Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1065: Chapter 1064: The Final Scream

Although the Reaper in front of them looked bizarre, the group didn’t particularly mind. After all, they had destroyed countless Reapers on their way here, so dealing with one more was not a problem. Soon, the fleet’s artillery fired in unison, aimed at the target.

At first, this Reaper could hardly withstand the attacks, frantically waving its arms in front of itself, trying to fend off the Azure Fleet’s assault. However, just as it was about to be blown up, the giant Reaper suddenly flickered and vanished into thin air!

Vanished?!

Seeing the Reaper suddenly disappear, Fang Zheng was also stunned, but he quickly realized that the Reaper had reappeared on the other side of the fleet, waving its arms and pouncing on the nearest warship.

”Fleet, change course, attack!”

This time, without Fang Zheng needing to speak, Iona immediately made a decisive order, and hundreds of torpedoes from the Annihilation Level were launched almost instantly, attacking the humanoid Reaper from all directions.

However, just as Iona and the other Mind Models launched their attacks, the humanoid Reaper flickered and disappeared again, escaping their lock-on.

”This is......”

Faced with this unimaginable scene, the Mind Models were puzzled, but Fang Zheng widened his eyes in amazement. The reason was simple; at the moment the Reaper disappeared, Fang Zheng keenly sensed its fluctuations, and those were...... Boson Jump!!

Fang Zheng was instantly shocked.

Are you kidding me? Even I figured out this ”theoretical” black tech movement method by drawing inspiration from the records on the Nadeshiko and with the authority to manipulate time as a Time Dragon. How is a Reaper capable of Boson Jump?

Are you teasing me?

Of course, Fang Zheng also noticed that this Reaper didn’t seem very familiar with Boson Jump yet, more like an instinctive evasive action. But judging from the frequency of its evasion, it was slowly getting familiar with and mastering this ability.

What a joke, what would happen if a Reaper mastered this ability?

”Iona, open the hatch, I’m going to take it down!”

With that in mind, Fang Zheng immediately gave the command. Since Boson Jump affects time rather than space, the Azure Fleet’s stasis weapons were of little use. To take this guy down, it had to be someone like him who could inhibit its use of the Power of Time.

”Yes.”

”Boom!”

But just as they were speaking, whether by luck or deliberate preparation, when the humanoid Reaper ”flickered” out again, a silent Fearless Ship suddenly opened fire, and a golden light beam struck the Reaper’s chest, blasting a large hole.

And at the same time, a piercing scream suddenly rang in Fang Zheng’s mind.

”Ahhhhh......!!”

The series of screams made Fang Zheng raise an eyebrow, but before he could speak, he saw that Asuna and others standing not far away had strange expressions.

”Mr. Fang Zheng, I seem to have heard a scream......”

”I heard it too...... It’s so uncomfortable, like the sound is being sent directly into your head...... Ugh......”

Is this psychic sensing? Or some special ability?

Seeing the girls’ somewhat pained expressions, Fang Zheng’s face also changed. He hurriedly reached out his hand, and soon, Holy Light radiated from his palm, enveloping the girls. Under the illumination of the Holy Light, their previously pained expressions gradually returned to normal.

”Ugh...... Thank you, Mr. Fang Zheng, that was really scary just now......”

”Yes, yes......”

Eiriri also swayed her ponytail, still looking as if she were somewhat shaken.

”It was just like the wailing of ghosts......”

”Is there such a thing?”

Hearing this, Fang Zheng looked towards Nymph and Yui beside him.

”Did you hear anything?”

”......Sorry, Master, I didn’t hear any sounds.”

”Neither did I, Daddy......”

”What about Iona?”

”No signs of sound waves penetrating, Captain.”

So only the organics picked up this ”wave”?

What exactly is this Reaper?

The previous Reapers never showed similar abilities; why is this Reaper so special? Could it be that they used these individuals from Another World as ”materials” to create Reapers, resulting in such changes?

”Mingren———!”

However, just as Fang Zheng was deep in thought, a scream in his ear startled him. Turning to look, he saw on the surveillance screen that the Nadeshiko’s naive captain was desperately trying to rush out, while the people around her were holding her back.

”Let me go, let me go, I need to see Mingren! I heard his voice! He’s saying save me......! I must save him!”

”.........”

What is this?

Looking at the hysterical captain, Fang Zheng was dumbfounded, but quickly he regained his focus, deciding not to pay attention to the fuss on the Nadeshiko.

”Iona, open the door!”

”Yes, Master.”

Soon, the hatch opened, and Fang Zheng stepped out, leaving the warship. He stood on the deck, raising his hands.

In the next moment, burning flames radiated from Fang Zheng’s hands, transforming into two sharp blades—one black, one white. Simultaneously, the uniform of the Undead Squad reappeared on Fang Zheng’s body.

”Hoo—————”

Fang Zheng gripped the Longsword in his hand and closed his eyes. He could sense everything around him, including time, space, the trembling——— over there!

Fang Zheng suddenly opened his eyes, and in a flash, the Pitch Black Greatsword in his right hand erupted with blazing, blazing red flames. The Radiance, like that of the Sun, illuminated the previously dim universe, drawing a long trail as it charged towards the Reaper that had just appeared not far away via Boson Jump.

”Haaahhhhh!!”

Accompanied by a roar, Fang Zheng faced the gigantic metallic creature in front of him and swung his sword. The forty-meter Greatsword of flames unhesitatingly slashed down on the Reaper. The Reaper seemed to sense the danger approaching, raising its hands in a panic to try and block Fang Zheng’s assault.

But in the next instant, the Flame Great Blade cut through the Reaper’s hands as if slicing through butter.

”—————!!”

The Reaper opened its mouth, and although it produced no sound in the vacuum of space, many people heard the sharp scream that echoed in their minds. As the Reaper’s arms were severed, Fang Zheng saw dark yellow liquid gushing from the gaps of the Reaper’s severed limbs, turning into water-like masses floating in space, only to be completely vaporized by the searing heat of the Flame Sword.

At this moment, the Reaper seemed to realize something was wrong. Its body flickered, clearly trying to use Boson Jump to escape again. However, this time, it failed to escape as it had before. The invisible Power of Time no longer obeyed the Reaper’s command, and it could only stay despairingly and helplessly in place, watching as the forty-meter Flame Great Blade came slashing towards it.

”Boom—————!!”

With dazzling light and explosions, this humanoid Reaper was completely shattered into fragments, vanishing into cosmic dust.

Meanwhile, Fang Zheng also felt the wailing, like that of a Necromancer, in his mind gradually disappear.
