Wilderness Survival with Druid System

”Human, what I’m about to say next, don’t be afraid.”

Hearing Chen Wen asking what happened to it.

Xiao Yuan said solemnly.

Listening to these lines with a strong sense of déjà vu, Chen Wen couldn’t help but say, ”Rest assured, Big Smart, I’m human, I won’t be scared.”

Big Smart, the name Chen Wen gave Xiao Yuan.

If it weren’t for a certain movie, this name would be entirely positive.

Chen Wen gave it this name with a positive meaning.

After hearing Chen Wen’s words, Xiao Yuan felt somewhat relieved.

It continued, ”I just encountered a flying black lump!”

Black lump?

Chen Wen leaned back tactically, a bit surprised.

However, instead of drawing the black lump on a piece of paper, he asked Xiao Yuan to continue describing it and use its claws to sketch its shape in the sand.

After watching for a long time, Chen Wen finally understood what Xiao Yuan was talking about.

”Oh, what you’re describing isn’t anything else. It’s a transportation tool we humans make, a helicopter, and that side emblem that looks somewhat like your head is nothing but the Australian Survival Association’s emblem—the Red Eagle.”

Chen Wen said with a grin, ”As long as you don’t get close, it won’t attack you.”

Upon hearing this, Xiao Yuan finally felt safe enough to go drink water.

But after Xiao Yuan left, Chen Wen pondered for a while.

A helicopter ahead, could it be that the people ahead have suffered some casualties?

Very possible!

Based on time, the group that left earlier should almost be at the first oasis.

Very likely, they encountered conflict at the first oasis.

Thinking of this, Chen Wen pondered for a while and went to find others.

Everyone was busy transporting underground water, making sure the camels were well-fed.

After a few days, the water stored in the camels’ bodies was almost depleted.

Chen Wen joined in, starting to transport underground water.

Everyone was busy until the afternoon, finally feeding two-thirds of the camels.

Chen Wen looked at the sky and felt that continuing was not feasible today.

He called Hua Yun over and asked her to start a fire and cook.

The black-bellied sand chicken hunted earlier was roasted into jerky. Now, Chen Wen had Hua Yun heat it up as he intended to acquire its entry later.

Besides, Chen Wen also had Hua Yun cook the heart of the camel they hunted today along with its meat to make broth.

After all, it’s not like before; they now have ample water for cooking.

While Hua Yun cooked, Chen Wen and the others didn’t stay idle.

The guys continued transporting underground water, feeding the remaining camels.

Once the camels were full, Chen Wen let them roam freely in the oasis to feed.

...

At night.

Eating hot broth and camel meat, Chen Wen and the others were quite satisfied.

Additionally, Chen Wen ate some black-bellied sand chicken jerky.

As expected, the texture and taste were awful.

But the only consolation was that Chen Wen obtained an entry.

[Swift Run (Purple): Dramatically increase running speed in a short time, reduce the impact of your weight on the ground during running, allowing you to run faster and more stably on sandy ground]

[Note: Lightweight Skill, float on sand!—Black-bellied Sand Chicken]

This entry is commonly used in desert areas.

It’s also quite useful.

After the meal, everyone gathered around the campfire to discuss the next plan.

According to Adam and their plan, the next step would be to move quickly to reach the first oasis.

Catch up on the progress lost during the initial wait.

Thus, taking advantage of this opportunity to replenish a large amount of water, they planned to continue the journey immediately after collecting water the next morning, even utilizing noon time.

As they were wrapping up the discussion, planning to let Chen Wen express his opinion,

Chen Wen waved his hand, dismissing this plan.

”I think we shouldn’t be so hasty.”

Chen Wen said slowly, ”You might not know, but this afternoon, I saw a helicopter.”

After saying this, he added, ”It was an Australian Association’s helicopter.”

These words left the group stunned, and then they looked at Dennis.

The association’s helicopter?

Dennis shook his head, ”The association’s current priority is the Desert Extreme Challenge, so it’s likely that something went wrong ahead, and the helicopter went for a rescue.”

Hearing Dennis’s words, Chen Wen continued, ”I’ve calculated the time. The large team that left earlier should be resupplying at the first oasis, and it’s very likely that a conflict has occurred there. I think we should take it easy and wait a while before proceeding.”

”Especially the Japanese team, they’ve suffered significant losses at the starting point, so they’ll definitely look for opportunities to loot other teams for resources.”

This is a prudent consideration.

After thinking for a moment, Hua Yun nodded, ”Okay, I have no objections.”

Hua Yun trusts Chen Wen’s intuition.

Fred had no objections either.

Being able to rest for a while is all benefits and no harm to him.

With these two having no objections, Adam naturally wouldn’t oppose.

Dennis, driven by conformity, also expressed his agreement.

However, while agreeing, Dennis still had some doubts in his heart.

He felt that Chen Wen was being overly cautious. Even if there was a conflict, with their combat capability, would they really fear that group?

But he didn’t say much as Dennis was never someone good at making decisions.

After discussing this matter, Chen Wen brought up the topic of traveling again.

”Next, we shouldn’t risk it to chase progress too hastily. I think we should follow our previous rhythm, move during dawn and dusk when it’s cooler, cover more distance during these times, rest at noon, and we can skip the camp setup, using the old method of surrounding camels and sleeping near them as long as we have a fire.”

Upon hearing Chen Wen’s suggestion, they didn’t directly oppose it.

Adam only expressed a concern, ”Wouldn’t that be too tight on time?”

”Don’t worry, time-wise it’s manageable. I researched before, once we reach the Kimberley Plateau, our speed will increase, but in the desert, cautiousness is paramount.”

After contemplating, Adam chose to trust Chen Wen.

With just a few words, the following action plan was set.

...

The next day.

Following Chen Wen’s decision, everyone rested on-site.

Relying on the oasis, those with nothing to do began searching for food on Chen Wen’s suggestion.

Chen Wen walked within the oasis, long spear in hand, constantly scanning the surrounding vegetation.

In this Desert Extreme Challenge, he didn’t encounter many animals, so during this break, Chen Wen planned to gather more edible animals and insects.

To enrich his entries.

In the desert, if there’s a place with an abundant distribution of animals and insects, it would be near the oasis.

However, while there’s plenty of food, much of it is deadly, so Chen Wen advised others to act within their capabilities.

Entering the oasis.

Numerous green plants, names unknown to Chen Wen, grew wildly in this oasis.

In the brief rainy season of the Great Sand Desert, they must grow and reproduce, with time pressing.

On the way, Chen Wen even saw many brightly colored flowers.

Leaning closer, through the flowers’ morphological features, he identified their species.

”Desert Rose, a species that shouldn’t typically appear here, but for well-known reasons, they’ve made their way into this desert.”

Chen Wen said, reaching out to press down the branch of a Desert Rose with the long spear.

Then carefully picking its flower.

”Desert Rose belongs to the Oleander family; their branch sap is toxic, so be careful, but their flowers are non-toxic and even have certain medicinal value, so I’ll collect it!”
