Chapter 1092: Chapter 1091: First Encounter with His Majesty

Looking at the man in front of him, Fang Zheng’s face grew slightly somber.

”I am no longer a prince now, mind your address.”

”Yes, my apologies, Your Highness.”

Feeling the oppressive gaze from Fang Zheng, the man in the black suit shivered, then bowed his head respectfully.

”Very well, let’s go.”

”Yes.”

Saying this, the group escorted Fang Zheng into the car and drove towards the palace.

Sitting in the car, Fang Zheng watched the nighttime scenery outside while pondering.

Naturally, to craft a character profile, one must understand the ”background.” Fang Zheng had long known through Ratziel that the current supreme leader of the Chinese Federation was His Majesty Jiang Lihua, and the identity he had set for himself was that of Jiang Lihua’s half-brother. Since he was an illegitimate prince born of a court lady, not an heir, he did not inherit the throne and was sent away.

Hmm... This is thanks to the influence of Celestial Dynasty’s online literature, crafting such an identity is truly simple.

As for the possibility of being exposed, Fang Zheng wasn’t worried at all. He knew well that many affairs in the Imperial Family were not publicized. In fact, many things were subjects of hearsay, like ”I’ve heard this,” ”maybe,” or ”it seems so.” After all, human memory can be deceptive, so even those within the Imperial Family are often quite ignorant or unaware of many issues.

At such times, they need to verify through documents.

However, this was where Fang Zheng’s confidence lay.

Whatever Ratziel set would become reality. Of course, modifying personal memories and emotions requires considerable power, yet altering documents on paper doesn’t take any effort. Therefore, even if people in the palace had doubts about his identity, once they investigated the records and confirmed that there indeed was such a prince, they would have no choice but to acknowledge his identity.

Of course, Fang Zheng set this identity after careful consideration. If the ruler of the Chinese Federation were a strong or power-obsessed person, a brother suddenly appearing would surely arouse suspicion. Brotherhood struggles over the throne have always been brutal and ruthless.

But Fang Zheng had already learned through Ratziel that the current His Majesty was alone, with no royal relatives near her, and moreover, she was just a 12-year-old girl, essentially usurped by eunuchs, and restricted in the Imperial City, unable to leave.

Describing this situation as ”having no relatives” isn’t excessive, and at such a time, if she unexpectedly learned she had a half-brother, she would naturally feel a sense of closeness, which would facilitate his actions.

And in fact, it was just as Fang Zheng had expected.

”Huh?”

Sitting on the throne, a silver-haired, red-eyed young girl widened her eyes in surprise, looking at the fat-eared eunuch before her.

”My... Imperial Brother?”

”Yes, Your Majesty. We just received word that your elder brother is about to return to the country...”

Saying this, the chubby-eared man had a constipated look on his face. He had only just received the message, and initially, all the eunuchs were equally bewildered. They had been with the Emperor for so long, how could they not know there was another heir?

Could it be a fake?

But who dared fake such a thing? That’s a surefire way to seek death!

The baffled eunuchs, as Fang Zheng anticipated, quickly dispatched people to investigate the royal records and ”indeed” found records concerning Fang Zheng.

After all, in modern times, records aren’t just on paper; all findings, including DNA, are complete. Under these conditions, the eunuchs couldn’t do much; after all, they lacked the authority to alter royal records. The records of each generation in the Imperial Family could only be modified by those with royal blood; without admin rights, the eunuchs could only watch the fun.

For His Majesty, this was almost a surprise!

She had always been alone, never imagining she might have an unseen brother. Now, this brother was returning!

The girl was both excited and nervous, unsure what kind of person her brother was, whether he would like her, or how she should behave...

Compared to the joyful young girl, the eunuchs were rather like enemies closing in on them.

The reason was simple. After this, due to caution, they revisited the records. What they found was shocking: nearly every emperor sent their first illegitimate prince away, and rarely did anyone return. But whenever these illegitimate princes did return, it was usually during national turmoil!

Of course, this was something Fang Zheng added through Ratziel; after all, using Ratziel’s power, he could modify records at any time, even those from thousands of years ago, without any issue.

This scared the eunuchs immensely, as they knew what they were doing—usurping His Majesty and seizing power was a great taboo for the royals. Think about it; how could the Imperial Family not have precautions against such eunuchs, letting them rule outside unchecked? Were emperors throughout history all fools?

The eunuchs played tricks daily, yet they were blinded by their own cunning, believing this was the truth. Yes, it had to be this! If so, then perhaps there was a group within the country, specializing in serving these removed princes with intelligence! Otherwise, how could those princes know the situation within the Imperial City?

This meant there must be spies around them!

Upon realizing this, the eunuchs were terrified, understandably so—being in power for over a decade, only to find someone continuously watching your every move from the shadows, would drive anyone insane.

Hence, with a clean conscience, there’s no fear of ghosts knocking. In fact, Fang Zheng hadn’t written much, but the guilty-minded eunuchs supplemented everything about him through their imagination!

Moreover, they found no fault with themselves—this is quite normal; the more you imagine, the more you believe it’s normal.

Though the eunuchs considered assassinating Fang Zheng, the thought of scrutiny from his potential spies stopped them from acting recklessly. They merely doubted that this ”prince” returned to cause trouble; they weren’t certain.

But if they truly attacked the prince, their crime would be confirmed!

At that time, even divine intervention wouldn’t save them!

So, despite their apprehension, they could only pray.

However, at this moment, a voice echoed.

”His Highness Fang Zheng has arrived!”

With the announcement, everyone saw Fang Zheng steadily walking in from outside the main gate. He walked up to the grand hall, approached His Majesty, and then bowed his head.

”Nice to meet you, Your Majesty.”

”Ah... Hello, Imperial Brother...”

Facing Fang Zheng, the young girl seemed somewhat at a loss, and upon seeing this, a eunuch next to her stepped forward, shouting loudly.

”Insolent! Before His Majesty, you dare not kneel!”

However, hearing the reprimand, Fang Zheng did not kneel as suggested; instead, he raised his head, staring at the eunuch before him.

”A mere eunuch, daring to speak in the grand hall without His Majesty’s permission?”

”—————!”

Hearing this, the eunuch froze in shock, breaking into a cold sweat instantly. He had been in power for so long, nearly forgetting the palace rules. In the grand hall, eunuchs had no right to speak; without the Emperor’s direction, they couldn’t even utter a word!

This matter could be as serious or minor as needed, with penalties ranging from imprisonment to execution!

”.........”

Upon realizing this, the eunuch immediately broke into a cold sweat, humbly bowing again, refraining from speaking.

”Your Majesty.”

Fang Zheng once more addressed the young girl.

”I wish to speak with Your Majesty alone.”

”Alright, I also wish to have a good talk with my Imperial Brother.”

Hearing Fang Zheng, the young girl nodded happily. It was the first time she had seen someone able to subdue these eunuchs; she was overjoyed!

”Your, Your Majesty, this might not be appropriate...”

Listening to their conversation, another eunuch beside her quickly interjected.

”What if...”

Yet, before he could finish, Fang Zheng cast him a cold glance.

The next moment, the eunuch felt as if struck by lightning, not daring to speak out again.

”Leave now, this is not where you should be.”

”Yes... Your Highness.”

Listening to Fang Zheng’s dismissive words, the eunuchs could only slink away dejected. Once they had left, Fang Zheng turned back to the young girl, smiling slightly.

”Now, we can have a good conversation.”
