Chapter 1070: Chapter 1069: The Antarctic Base Tragedy (Part 1)

For the Earth Federation leadership, these few hours of ups and downs made quite a few of them start taking Quick-Acting Heart-Saving Pills.

When they heard that the Reapers had arrived in front of Earth, a batch of people fainted in shock.

Then, when they learned that Earth’s fleet was unable to hold them off, another batch of people fainted in shock.

However, amidst the chaos in the conference hall, suddenly came the news of reinforcements arriving and successfully repelling the Reapers, the leadership cheered ecstatically, with some directly fainting from excitement.

Then now... they suddenly learned that the mysterious fleet was heading towards Antarctica?

And then some people...

”I’m fine!”

The chairman of the Earth Federation Joint Chiefs of Staff, a fat, bald-headed man, waved his hand after stuffing a handful of Quick-Acting Heart-Saving Pills in his mouth fiercely. He warded off the doctors who skillfully rushed to the podium, intending to put him on a stretcher. What kind of joke is this? Can’t see that only a few of us are still okay now? If you carry me away, who’s going to spread the good news to the citizens of the Earth Federation later? This is a great opportunity to boost his reputation and support rate!

Whoever dares to snatch it from him, he’d go all out against them!

”What now?”

Seeing that his superior seemed to have regained his vitality, the adjutant hurriedly stepped forward to inquire. Previously, the Federation leadership had already decided to send a delegation to contact this mysterious force, they are not blind. From the battle report and footage sent back by Admiral Goto, they could already see that this mysterious force possesses strong scientific and technological skills! If they could acquire these skills, then their Earth Federation would gain unprecedented power!

At that time, the entire universe would be under the control of the Earth Federation!

At that time, these few old hands even untaughtly mastered New Humanity telepathy, exchanging ideas with eye contact entirely without language at the conference hall.

”We must gain the upper hand in communication with that mysterious force!”

”Beware of those guys from Zeon and PLANT, they will certainly stop at nothing to disrupt our plan!”

”Rest assured, later during the live broadcast, I will represent the Earth Federation to welcome those mysterious guests, if PLANT and Zeon dare to cause trouble, they will be sinners against all humanity!”

However, just as these few old hands finished exchanging glances and were planning to act, they received the report that the fleet was heading towards Antarctica...

Fortunately, this old guy always carries Quick-Acting Heart-Saving Pills with him, only then did he catch his breath; otherwise, they might have to start voting on the next chairman candidate for the Joint Chiefs of Staff here.

”The plan remains unchanged.”

Although the fat, bald-headed chairman was quite unhappy with the mysterious fleet for disrespecting the Earth Federation, he wasn’t a fool and did not show it, instead, he immediately made a decision.

”Begin the live broadcast in five minutes! Also, immediately call the Antarctic research base, once the other party wants to communicate, immediately convey our invitation from this side! Right, have the Antarctic base immediately store all their monster research reports! Maybe we can use them in the future! Also, let Admiral Goto’s Cosmic Fleet collect as many of those metal monster remains as possible!”

As the highest ruler of the Earth Federation, the fat, bald-headed man naturally knew what was being researched at the Antarctic base. In fact, their reason for capturing and researching these peculiar creatures was that they valued their ability to fly and battle in outer space vacuum. If they could thoroughly understand these monsters’ abilities, perhaps they could find a way to control these monsters, at that time... the Earth Federation would have another trump card!

With these creatures capable of acting in a vacuum, they could fight against PLANT’s Mobile Suits without a doubt!

As for those creatures called Reapers... naturally, they couldn’t be ignored!

”Understood.”

Upon hearing this, the adjutant nodded and quickly left. The fat, bald-headed man glanced at the time on his watch, then looked towards the camera ahead. As the countdown ended, accompanied by green lights lighting up, he flashed a slight smile in front of the camera and began to speak slowly.

”Citizens of the Earth Federation, I have good news to tell all of you. Just now, we have successfully and completely eradicated the army of metallic monsters—Reapers—trying to invade Earth! Through the efforts of all humanity, we have finally successfully protected Earth!”

As he spoke, the fat, bald-headed man excitedly raised his hand, through the screen, he heard the cheers of the gathered people, which made the fat, bald-headed man even more excited. But he was very aware that this was just the beginning, he still had things to do.

”Importantly, this victory is not just the victory of our Federation Army. It was a mysterious fleet that fought alongside us, allowing us to work together to repel this Reaper invasion. Here, on behalf of the Earth Federation, I express my gratitude to them! Our Earth Federation always welcomes friends willing to support us! I hope we can fight side by side in the upcoming battles and completely eradicate those terrifying monsters!”

”Humph!”

Hearing this, Gihren Zabi, who sat on the sofa with short gray hair and dressed in a black uniform, snorted coldly.

”These Earth Federation jokers are really good planners.”

The appearance of Heavenly Dao Palace’s fleet could be concealed from ordinary people, but could not be hidden from the heads and representatives of various forces. After all, in the previous battle, almost all forces had dispatched their most elite warships to participate, and precisely because of this, they all knew that a mysterious and powerful fleet had joined the battle. It was this fleet’s appearance that eradicated those Reapers, allowing Earth to temporarily maintain peace.

But...

”Admiral, should we...?”

”Do not act rashly for now.”

Gihren waved his hand, interrupting his subordinate’s suggestion.

”The old hands of the Earth Federation always managed to mess things up. For now, it is best for us to do nothing, just silently wait by the side... Hm, that won’t work either, right...

At this thought, Gihren seemed to have an idea.

”Let those greedy merchants have a try. Since they love doing business so much, let’s see if they find any good deals with these peculiar Aliens...”

But nobody knows, the situation has already transformed without their realizing...

Antarctic Base—a few hours ago.

”The test subjects started to riot!”

A researcher in a white coat hurriedly ran into the office of the Supreme Commander of the base and reported loudly.

”How could this happen? Did you use tranquilizers? Triple strength ones!”

”No, we can’t get close to those creatures now. They seem to have received some orders and crazily launched attacks on us!”

”Wasn’t there the Binding Ring?”

”The Binding Ring couldn’t restrain their actions at all... they... they...”

Saying this, the researcher in white coat couldn’t help but shiver. When capturing these monsters, they fitted them with Binding Rings. Whenever these monsters dared to attack, they would be electrified by a current attack. These monsters had indeed suffered much foolery initially.

But... just now, when they intended to use this trick again, they were astonished to find those dragon-like monsters could actually turn their bodies into shadows, thus freeing themselves from the Binding Rings!

They actually have this ability?

Although it was only a few seconds, it was enough for these monsters to break free from restraint!

”Report!”

At this moment, suddenly, another communication came in.

”The test subjects have breached the Third District! Request for backup! Request for backup!!”

”Damn... Immediately dispatch Mobile Suits to aid! We must suppress all these monsters!”

”Boom!!”

The thick alloy gate exploded, a Flying Dragon flapped its wings and emerged from inside. It glanced around once, then looked at the corridor ahead, spewing a Fireball. Soon, the blazing fire erupted and spread, enclosing the surroundings in a sea of flames, burning the researchers and equipment to ashes.

However, not everything was scorched.

”Bang!”

A sealed cryo-container was blasted open, the flames quickly devouring the cooling layer within. Shortly thereafter, an insect stored inside the container began to awaken—researchers had come across this insect in the claw of a Flying Dragon, frozen stiff at the time, and stored it away.

Due to the thick armor of the insect, ordinary experimental instruments couldn’t penetrate its armor; therefore, researchers stored this insect in the container for freezing preservation.

However now, this insect had again awakened.

It bounced vigorously a few times, then fell onto the smooth floor with a ’plop’. Next, the insect raised its head, glanced around, afterward, it suddenly contracted, turning into an egg.

As for the Antarctic Base, thus the nightmare began...
