Wilderness Survival with Druid System

What use a tamed Inland Taipan Snake might have, Hua Yun and the others don’t know for now.

But the intimidation it brings is quite formidable!

Take these few people for instance, even if you lent them ten nerves now, they wouldn’t dare to walk next to Chen Wen.

The Crested Hawk Eagle is the same.

It’s biological instinct to seek fortune and avoid disaster makes it unwilling to approach Chen Wen at all.

Only the Buzzard, after being given the ability to ”communicate” by Chen Wen, has had some interactions with the Taipan Snake.

And wasn’t very afraid either.

The Buzzard stood casually next to Chen Wen, tilting its head to size up the Taipan Snake wrapped around Chen Wen.

Feeling a bit skeptical inside.

The Taipan Snake, through Chen Wen’s shielding, also observed the communicative Buzzard.

Feeling quite empathetic.

Seeing this scene, Dennis couldn’t help but feel a sentimental thought in his heart.

It’s truly like two compatriots meeting, eyes filled with tears.

Both the Buzzard and the Taipan Snake are native creatures of Australia.

The unexpected harmony between them was surprising.

After Chen Wen resolved the matter of the Inland Taipan Snake, the five organized their supplies and cleared the sand off their bodies.

And began to move forward.

...

Ahead of the five, the other three teams with two people each also faced sandstorm assaults.

The Japanese team responded fairly promptly.

Moreover, Matsui Reika, Yoshikawa Feng, and Feng Zhong are considered top survivalists.

The three took Ding Jinyu in, they quickly hid in a circle formed by camels, successfully avoiding this sandstorm.

The only downside was that Ding Jinyu neglected the fixation of supplies.

Before the sandstorm swept through, he rummaged for clothes to use as a mask.

But after finding clothes, he forgot to refasten the supplies, allowing several of his supplies to be blown away by the sandstorm.

For him personally, the loss was quite significant.

However, Matsui Reika timely distributed some supplies to Ding Jinyu, relying on previously seized supplies, the team’s loss remained within an acceptable range.

On the American and British team.

Hope is quite the veteran, and he’s a master who has completed extreme heat challenges and survived in the Sahara Desert.

Facing the sudden-oncoming sandstorm.

After a moment of simple tension, Hope quickly calmed down, calmly directing the others in response.

The team did suffer some losses but they were merely minor, not affecting much.

On the Russian-French side.

Oleg and Lloyd’s experience are not weaker than Hope’s, the two teamed up to handle things, enabling the Russian-French team, just like Chen Wen’s side, to suffer no loss in supplies nor injuries among personnel.

Additionally, Australia’s seed players Elvin and Xu Qiang also bravely withstood the sandstorm.

Elvin is a rather unique player.

After narrowly escaping the Japanese team’s attack with Xu Qiang, they were in a fairly poor state.

Both showed mild symptoms of Alu Vine intoxication, and no camels were taken out, only a few supplies were carried out by the two.

Yet even in this nightmarish difficult situation.

Elvin used camel manure to mask their scent, successfully mingling among a group of wild camels.

He was born a herder.

Thus, Elvin tried to tame the single-humped camels.

He succeeded.

Under Xu Qiang’s shocked gaze, Elvin fashioned simple reins from ropes and led two single-humped camels from the group.

With the help of two wild single-humped camels, they traversed the deadly ten kilometers before Chen Wen and the others.

And reached the oasis.

They were in the center of the oasis when they encountered the sandstorm.

Here, by experience, they found a cliff and spent the sandstorm sheltered under the cliffs.

No injuries to them, no damage to the supplies.

Overall.

After experiencing earlier chaos and players’ frantic mutual assaults in this survival contest.

The refining process has left only the elite, each holding a special skill of their own.

Associations are starting to anticipate the players’ upcoming performance.

Meanwhile, many wealthy merchants are keeping an eye on the current scenario.

Now is the first round of placing wagers.

Following the initial performances of the players, the merchants begin to enter the scene.

Canada, Yukon Territory.

Belmont is handling some mining work in his low-key luxurious office.

Post work, an assistant cautiously handed over a document.

After a glance, Belmont’s previously furrowed brow relaxed.

”Oh, almost forgot, Chen Wen can have his first bet placed now over there.”

Belmont smiled, signed the document, and handed it to the assistant.

A moment later, as if recalling something.

He called back the assistant and took out another document: ”I’m placing a bet too; Chen Wen’s quite interesting, he should complete the challenge this time, it wouldn’t be right to leave easy money on the table.”

...

Back to Chen Wen.

Under the gloomy sky, several masked figures pushed forward against the fierce wind.

”We’re finally about to exit the deadly ten kilometers, this stretch is indeed tough to cross!”

Dennis remarked, glancing at the sky.

Though the most intense part of the sandstorm has passed, they’re still within its impact zone.

The sky is gloomily clouded, obscuring the sun.

He, being the pathfinder, can only rely on dunes to discern direction.

Upon hearing this, Chen Wen nodded.

These ten kilometers were indeed perilous.

Whether it was the sudden tick invasion, the sandstorm, or the Inland Taipan Snake that landed on his neck.

Any missteps in handling these situations could lead to squandering their previous efforts.

Walking this path felt akin to traversing a tightrope.

With clothes draped over them, the group was filled with sentiment.

After about half an hour’s trek.

Chen Wen suddenly furrowed his brow: ”By the way, don’t you feel we’ve been walking for quite a while?”

Long time?

The group didn’t grasp Chen Wen’s point immediately.

And Chen Wen continued: ”I heard Dennis mention before, after passing the stony desert, it’s not far to reach the oasis, yet isn’t our current trek somewhat lengthy?”

Upon hearing, the group froze.

Had Chen Wen not mentioned it, they wouldn’t have thought about it, but upon his mentioning, they indeed realized that their trek seemed long.

”Hmm, there’s indeed something off!”

Dennis also recognized the issue.

He’s been leading incorrectly!

As a local and route researcher.

In the team, Dennis has always been responsible for guiding and finding the right path.

While earlier, Chen Wen hadn’t been too assured.

At times, he would discern routes alongside Dennis.

Though as they progressed, Dennis constantly stayed on course, earning Chen Wen’s increasing trust.

Lately, he’s been less concerned about routes.

But today, an issue has arisen.

Dennis scratched his head, dislodging hidden sand grains from his hair.

He said, a bit frustrated: ”Something seems off.”

”I’ve been solely using dunes, and occasionally the sun, to discern direction, yet post sandstorm, the sun’s unclear, so I rely solely on dunes.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Wen smacked his forehead: ”Issue identified!”
