Chapter 1077: Chapter 1076: The Dark Moon Sword Appears

The battle in Shinjuku continues.

”Is that it?”

Standing atop a tall building, watching a red mecha being pursued on the distant street, Fang Zheng snorted coldly. He had just hacked into the Britannian Army’s channel, finally understanding the entire situation.

First, the Britannian Army was attacked by a group of terrorists who stole a poison gas bomb (though Fang Zheng and others knew it was not actually a poison gas bomb) and got discovered while escaping. One of the terrorists piloted a red mecha to confront them, while the other drove away.

The outcome was that the latter crashed, and the former is still being pursued.

”Eiriri, you handle reconnaissance and locking, Black Cat, Asuna, come with me!”

While speaking, Fang Zheng raised the black greatsword in his hand.

”Let’s show the people of this world the power of our Dark Moon Sword!”

A series of bullets whizzed past, hitting the mecha and causing minor vibrations.

”Damn, damn... Hey, what’s going on? Answer me?!”

While piloting the mecha to escape, Karen was calling for her companions. As a member of the Rebel Forces, she hadn’t expected to be hunted down, but the severity of the current situation shocked her.

”The mecha’s energy is down to thirty minutes...”

Looking at the warning symbols on the panel, Karen tightly gripped the control stick but found no way out. However, at this moment, suddenly, four mechas appeared in front of Karen, blocking her path.

”Driver ahead, stop immediately! Or we’ll open fire!”

”Damn!!”

With the way ahead blocked and being pursued from behind, for a moment, Karen didn’t know what to do.

Suddenly, a dazzling firelight descended from the sky in front of Karen.

”Boom!!”

The next moment, scorching red flames erupted from the center of those four mechas, blowing them apart completely.

”Whoa, what happened? Were we attacked? Are there comrades?”

The mechas blown away quickly adjusted their posture and landed back on the ground, raising their guns to aim forward, then froze.

”What is that...?”

Not only were the Britannian soldiers puzzled, but Karen was too. In front of her stood a figure wearing silver armor with a crimson cape, helmeted, looking like a Western knight holding a pitch black greatsword and a silver dagger, appearing as a war god walking from the flames.

But that should only be... a human, right?

”You bastard, what trick did you pull?! Are you one of the terrorists? Attack! Attack!”

Seeing the strange knight suddenly appear, the Britannian Army’s mecha hurriedly launched an attack.

But, as they opened fire, Karen saw the strange knight suddenly flash, sprinting forward with unimaginable speed!

”Rat-tat-tat-tat!!”

The gunfire rang, but not a single bullet could catch up with the Silver Knight’s movements. He lowered his body, like a leopard rushing toward its prey, and by the time he reached the mecha’s side, Karen saw him raise his right hand, holding the greatsword, and swing forward!

”Slash———!”

The next moment, the tall, solid mecha was sliced diagonally into two, then exploded.

”...What just happened?”

Seeing this, Karen was utterly dumbfounded. Was she dreaming? A person, with just a sword, cut through Britannia’s regular military mecha?

Not just Karen, even the Britannian pilots clearly hadn’t expected such a situation.

”What happened?”

”A person cut through a mecha?! Is that a creature?!”

Such a reaction is not surprising, as humans in this world are inherently fragile. Even when piloting mechas, some may unleash great power, but without mechas, they are just ordinary humans. But now... a person, a sword, sliced through their mechas?

Ridiculous!

”Attack, attack...!”

However, their resistance had no effect.

The Nightmare Mecha might be effective against unarmed civilians and ordinary soldiers, but to Fang Zheng, this mecha was a paper toy. He didn’t even need defensive magic, merely relying on his reflexes and strength to easily dodge the mecha’s attacks, closing in once more and swinging his sword again.

”Argh———!”

With a scream, another Nightmare Mecha was sliced in half, exploding into pieces.

Take advantage and go!

At this moment, Karen finally reacted. She quickly activated her mecha, trying to escape using this opportunity, but to her surprise, as she just turned, the screen in front of her suddenly flickered and the mecha lost control, completely paralyzed in place.

”System lock?”

Looking at the message on the screen, Karen was speechless. How could this be? Her mecha system was hacked?

”Stay put there for me.”

Meanwhile, a strange male voice sounded in Karen’s communications channel.

”I have questions for you later.”

”Wait, who are you? What do you want?”

Hearing this voice, Karen hurriedly asked, but the other party evidently didn’t plan to respond, leaving Karen to sulk in silence on the communications channel.

But wait, there are pursuers behind! You locked my operating system, what am I supposed to do?

Thinking of this, Karen quickly looked back, and as expected, she saw four mechas responsible for pursuing her already rushing in.

But... they didn’t attack her as Karen had feared.

Because at the moment they appeared, someone had already rushed up.

Karen saw two petite figures cloaked in capes flash toward them, and the next moment, the leading two Nightmare Mechas shattered, not even a breath later, the previously arrogant Britannian Army had been routed. Although they were operating the most elite mechas, against these people, they were utterly helpless. In the blink of an eye, the four Nightmare Mechas blocking the front and the pursuing ones behind were turned to fragments, burning fiercely in the flames.

So powerful...

Watching this scene before her, Karen gasped, she had never heard of anyone who could dismantle mechas directly! Who are these people?

Who exactly are they?

While Karen was shocked, the originally silent communication loop was filled with the man’s voice once more.

”Alright, miss, come down, we have questions for you.”
