Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Looking at the wailing Australian Wild Dog, Chen Wen raised the long spear.

Soon, the Australian Wild Dog’s suffering ended.

Chen Wen and the others returned to the camp with the trap and the Australian Wild Dog.

Hua Yun saw their somewhat grim expressions and asked about the situation.

After learning that unknown hunters had arrived at the oasis before them and set up traps.

Hua Yun’s expression turned solemn.

In the wilderness, there aren’t many dangerous things for humans.

Harsh natural environments, potential natural disasters at any moment, fierce beasts...

Although these situations are dangerous, they are not unmanageable.

But those unknown, seemingly mysterious people pose a greater threat than the beasts!

”Can you identify these people?”

Fred asked in a muffled voice, feeling a bit worried.

Dennis shook his head: ”I can’t be sure, but I can tell everyone that in the desert only dromedaries are permitted for hunter groups to hunt. But these traps aren’t meant for dromedaries, so these people have malicious intentions!”

Upon hearing Dennis’s words, their breathing grew heavier.

Ill-intentioned hunters!

Those few words were enough to alert everyone.

Chen Wen remained silent on the side, but in his heart, he more or less identified these people.

There’s a high chance they are members of the Hunting Owl!

However, he didn’t say much, just reminded everyone to stay vigilant.

”Also, we can’t stay here for too long.”

Chen Wen said, looking at Hua Yun: ”Let’s use this morning to process the wild dog, turn it into jerky, then leave this oasis and head to the second oasis.”

”Additionally, we also need to speed up our journey. I think given the current situation, it’s best to join forces with our people.”

No one had objections.

Chen Wen’s proposal was exactly in line with everyone’s plans.

So, under Chen Wen’s motivation, everyone was full of energy.

But before leaving, Hua Yun brought out a rather large scorpion and handed it to Chen Wen: ”This is a scorpion I found while dealing with the Australian Wild Dog.”

Looking at the scorpion, Chen Wen was a bit surprised.

And Hua Yun chuckled and said, ”I remember you like these animals you’ve never seen before, so I kept it for you. Hope it’s useful.”

Chen Wen took the dead scorpion and nodded: ”Indeed useful, thank you.”

”Between us, there’s no need for thank yous. I’m off to handle the wild dogs first.”

Hua Yun waved and walked away quickly.

And Chen Wen scratched his head looking at the scorpion Hua Yun handed over.

Did Hua Yun discover something?

Never mind, doesn’t matter.

Let’s roast it first!

Chen Wen wasn’t sure about the specific identity of this scorpion, so he didn’t rashly eat the whole thing.

Chen Wen just roasted the scorpion’s legs, then cracked and chewed them in his mouth.

A moment later.

The system responded.

Chen Wen glanced at the entries, two were bad and one was good, leaving no choice but to select the only positive entry.

[Stinger (Gold): Actively use this entry to quickly attack from behind using a piercing weapon. This attack’s speed will become extremely fast and includes poison effect. ps: Active entry requires a day’s recovery time after each use. Poison effect depends on the activated poison entry.]

[Note: Neither the bush viper’s bite nor the scorpion’s sting is the most poisonous—it’s the treacherous heart that’s truly dangerous! — Australian Giant Scorpion (Spearhook Yellow Scorpion)]

Why does this entry feel like a game skill?

Chen Wen shook his head slightly, looking at the system.

This entry, overall, isn’t bad.

But to fully utilize this entry’s effect, a poison entry must be activated.

Only in places abundant with poisonous creatures does this entry truly shine.

Elsewhere, its effectiveness is greatly diminished.

Glancing at the entries obtained this time, Chen Wen shook his head.

The entries have a very distinct regional characteristic.

The entries obtained this time are largely poison-related, due to the abundance of venomous creatures in Australia.

No wonder it’s called a venomous desert.

...

After obtaining the entry.

Chen Wen quickly joined the others, assisting them in processing the Australian Wild Dog.

Once done.

Adam, Dennis, and Fred tanned the wild dog pelts.

Chen Wen and Hua Yun returned to the camp, cutting and roasting the dog meat, turning it into jerky.

Making it convenient for carrying and storing.

Once everyone had finished their tasks, it was already early afternoon.

They shared some jerky, ate heartily, and then left the oasis.

Chen Wen also tried the wild dog meat.

Despite its gamey taste, the texture was unexpectedly good.

At the same time, Chen Wen obtained a special entry related to the Australian Wild Dog.

[Species Domination (Australian Wild Dog) (Purple): When facing Australian Wild Dogs weaker than oneself, it exerts a unique dominance. Suppressed Australian Wild Dogs will more readily follow your commands and better understand your signals. ps: A special entry, only present in any Australian Wild Dog Pack leader, dominance only affects Australian Wild Dogs.]

[Note: I’ve spent so many years in Australia, nurturing so many subordinates, all just to be ready to use them today! — Australian Wild Dog (Wild Dog Leader)]

The entry for the wild dog leader is quite good, but it only works on Australian Wild Dogs.

Its general utility is poor.

Chen Wen just glanced at it and didn’t ponder further.

This entry is only useful in Australia, elsewhere it’s not applicable.

...

Deciding on the entry, after lunch.

Afternoon came.

After avoiding the hottest time period.

Chen Wen and the others, equipped with supplies, left the oasis, continuing forward.

This time their pace was much faster than before, and as they moved on, with the consumption of supplies, their load lightened, making the journey easier.

After three continuous days of travel.

They quickly arrived near the second oasis.

But before heading to the second oasis, Dennis led everyone to find the indigenous tribe residing nearby.

This tribe, compared to Hook’s, is more isolated and primitive.

Dennis brought Chen Wen and Adam near the tribe.

The architecture here differed from Hook’s modern buildings, these were more like the rudimentary mud huts where indigenous people dwell.

”Later, try not to look around or talk to them, I’ll handle the communication.”

Dennis instructed the two, looking somewhat tense.

On hearing this, Chen Wen and Adam nodded slightly without saying much.

The two followed behind Dennis, straight-faced, resembling bodyguards.

The three stood by the buildings for a while until a tan-skinned man emerged, wearing only shorts.

Upon seeing them, he approached cautiously with a wary expression.

Dennis immediately smiled, approaching him.

He gestured while speaking words that Chen Wen and Adam couldn’t understand, engaging in difficult communication.

The other party also gestured in response.

After a few minutes of communication, Dennis returned looking somewhat disappointed.

Meanwhile, the indigenous man’s face carried a smug expression.

”What happened?”

Noticing something amiss, Chen Wen asked.

Dennis shook his head, somewhat frustratedly saying in English: ”These people... they’re so greedy! They had already traded with those people earlier, and knowing we lack supplies, they’ve raised the prices now.”

Raised prices?

Chen Wen and Adam exchanged glances, surprised that such an issue arose here.
