Chapter 1088: Chapter 1087: This Isn’t the Script We Agreed On!

As the Sun rises once again, all of Tokyo descends into a cacophony.

”Ladies and gentlemen, please watch, today the signing ceremony will take place at the Governor’s Office, as previously agreed, the people of Area 11 will be relocated to Okinawa, where they will start a new life! The execution of this treaty will be witnessed by the Earth Federation! With this, our world moves one step closer to peace! Now, vehicles have arrived, representatives of the Liberal Faction have walked out of the hotel, please watch!”

”Phew...”

At the hotel entrance, the curly-haired man in a suit took a deep breath, then looked to the near distance, where three prepared cars were slowly approaching and stopped in front of them.

The curly-haired man walked to the first car, then looked to the back, watching Katase and the members of the Japanese Liberation Front walk to the second car, only then did he relax. Soon, the convoy quickly started up, heading forward.

”Eh?”

However, midway, the curly-haired man suddenly noticed that something seemed amiss.

According to the previous arrangement, after the second turn, the car behind should be guided to another place. But soon, they would arrive at the treaty signing venue, yet the car was still following behind... What is actually happening?

Could something have gone wrong? Or has the opposite party actually switched cars without him noticing?

Thinking of this, the curly-haired man forced himself to calm down and started thinking about his speech during the signing, instead of focusing on the situation behind.

Before long, the convoy arrived at the Governor’s Office, the curly-haired man was the first to get out of the car, then turned his head — to his surprise, he saw Katase and other Japanese Liberation Front members coming out of the second car behind him!

”???

Even if the curly-haired man’s intelligence was low, he realized something was wrong, he wanted to do something, but right now, he could do nothing. He was the march organizer representative of Area 11, also the core figure in the signing, even if he wanted to find a chance to escape now, it was impossible, not to mention the tight security and the live broadcast, he couldn’t get away even if he wanted to!

Therefore, despite his inner turmoil, the curly-haired man tidied up his suit and walked forward to exchange pleasantries with the person welcoming him, then walked into the Governor’s Office.

The entire process was very smooth.

Entering the Governor’s Office, speaking in front of the guests, shaking hands, taking photos, everything went smoothly.

But because everything was too smooth, it made the curly-haired man even more anxious and fearful.

What on earth is going on? It’s clearly agreed upon! A warning had been issued to that Governor long ago, why is there no movement at all? He just confirmed that all members sent by the Japanese Liberation Front were there, none were missing, even the items they used to disguise their weapons were placed by their side — what’s happening here?!

To be honest, at times, the curly-haired man even considered jumping up regardless of everything, shouting to everyone ”These people are from the Japanese Liberation Front, they are here to kidnap the Governor!”

But each time, the curly-haired man hesitated, after all, the people were with him, and what if they succeed?

Indeed, the Japan Autonomous Region is very enticing, but if successful, wouldn’t they be able to completely reclaim their country?

The Liberation Front’s intentions were clear to the curly-haired man, they would use Governor Clovis as a hostage to negotiate with Britannia, demanding Britannia withdraw from Japanese land and re-recognize Japan as a nation, while both parties must sign a Non-Aggression Pact, and Britannia must provide war reparations to Japan...

What an enticing future...

If it truly succeeded, wouldn’t it be better than establishing an autonomous region in Okinawa?

Then let’s do it, he would neither support nor oppose it, watch if they could succeed, if they succeed, it would be the best outcome, if they don’t succeed, then at least he had informed the Governor in advance, by claiming he was coerced by the Liberation Front, it should be fine!

After a series of inconsequential speeches, finally, Clovis appeared before everyone, smiling as he shook hands with the curly-haired man, cordially taking photos, then the two sat on opposite sides of the table, reaching out to take pens to prepare to sign the agreement.

”Act now!”

Just at this moment, with a shout of anger, the Liberation Front members disguised as companions behind the curly-haired man immediately drew concealed blades and firearms, rushing towards the opposite side.

Seems the people at the Governor’s Office didn’t anticipate such a situation, they were utterly shocked, however, they couldn’t even struggle, as Clovis, who was sitting in the chair, was directly held at gunpoint against his head.

”Nobody move or we will shoot!”

”.........”

Facing this sudden scene, everyone present was stunned, then in an instant, the entire venue erupted like an explosion.

Screams, roars, and various sounds burst forth, the curly-haired man sat at the table in a daze, staring at this scene, his brain was completely blank.

Did they really succeed?

How is that possible?

”How is it possible?”

Not only the curly-haired man, truth be told, even the little girls watching the ”live broadcast” were dumbfounded. Only Kurumi and the Green-haired Girl appeared calm... oh, she introduced herself as C.C, of course, this sounds like a fake name, but Fang Zheng didn’t care.

But C.C cared, hearing Fang Zheng call her ”Hey” ”That person” ”Green hair, come over here” all day long... she almost felt an impulse to reveal her real name to him.

”Mr. Fang Zheng, what, what’s happening here?”

Asuna grabbed Fang Zheng’s arm, asking puzzledly. She was not shocked that these people dared to attempt kidnapping at such a venue, but that Governor Clovis, knowing a day in advance, didn’t have any response, just letting himself be kidnaped?

”Don’t move!”

The guards now also reacted, hurriedly raised their guns pointing at Katase, who held his pistol against Clovis’ temple.

”We now have the Governor in our hands, and demand direct dialogue with Britannia’s highest authority! We want to present our demands!”

”What are your demands?”

Then, a soldier who seemed to be the commander on-site asked, and Katase proudly chuckled, then shouted.

”We demand Britannia withdraw from our Japanese lands, recognize our nation’s re-independence, and require both parties sign a Non-Aggression Pact, forbidding further wars and invasions upon us! Also, Britannia must provide adequate war reparations!”

”This...”

”That’s impossible!”

But before the soldier could speak, Clovis, suddenly held at gunpoint, shouted loudly.

”You should not dream of extorting our sacred Empire with such methods, as an Empire member we would rather face Death’s Embrace than negotiate with you terrorists! People, arrest them!”

”Shut up!”

Faced with Clovis’s reaction, Katase clearly was astonished, he fiercely pushed against Clovis, yelling furiously.

”Speak again, and I’ll kill you!”

”Then kill me! As an Empire’s Governor, I will never let my death disgrace the Empire! You can kill me, but you won’t extort our sacred Britannian Empire!”

Just then, Clovis took an unexpected action, he suddenly turned to break free from Katase’s hold, then reached for Katase’s gun.

”You bastard!”

Seeing Clovis dare to resist, Katase was also shocked, hurriedly fired a ”bang” at Clovis, then witnessed Clovis’ chest bloom a blood flower, afterward he fell to the ground, motionless.

Witnessing this, everyone in the venue was stunned, in the next instant, the soldier angrily shouted.

”.........They actually killed the Governor, arrest them!!”

With the command, suddenly gunfire erupted, and everyone screamed, dropping to the floor.

Since the Liberation Front’s original plan was to kidnap the hostage, they didn’t have many people, couldn’t confront the Britannian soldiers, therefore soon, the lead kidnapper Katase was shot dead, and others were swiftly captured. As for Governor Clovis, fallen in a pool of blood, was rapidly sent to the hospital for rescue.

Why did it happen this way?

Sitting dumbly at the table, staring at the scene before, the curly-haired man couldn’t comprehend why things turned out like this. Where exactly went wrong?

But before the curly-haired man could figure it out, the next moment he was grabbed by the soldier, his head pressed against the table.

”Arrest him too!”
