.

It can resist ninety percent of the neurotoxins of the Australian Tiger Snake!

Virtually immune to venom, yet with a terrifying venom ranking in the world’s top ten deadly snakes.

Apart from the Goanna, humans, and the invasive Cane Toad, the Brown Snake is Australia’s top predator!

Chen Wen contemplated for a moment, then tested it with the long spear.

But the Brown Snake immediately showed strong aggression.

Its body suddenly sprang towards Chen Wen.

Chen Wen whipped the long spear backhandedly against the Brown Snake, striking it away.

No way!

This place was too narrow, and he couldn’t move freely!

After one encounter, Chen Wen immediately sensed something was wrong.

The narrow tunnel limited his movement, reducing the long spear’s lethality and accuracy.

Seeing the Brown Snake, which had been struck away, sway and about to attack again.

Chen Wen gritted his teeth, ”Go for broke!”

He crawled into the tunnel with all his might, quickly swinging the long spear to hinder the Brown Snake’s advance.

The Brown Snake couldn’t dodge and was again pushed away by Chen Wen.

The irritable Brown Snake emitted an angry hissing sound; it was indeed infuriated.

Most of the time, the Brown Snake wouldn’t make a sound proactively, but this time was different. Chen Wen continued pushing it away with the long spear, making the Brown Snake, ruler of this oasis for many years, lose face.

It raised its body wildly, launching an attack.

But with the dual enhancement of [Swift] and [Swift Attack], Chen Wen gradually changed from barely keeping up to completely suppressing the Brown Snake.

As he crawled to the more spacious area of the tunnel, he gained more room to maneuver.

Chen Wen swung the long spear, stabbing fiercely at the Brown Snake.

A direct hit!

But it hit the Brown Snake’s tail.

The Brown Snake recoiled in pain, curling its body and struggling violently.

Seizing the moment, Chen Wen swung the long spear again, triggering [Giant Strength].

He struck heavily at the Brown Snake’s vital area.

Though it didn’t kill the Brown Snake directly, it caused its body to stiffen.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Chen Wen struck with lightning speed, piercing the Brown Snake’s body fiercely.

He pierced it in half.

Then, Chen Wen swung the long spear again, injecting a powerful force into it and striking the Brown Snake’s head.

The Brown Snake’s body twitched and entangled itself completely.

Chen Wen used the long spear to pin the Brown Snake’s head down, then reached out and grabbed its head, shaking the rope tied to him.

Outside, Fred quickly grabbed the rope and gradually pulled Chen Wen out.

A moment later.

Chen Wen exited the cave.

He waved at Fred, ”Bring a knife.”

Fred handed over the knife, and with a swift motion, Chen Wen cut off the Brown Snake’s head.

”Was there really a venomous snake inside?”

Seeing the Brown Snake’s head, Fred asked in surprise.

Chen Wen nodded, ”In desert caves like this, nine out of ten have snakes coiled inside. This one is the legendary Brown Snake, more ferocious than the Inland Taipan!”

Hearing the name Brown Snake, Fred shivered.

For survivalists, this creature is even more threatening than the Inland Taipan!

The Russian Team ranked the Brown Snake first on the list of the most dangerous animals for this survival challenge!

”You killed it?”

Fred couldn’t help but ask the obvious.

Chen Wen nodded, ”In urgent situations, preserving our lives is the most crucial thing.”

Saying that, he asked Fred to pass over the supplies they brought: ”Go back and bring them over, and transport the supplies, let’s move them in, there’s enough space inside.”

Fred nodded and headed back to the camp with the torch.

Chen Wen crawled into the cave again, pulling out the remaining half of the Brown Snake’s body and clearing the cave to ensure there were no other dangers.

After finishing, Chen Wen piled the supplies in the corner of the cave.
