Wilderness Survival with Druid System

After gathering some intelligence, Dennis noted down the map and intended to leave.

At this moment, Chen Wen said, ”Ask them if they know the group setting up traps in the oasis. Since they set traps there, they’ve likely been here.”

Hearing Chen Wen’s words, Dennis nodded slightly.

He asked the indigenous person in detail about the unknown hunters.

The indigenous person thought for a moment, gesturing with circles, and then began talking in murmurs.

A moment later, Dennis said, ”He does know something.”

”According to him, some people in cars came to their tribe recently, among them were hunters from another tribe. They exchanged some goods and furs here.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Wen continued, ”Ask if there’s anyone unfamiliar in their group.”

Dennis nodded.

A moment later, he said, ”He said there was only one, but it might be someone from another tribe. Tribes don’t communicate much nowadays, so he isn’t sure.”

This group is very likely the Hunting Owl!

Chen Wen took a deep breath, feeling a strong sense of crisis.

According to the indigenous person, among them, the unfamiliar person carried a hunting rifle!

The other side has firearms!

Dennis seemed to realize something and asked, ”You seem very concerned about those hunters?”

”It’s nothing, just curious, asked a couple more questions.”

Chen Wen smiled and changed the subject: ”Alright, nothing else, let’s go.”

Dennis nodded.

The two bid farewell to the indigenous person and set a time; they would exchange goods in an hour.

...

While Chen Wen was communicating with the indigenous person.

Oasis number two.

A group of unfamiliar people entered the oasis, attracting the attention of several teams resupplying at oasis number two.

”This group... doesn’t look like good people.”

Oleg squinted, assessing the strangers entering the oasis.

With his many years of experience, they didn’t seem like good people.

And they were armed.

”Don’t engage, let’s leave as soon as possible.”

Next to him, Lloyd squinted, eyes fixed on the leader of the group.

This person was carrying a long object on their back.

Lloyd, a retired paratrooper, sensed it might be a gun!

And a high-caliber hunting gun!

After a brief discussion, Lloyd and Oleg decisively led their team out of oasis number two.

On Hope’s side, he sent Gaston to engage with the strangers a bit.

Gaston returned, speaking casually: ”They’re hunters, commissioned by the government to hunt dromedaries here.”

Hunt dromedaries?

Hope nodded slightly, but his eyes showed a hint of suspicion: ”Anything else?”

”No.”

Gaston said, but soon seemed to remember something: ”Oh right, they asked about what we’re doing, I told them, and they cautioned me there are venomous snakes in the oasis ahead to watch out for.”

”Additionally, they inquired how many teams we have, and where the others are.”

Hope asked, ”Did you tell them everything?”

”Yeah, I told them everything.”

Gaston said naively: ”They didn’t seem like bad people to me.”

Hope shook his head slightly: ”Let’s go, don’t linger.”

...

Same oasis.

Todd watched the adventurers, eyes flickering.

”The target isn’t among them.”

Beside him, his aide Aquinas said in a low voice.

Todd nodded slightly, indicating he understood.

He took a deep breath and said, ”The target likely hasn’t reached this area yet; we can set up an ambush in advance. According to Gaston, verified by Yoshikawa Feng, this oasis is a must-pass location for them, and they must stay here.”

Upon hearing this, Aquinas agreed, nodding: ”Yes, and according to what I got out of Habakkuk, this oasis is the center of their so-called challenge.”

Hearing Habakkuk’s name, Todd’s expression was contemptuous: ”Heh, Habakkuk’s words can’t be fully trusted; he’s a fool. But Enzo trusts him; those two idiots are fooling themselves.”

”Indeed.”

Aquinas smiled: ”They actually went to the Kimberley Plateau to guard a rabbit hole; that’s stupid. There are only fixed routes in the desert challenge of theirs. The Kimberley Plateau doesn’t have fixed routes.”

The two chuckled, dripping with disdain for their peers.

”This time, Lady Luck smiled upon us; fortune favors us.”

Todd was full of ambition, seemingly seeing himself becoming the third leader of the Hunting Owl Organization.

”Prepare for the ambush, remember, we only kill the target, that is, Chen Wen.”

Todd smirked, eyes with a trace of ferocity: ”You don’t need to act; I’ll let Chen Wen understand with my hunting rifle what happens to those who disrupt the organization’s plans!”

Aquinas nodded with a smile: ”Certainly, my lord.”

...

”Those people have bad intentions; I felt they were probing me.”

Yoshikawa Feng returned to the camp and immediately spoke seriously.

Matsui Reika, upon hearing this, said nervously: ”They likely have firearms; I saw someone carrying a long object wrapped in tanned leather.”

”In any case, this group is dangerous; Oleg and Hope have already left.”

Feng Zhong also looked worried.

They dared not interact too much with these people, so they packed up and prepared to leave.

As they were leaving, Feng Zhong said maliciously, ”Chen Wen and his team seem to be behind; hehe, if they bump into this group, hehe...”

The speaker intended no harm, but the listener took heed.

Ding Jinyu, who had been mostly silent on the way, showed some insight.

He realized this was a chance to do Chen Wen a favor.

After all, he didn’t have a significant grudge with Chen Wen, and he still wanted to return home.

He didn’t want to be unable to return to Hua Country after this survival event or lack qualification to participate in future survival events.

So, while others were packing, Ding Jinyu used the excuse of stomach pain to sneak out of the camp.

He quickly walked outside the camp, circled oasis number two a bit.

He carved a mark with a knife on a tree bark on the must-pass route into oasis number two.

This mark was a special symbol of the Hua Country Survival Association.

The meaning was simple.

Danger ahead! Detour!

After carving the mark.

Ding Jinyu let out a long breath, as if completing an important task.

Returning to camp.

Seeing Ding Jinyu sweating profusely, Feng Zhong suspiciously asked: ”Why are you so hot?”

Ding Jinyu grinned: ”Doing this won’t keep you cool; with this weather, even at home, you’d need three sheets to wipe sweat and three sheets to wipe shit.”

Feng Zhong laughed, his eyes no longer suspicious.
