Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1052: Chapter 1051: The War of Flesh and Steel

Shupard thought to himself that he might never forget the scene before his eyes.

Countless swarms howled forth, infiltrating every corner of the streets and alleys like a flood. The corpse puppets rushing in with screams didn’t even create a splash as they were completely devoured by the swarm. The dark red ”river” quickly spread, occupying more than half the street block in just a moment!

”Wa-wait a minute!”

At this moment, Anderson also reacted, hastily trying to step forward and stop it.

”There are still many civilians and soldiers in this city...”

”Don’t worry, they know how to distinguish between friend and foe.”

Tilia chuckled softly and then looked at the other girls.

”So, you all take responsibility for escorting those civilians and Star Alliance soldiers over.”

”Alright, this suits my preference.”

Hearing this, Eiriri, Black Cat, and Asuna exchanged glances and then nodded, quickly turning to leave. Although they had already fought corpse puppets at the space station, to be honest, they still didn’t like this kind of battle. But rescuing people was another matter, at least... this was quite rewarding.

”Illya, let’s head south!”

Little Hei also grabbed Illya, and with a few leaps, disappeared among the high-rise buildings. Meanwhile, Kurumi also led several Cursed Children towards the north.

Soon, the girls scattered, and at this time, those Reaper drones in the sky were also met with a counterattack from the swarm. After the swarm opened the base, they promptly hatched Spore Crawlers in the first wave, directly turning the Reaper drones into fireballs in the air. Then, the worker bees quickly began to hatch, and the spires stood up. At the same time, the giant eggs scattered near the Hive exploded suddenly, and fire dragons opened their mouths and roared in anger, flapping their wings to fly into the sky, vying for air supremacy with the Reaper drones.

At this moment, Shupard and others had already put down their weapons; they no longer needed to fight. Endless swarms were surging out through the wormholes—hmm, if it weren’t for the wormholes being unable to transport air units, who knows, this might’ve been a straightforward wave to take them out.

But now, watching those corpse puppets and Reaper drones’ minions, which had left them in such dire straits earlier, get completely consumed by the swarm without even a ripple, Shupard felt a bit cold inside. She had only witnessed the power of those little girls at Fang Zheng’s side at the space station before, and now it seemed... this was the true trump card of the Heavenly Dao Palace.

Asking herself honestly, even she wouldn’t want to face so many terrifying insects; they were simply impossible to deal with!!

Shupard compared the swarm before her with the Reapers she had fought before, finding the insects in front of her even more frightening. The Reapers indeed had extraordinarily powerful force, but they weren’t numerous. Shupard could rely on her response, wisdom, and luck; there was still a chance for her to hit them hard, after all, she had done it before. But when faced with such a swarm, she had not an ounce of confidence...

”—————!!”

While Shupard was lost in her thoughts, suddenly, a low sound reached her ears. She lifted her head, shocked to see a giant Reaper slowly flying toward her—notably, the swarm’s resistance had drawn the Reapers’ attention!

”Miss Tilia! The Reapers are here! What should we do?”

Looking at the gigantic creature that covered the sky, Shupard frowned deeply. If the Normandy were here, she wouldn’t be so afraid, but now the Normandy had crashed, and they didn’t have any heavy weapons to use against such a massive creature. Although these insects were numerous and seemed mighty, could they, with flesh and blood, fight against such a gigantic steel creature?

”Don’t worry, since Elder Brother asked us to come, he naturally has a plan.”

Hearing Shupard’s call, Tilia smiled slightly, then turned to look at Black Katie, who was standing beside her not far away.

”It’s your turn now, star player; engraving the mighty name of our Heavenly Dao Palace in these inferior humans’ hearts is the best opportunity. Elder Brother entrusted this to you, don’t mess it up!”

”......”

Upon hearing Tilia’s whisper, Black Katie merely glanced at her without speaking, then the Grand Priestess, dressed in a white robe, slowly floated up.

”She-she’s flying?”

Watching Black Katie float up, Anderson almost popped his eyes out, and the other soldiers were also dumbfounded. Of course, if it was solely relying on some device or special ability, they could understand. But now, the whole little girl obviously wasn’t using any special ability, nor did she seem to be using any device—so how was she flying?!

But this wasn’t the time to ponder such questions because, at this moment, the gigantic Reaper was approaching the block, beginning to open its claws, with dazzling red radiance starting to emerge...

At this moment, Black Katie, who had flown into the air, remained silent as she watched the Reaper in front of her. Then, she held the Silver Staff in her hand and gently waved it.

”Clang...”

A crisp collision sound rang out, and Black Katie raised the Silver Staff, pointing it forward.

”Stars...”

”—————!!”

Accompanying Black Katie’s call, numerous beams of light, like shooting stars, burst forth from her and shot towards the towering steel monster, over two thousand meters tall, nearby.

The Reaper, with its enormous body, was certainly not going to dodge Black Katie’s attack. All they saw were several white beams of light ripping through the sky, directly hitting the steel monster.

In the next moment, the dazzling flash practically blinded their eyes.

Bursts of explosive firelight appeared on the Reaper, and with a sound akin to a mournful cry, the enormous steel monster’s body was suddenly enveloped in rolling smoke, with even parts of its edges being blasted into large holes!

The power was akin to a nuclear bomb... no, even more terrifying than a nuclear bomb!

”Clang———!”

Seeing that the Reaper hadn’t immediately fallen, Black Katie frowned slightly, then again lifted and lightly waved the Silver Staff.

In the blink of an eye, dozens of silvery meteors pierced through the clouds, descending from the sky to hit the Reaper. This time, the massive Reaper couldn’t hold out any longer, and amidst a series of explosions and flames, it crashed to the ground and suddenly exploded.

...Oh my God, what is this? Am I dreaming?

Lieutenant General Anderson stared in shock at the little black dot in the sky. Initially, he doubted how such a little girl could combat such an enormous steel monster, but now... he was questioning if he was dreaming.

Is that little girl human?

Well, although humanity indeed entered the interstellar age and had encountered numerous strange races, even knowing some with terrifying special abilities—like the Asari, even the Asari couldn’t so easily blow up such a massive steel monster barehanded.

Know this, the size of the Reaper, surpassing even many of the Star Alliance warships!

Even if it were a Turui warship, trying to pierce through such a gigantic steel creature wouldn’t be easy. But this little girl just swung the Silver Staff and settled it that simply?

Anderson felt his lifetime had gone to the dogs, sorrowfully realizing that, apart from myth, he couldn’t find any way to explain this little girl’s actions!

”Almighty Lord... Merciful Lord...”

Not only was Anderson shaken, but many Star Alliance soldiers had already knelt down in earnest prayer. Indeed, for them, this girl in white robes, dressed like a Shrine Maiden, must be the messenger of God!

She was the Angel sent by God to save humanity!
