Chapter 1099: Chapter 1098: The Terrifying Darkness (Part 1)

”Remember, just like we agreed before: act like we got separated while running, and let them find you... You don’t have to worry about anything, understand?”

”Okay, I understand!”

Focusing on the exit of the alley ahead, His Majesty nodded vigorously, which made Fang Zheng glance at her several times. Honestly, at the beginning, Fang Zheng thought His Majesty was just a timid little girl manipulated by the eunuchs. But now she showed a decisive side, which truly surprised Fang Zheng.

”Have you really thought it through? You know we’ve only met for... let me count, three hours, right? Do you really trust me this much? Aren’t you afraid I deliberately kidnapped you to sell, hoping to become Emperor myself?”

”I’ve thought it through, Imperial Brother.”

To Fang Zheng’s surprise, His Majesty seemed quite confident this time.

”Although we haven’t known each other long, and this is my first time outside, I can feel that Imperial Brother genuinely cares for me, and... as Imperial Brother said, I am His Majesty, I must make my own decisions, and this is something I must face!”

”Good, now you show some of His Majesty’s demeanor.”

Looking at the girl before him, Fang Zheng reached out again to pat her head.

”Go on!”

”Yes, Imperial Brother!”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s words, His Majesty smiled shyly, then turned around, took a deep breath, and quickly ran toward the mouth of the alley.

After leaving the alley, His Majesty glanced left and right, then quickly spotted the police.

”There she is! It’s her!”

At this moment, the police also saw His Majesty running out of the alley, and immediately shouted as they rushed over. The girl, frightened, turned to run. However, she didn’t get far before being surrounded by several officers. Soon, one of them, with a stubbly beard, raised his gun, aiming at His Majesty.

”Don’t move, hands up!”

”Brother Li.”

Seeing the action of the bearded man, the young officer beside him frowned with some dissatisfaction.

”She’s still a kid. Do we really need to pull knives and guns?”

”You mustn’t be careless. They reported that they attacked officers in broad daylight and injured several of our brothers.”

Although the bearded man’s tone wasn’t friendly, he lowered his gun. At this moment, the young officer walked over with a slight smile and spoke to His Majesty.

”Hello, little sister, don’t be afraid. We are the police... Where’s the person you were with earlier?”

”I, I, I got separated from my brother...”

Facing several unknown officers, His Majesty leaned against the wall somewhat uneasily. She wasn’t great at acting, but she naturally felt uneasy around strangers. Despite making up her mind earlier, being surrounded at this moment, His Majesty could perform perfectly without needing to feign.

”I don’t know where my brother went...”

”You don’t know?”

Hearing His Majesty’s response, the bearded man frowned, scrutinizing her.

”Where did you get separated from your brother?”

”Over there...”

His Majesty pointed in a random direction, and the bearded man nodded, then picked up his walkie-talkie.

”This is the third team. We’ve found the suspect’s sister. She got separated from the suspect. Based on her description, the suspect should currently be around Shanghai Plaza...”

After a brief report, the bearded man glanced at His Majesty, who was looking down, silent.

Soon, a voice came from the walkie-talkie.

”Headquarters received. Immediately take the suspect back to the station.”

”Okay, I got it.”

After saying this, the bearded man looked at His Majesty again.

”Alright, little sister, you’ll have to come with us to the station for a while.”

”Why are you arresting us? We didn’t do anything wrong!”

Upon hearing this, His Majesty finally couldn’t help but refute.

”Obviously it was that Zhao Wei person who started the fight and wanted to take me away. My brother only fought with him because of it. When the police came, they wanted to arrest me and my brother without listening to us, and now you’re here to arrest us again. It’s not our fault!”

”No matter what, what you say doesn’t count, and neither does what I say. Only the law counts.”

The bearded man waved his hand, seemingly unwilling to hear His Majesty’s explanation.

”No matter what, you attacked the police. We’ll discuss the details at the station. Let’s go.”

After saying this, the bearded man intended to take His Majesty away. But just then, the young officer suddenly smiled and approached.

”Captain, there’s no need for you to bother with this. I’ll take care of it.”

”Are you sure you can handle it?”

Upon hearing the young officer’s words, the bearded man stared at him, while the young officer just smiled apologetically.

”Of course, it’s just escorting a little girl. Leave it to me, Captain. You should focus on chasing the suspect instead.”

”Hmm... alright, I’ll leave it to you then.”

The bearded man thought for a moment, then nodded. He picked up the walkie-talkie, said a few words, and then led the other police officers towards the alley where His Majesty had just run out from.

Meanwhile, the young man looked at His Majesty with a friendly smile and extended his hand.

”Alright, little sister, come with me.”

”Ah, okay...”

Looking at the young man before her, His Majesty hesitated for a moment but then nodded, and was taken to the police car by the young man. Subsequently, the young man drove the police car, speeding forward all the way.

”You must be very tired, would you like some water? Here, I have some drinks...”

While driving, the young man handed over the drink beside him, and His Majesty took a small sip. Soon, a wave of drowsiness hit her, and she unknowingly fell asleep.

”..........”

It was unclear how much time had passed before His Majesty slowly woke up. She opened her eyes and was surprised to find herself surrounded by darkness.

”Where is this...”

His Majesty tried to sit up, only to realize that her hands and feet were bound, and even her mouth was taped shut!

What... what is going on?!

”Mmm... mmm!!”

His Majesty immediately began to struggle vigorously, but just then, Fang Zheng’s voice came from beside her ear.

”Shh, don’t move!”

Imperial Brother?

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s voice, His Majesty’s initially terrified heart relaxed a bit, and Fang Zheng’s voice continued to ring in her ear.

”You were drugged and knocked out by the police officer. Now he has taken you out of the city. We’re following to see where he’s taking you. Close your eyes and pretend to be asleep.”

”..........”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s words, His Majesty nodded, then closed her eyes again.

The police car drove towards the outskirts. After about half an hour, it stopped in a deserted area. Feeling the car stop, His Majesty quietly opened her eyes, peeking forward. She saw the young police officer walk to the front of the car and start talking with a man in blue workwear.

”So, how’s the goods?”

”In the back. The little girl is sleeping pretty soundly. But this time you’ve got to pay more. It wasn’t easy to dodge the captain. I don’t even know if I’ll get away with this after I go back. I could get demoted. You need to pay me extra.”

”Of course, no problem. Here, take a hundred thousand.”

”Tsk tsk, a little girl like this is worth a hundred thousand? I should get a wife and just stay home making babies.”

”Give it a rest. It’s all about looks. With a face like yours, how pretty could your daughter possibly be? Alright, take the money, and I’ll go grab the goods. Where are they?”

”In the back.”

As they spoke, they walked to the front of the police car, frightening His Majesty into closing her eyes again. She then felt herself being picked up, swaying as they walked a few steps before being thrown onto a cold metal plate. There was a click, and the vehicle started moving again.

If His Majesty were alone, she would have probably cried by now. But she remembered that Fang Zheng was with her, which relaxed her quite a bit. Nevertheless, His Majesty was extremely tense, feeling her heart racing.

This time it wasn’t long before the vehicle stopped again. His Majesty felt herself being picked up by that man once more, swayed around for over ten minutes, when a hoarse voice arose.

”You’re here? And this one... hmm? Good color.”

”It’s a present from Lord Zhao Wei for his uncle.”

”Well... Lord Zhao Wei is quite thoughtful. Perfect, take her to room number three. The masters will be arriving shortly.”

”Yes.”

The two exchanged a few words, and His Majesty felt herself being taken away again, placed in a soft spot, then felt the ropes and tape binding her removed. Footsteps sounded, followed by the click of a door opening and closing.

Immediately thereafter, Fang Zheng’s voice reappeared.

”Okay, you can slowly open your eyes now. But... I warn you, the situation here is far worse than you imagine. Are you mentally prepared?”

”Hmm...”

Nodding, His Majesty slowly opened her eyes.

A dazzling light pierced her eyes, prompting His Majesty to shield her face with her hand. After a moment, she could see the scene in front of her clearly.

At that moment, His Majesty was utterly shocked.

”What... what is going on here?”

What she saw before her was a large room that looked like a warehouse. Additionally, the room was filled with girls wearing different clothes, varying in ages. They looked like dolls, devoid of any life, sitting still in corners hugging their knees.

To the point that they seemed lifeless.

Why are there so many girls? What exactly are they doing here?

Just as His Majesty was dumbfounded and unable to speak, a voice suddenly sounded next to her.

”Are you... new here?”
