Chapter 1072: Chapter 1071: The Tragedy at the Antarctic Base (Part 2)

If the Flying Dragon is the king of the skies, then this confined space belongs to the Aliens.

As the Aliens spread, the entire Antarctic Base quickly became a dead zone.

”Help, help!!”

”Don’t come any closer, creature!!”

Pressing tightly against the door, listening to the screams coming from outside, the person in charge of the base was trembling, seeing the scarlet warning signs on the screen indicating that the entire base had fallen. However, he still had a chance, as long as he could escape from here...

Thinking this, the person in charge trembled as he approached the desk, then took a gun out of the drawer. He quickly went to the wall and pulled down a seemingly unremarkable lamp stand. Soon, with the sound of a slight mechanism, the bookshelf slowly moved aside, revealing the emergency escape elevator behind it.

Then the person in charge rushed into the elevator and quickly pressed the top floor button.

Soon, the elevator closed and began to ascend rapidly. However, just then, a rough voice came from his headset.

”This is the base guard force! What’s going on down there? Can anyone hear me? Please respond!”

”I hear you!”

Hearing this voice, the person in charge was so happy that he almost jumped up.

”Head to Hangar A-3 immediately, protect my evacuation, the entire research area is totally out of control, lock it down from the outside immediately, I repeat, the entire research area is totally out of control! We have to leave here immediately! Send a distress signal to Base No.1!”

The person in charge no longer cared whether he would face a military court; getting out of here was better than dying at the hands of the creatures!

”Ding Dong.”

Meanwhile, the elevator slowly stopped, the door opened, and a biting cold wind quickly blew in, causing the base person in charge to shiver, but he gritted his teeth and quickly walked out. At the same time, he saw several MS standing not far away, holding weapons and guarding the surroundings. Seeing these MS, the person in charge finally breathed a sigh of relief and quickly ran toward them.

”Hey! Get me out of here quickly, come on, right now... Where’s our plane?”

”Report, sir, the current weather is severe, the transport plane cannot take off or land, you will have to leave by vehicle...”

”Damn it...”

Hearing the soldier’s report, the person in charge gritted his teeth but still quickly got into the transport vehicle that had driven over.

”Let’s get out of here immediately!”

”Yes!”

The leading soldier saluted, then quickly got in the car. The MS above then escorted the vehicle out of the base quickly.

”Whew...”

Sitting in the safe transport vehicle, the person in charge finally breathed a sigh of relief. He reached into his pocket and took out a remote control, hesitated for a moment. Keeping the base might allow the Earth Federation to send people to retake it in the future, but... even so, he would be sent to a military court.

After all, those in power would need a scapegoat, and undoubtedly, that scapegoat would be him.

In that case, might as well blow this damned place up!

Thinking this, the person in charge reached out to press the button on the remote control.

However, just at that moment...

”Boom!”

Suddenly, the whole transport vehicle jolted violently, causing the person in charge, who was sitting in the seat, to jump up, and the remote control in his hand was thrown aside.

”What happened? What’s going on?”

Shouting loudly, the person in charge looked out of the window, but could see nothing except the howling blizzard.

”Report, sir, we don’t know, it seems something is moving below the ice layer under us... life signs detected; it’s huge...!”

However, the message from this MS wasn’t finished when a gigantic shadow emerged from beneath the thick ice under their feet. It surfaced from the depths of the water and then crashed into the ice layer!

”Boom!!!”

The thick ice shattered like fragile glass at this impact, and soon, icy water began to pour in, submerging the MS team and the transport vehicle carrying the person in charge without any resistance.

”Scatter, scatter!!”

With no time to care about the transport vehicle and the person in charge already submerged in the water, the team captain of MS immediately gave orders and then quickly maneuvered his MS to activate the jet pack to evade. But just as his MS was airborne, a huge, soft tentacle, like that of an octopus, suddenly emerged from the water and wrapped around the MS, dragging it into the water with a ”splash.”

In the blink of an eye, everything returned to a deafening silence, leaving only the howling blizzard and the rippling sea to speak of what had just happened...

By the time Fang Zheng arrived at the Antarctic Base, all he saw was a deathly silence.

”Wow, this is tragic...”

Stepping off the spaceship and seeing the base belching black smoke and the empty scenery all around, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but gasp. He had just received the Swarm’s report, and based on the timeline, when Fang Zheng led the fleet to engage in battle with the Reapers on Earth Federation grounds, this Swarm had already taken over the entire Antarctic Base and was having fun there.

And now...

Fang Zheng walked up to the tightly closed gate of the base, activated his personal terminal, and scanned the gate. With a ”beep,” the gate slowly creaked open, revealing the empty space illuminated by cold white lights inside.

Of course, following the typical horror movie trope, the protagonist would send a team in to investigate, battling it out with the creatures.

But did Fang Zheng need that? Of course not!

”———!”

Looking at the ”horror movie entrance” in front of him, Fang Zheng put his fingers in his mouth and whistled.

”Little guys, come on out, we’re leaving!”

”Hiss———!”

With Fang Zheng’s call, it wasn’t long before a large group of Aliens came running from the depths of the passage, gathered around Fang Zheng, frolicking and rolling like huskies...

Meanwhile, the Flying Dragon emerged from another side of the transport channel, flapping its wings and circling in the air.

And...

”Boom!”

The distant ice layer exploded once again, and a beautiful creature flew out, quietly lying beside Fang Zheng.

”So you even hatched a Kraken? Alright...”

Patting the head of the Alien next to him and then the Kraken, Fang Zheng shook his head and snapped his fingers.

”Alright, get on the ship, let’s go!”

As for what happens next to this Antarctic Base, what does it have to do with Fang Zheng?

After retrieving the Swarm stranded in this world, Fang Zheng led the fleet back to the cosmos, and as he pondered what to do next, Asuna and the others approached Fang Zheng somewhat bashfully.

”Mr. Fang Zheng, um...we have a request to make of you...”

”Oh? What is it?”

Hearing Asuna’s inquiry, Fang Zheng turned and gazed at the girl before him. After the battle with the Reapers in the Quality World, Asuna, Eiriri, and Black Cat had shed their previous naivety, appearing more mature.

”We’d like to take a tour of Japan in this world.”

Black Cat cheerfully revealed their intention.

”After all, the Japan of different worlds is always interesting, can we go take a look?”

”Hmm, that’s understandable.”

Fang Zheng certainly understood their feelings, as he too in every world would take a look at the condition of his homeland in that world. Of course, generally speaking, if his homeland wasn’t in trouble, Fang Zheng wouldn’t meddle and instead treated it as a tourist sightseeing.

”Of course, no problem, just as well... let Iona lead the First Fleet to track down the remaining Reapers, I’ll accompany you to visit Japan... let me check.”

While speaking, Fang Zheng took out the Ratziel and did an investigation, raising his eyebrows.

”Hmm?”

”What’s the matter, Mr. Fang Zheng?”

”Hmm... just don’t be surprised by the news according to Ratziel; this world... seems to have no Japan.”

”Eh?!”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s response, Asuna, Eiriri, Black Cat, and Kurumi were all shocked.

”Did it sink?”

Hmm... indeed, for people living on the edge of volcanic seismic tsunami zones, the train of thought is quite peculiar.

”It’s not that.”

Fang Zheng shook his head.

”According to records, Japan was invaded and annexed by an empire called Britannia a few years ago... and now it’s renamed...”

At this point, Fang Zheng’s lips curled.

”Area 11.”
