Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Fang Zheng never would have thought that Tomie would unexpectedly appear in such a way.

This immediately made him somewhat worried, but fortunately, the world’s first video camera wouldn’t be developed for another decade or so, so he didn’t have to worry about Sadako joining in on the fun just yet.

Really, it’s just that this damned Cthulhu world makes it impossible to use ”Ratziel,” otherwise Fang Zheng could just solve the problem by flipping through a book. And now... well, it seemed a bit troublesome.

Tomie’s home address was registered, but that place was also burned to ruins, and it’s very difficult to find a specific person among the vast sea of people. Although that’s what you say, Fang Zheng isn’t completely without a way.

If he can’t find her, he’ll just let her come out herself.

And the method is... very simple.

The melodious sound of a guitar played on the street corner, and as students walked out of the school gate, they quickly saw on the other side of the street, a quite handsome young man wearing a trench coat, busking by the flowerbed.

”Hey, look over there!”

”Wow, is he an idol? Could he be filming a show?”

”But we don’t see any cameramen...?”

”Why don’t we go take a look.”

The students, murmuring with curiosity, gathered in small groups. Especially the female students, who stared at him with eyes aglow. No wonder they were so out of control – the young man before them was extremely handsome and dashing. He wore a pitch-black trench coat and looked free-spirited and unrestrained. Holding a guitar, he sang while playing, his magnetic voice resonating with the melody, leaving people entranced.

”So handsome...!”

”His singing is so good, is he a singer?”

”No, I’ve never seen him before.”

”He’s way better than those singers on TV!”

Young people in this era didn’t have much in terms of entertainment activities, so rumors of this street busker quickly spread among the local student groups. He always appeared outside schools at dismissal times, singing and playing for an hour before leaving. He only stayed in each place for three days, which sparked great interest among students about this mysterious young man. Some even became his fans, following him to other places to listen to him sing.

However, as for others...

”Master, what exactly is the point of this?”

Nymph, invisible and hovering in the air, asked puzzledly as she watched Fang Zheng once again open the guitar case, took out the guitar, and sat by the flowerbed.

”Aren’t we looking for that woman called Tomie?”

”With so many people around, when will we find her? Besides, we have no information on that woman named Tomie, so I’ve decided to directly lure her out... just like fishing.”

”Master, do you think she’ll take the bait?”

”She should. If my thinking is correct, Tomie will definitely take the bait.”

Fang Zheng had once read the story of Tomie. Apart from the special ability of being unkillable, Tomie is the typical modern-day green tea girl, a scheming woman. She is greedy, willful, eager to conquer all men in the world.

A woman like that certainly wouldn’t let a good man go.

And Fang Zheng, being such an exceptional man, would surely not be spared by her either.

”But it seems like no such person has appeared these past few days?”

”My intuition is very accurate. It’s only a matter of time.”

Just then, the school bell rang, and Fang Zheng began tuning his guitar again, starting his ”busking” plan once more.

This time, Fang Zheng’s busking was again a great success. Or rather, due to the spreading rumors, more and more people came to listen, so much so that Fang Zheng had to move from the street corner to a nearby small park. Otherwise, the traffic might have been blocked.

Of course, after the performance ended, the crowd dispersed, although some students from a prestigious school tried to invite Fang Zheng to dinner... some even said their parents were high-ups in the entertainment industry and could help Fang Zheng debut. However, Fang Zheng, not interested in fame, smiled and politely declined, leaving those young girls reluctantly walking away.

At this moment, the sky was gradually getting dark.

”Whew...”

Fang Zheng packed up the guitar, slung it over his shoulder, and was about to leave the park. Just at that moment, he saw a girl with long black hair reaching her waist, fair skin, wearing a uniform, standing at the park entrance, smiling at him.

”Hello there.”

”Hello.”

Fang Zheng nodded to the girl. He didn’t know her, but it didn’t matter. No matter how Tomie looked, as long as he saw that mole under the corner of her eye, he could confirm her true identity.

”Your guitar playing is really good.”

The girl smiled at Fang Zheng like an innocent girl looking adoringly at her idol – as expected, Tomie, as one of Japan’s most famous green tea girls, had solid fundamentals. When a pretty girl looks at you like that, generally speaking, a man would feel like he’s floating on air.

Moreover, her compliments were appropriate and well-placed. Since Fang Zheng was an accomplished musician, his proficiency level in instruments was certainly higher than in singing. The fact that the girl could pick up on this meant she genuinely listened to his performance.

Hmm, this is just like in an e-sports story. If a female character praises the male protagonist by saying, ”Your Yasuo is amazing, you’ve killed so many people!” then the male protagonist would probably think she was insufferably vulgar. I made so many divine level moves, and you’re only focused on how many kills I got?

But if the other party blinks and says, ”You dodged that hook just now so cleverly, how did you know there was an ambush?”, the male protagonist would immediately feel like he’s met a kindred spirit, and at the same time express ”Hmm, this is an interesting woman,” maybe they’ll even directly start discussing game techniques together.

”Thanks.”

However, Fang Zheng is too lazy to follow that script. In fact, as long as he confirms the other party is Tomie, then the rest is no problem for him.

”But don’t you feel you need a partner?”

”Hmm, sorry, I’m not interested.”

Fang Zheng looked the girl up and down, then shook his head.

”Sorry, I have to go now.”

After saying this, Fang Zheng turned and left, while the girl stood in the park, glaring viciously at his back like a wolf watching its prey.

”Nymph.”

After leaving the park, Fang Zheng immediately contacted Nymph.

”Lock onto that woman.”

”Huh? Is it her?”

”That’s right, she is Tomie, follow her, lock onto her, find out where she lives, and then we’ll make a move. Hmm, for now, I’m going to have a meal first.”

”Alright, master.”

After handing the remaining task to Nymph, Fang Zheng hummed a tune on his way to a nearby ramen shop. However, just as he was about to enjoy his ramen, Nymph’s voice sounded in Fang Zheng’s ear.

”Report, master, the target has been attacked.”

”...Attacked?”

Upon hearing this, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but pause.

”Yes, the target left the park after that, walked along another route towards a residential area, then a man suddenly appeared and attacked her. He stabbed the target several times with a fruit knife, but before the target died, the man fled after being noticed by another passerby.”

”...Did you track the attacker?”

”I’ve already released beacons to track.”

”Well done. What about Tomie?”

”The target is currently taken back to his residence by a passerby.”

”I see...”

Upon hearing this, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but have a bad premonition, and sure enough, it wasn’t long before Nymph’s voice sounded again.

”Report, master, the beacon sends back information; the attacker returned to another apartment and met with a person resembling the target... Based on DNA determination, the DNA match between them is 99.99%...”

”Damn, this is exactly what I was worried about!”

Upon hearing this, Fang Zheng’s face immediately turned grim.

If it were just the simple Tomie, Fang Zheng wouldn’t be afraid at all. But what is he afraid of? He’s afraid of Tomie’s split reproduction!

It’s easy to find a single Tomie, but when one Tomie turns into a pile of Tomies, who knows which Tomie has obtained the Silver Key?!

And what’s worse...

”Master.”

”What now?”

”I just discovered someone is watching outside the residence of target number two. I released beacons to track him, found he went to another area’s apartment building to meet another person resembling the target...”

”...”

At this point, Fang Zheng was completely speechless.

Eventually, when Nymph returned to report in the early hours, she had already locked onto a total of forty-three Tomies. Moreover, based on the information Nymph eavesdropped from them, these Tomies obviously know that one Tomie has obtained the Silver Key, and they are currently searching everywhere for that Tomie, trying to kill her and get the Silver Key from her.

But nobody knows which Tomie has the Silver Key, although for the other Tomies it doesn’t matter; they’ll kill each other anyway even without the Silver Key.

This is truly a large-scale real-life Werewolf game.

Fang Zheng can’t let these Tomies continue. Aside from spiritual seduction and immortality, they’re simply weaklings. It’s one thing to use men to kill, but even if they kill, they can’t kill well. In the end, the more they kill, the more they multiply... By the time this night is over, forty-three could turn into eighty-six.

At this point, there’s only one solution.

”Let’s go, capture all these Tomies!”
