Chapter 595: Chapter 594: The Hunt from the Abyssal Watcher

In a lavish guest room reminiscent of a five-star hotel, Fang Zheng had a pleasant sleep and partook in a breakfast that was barely satisfactory in his eyes. Afterwards, he was invited to the study on the second floor, where Intagura and Walter had already been waiting for him.

”It seems you have a request for me,” he said as he entered the room.

This caught Intagura off-guard, raising an eyebrow.

”Why do you think that?” she asked.

”It’s evident from the treatment I’ve received,” he replied.

While speaking, Fang Zheng glanced at his attire; he was no longer wearing the Farron Undead Legion’s armor, but a well-fitted black suit.

”In any era, in any world, no one would bathe a prisoner, dress him up, and then serve him a lavish meal unless they needed something from him. Moreover, since your strength is far from matching mine, this meal obviously isn’t my last supper. It seems clear that you want to establish good relations with me, am I right?” Fang Zheng said while searching for a sofa opposite Intagura and sitting down. Hearing Fang Zheng’s analysis, Intagura didn’t show any change in expression, except for a slight humph when he mentioned her inferior strength, although she possibly restrained herself from reacting further in consideration of decorum.

”Yes, we would like to collaborate with you. We have already examined the bodies in the village yesterday. It’s true; you killed those villagers who turned into ghouls. It appears you not only possess formidable strength but also share similar goals with us to some extent. Hence, I believe our cooperation would be beneficial...”

”Cooperation...” Fang Zheng pondered upon hearing Intagura’s suggestion.

”Then, what benefits would I receive?” he inquired.

”We can offer you a substantial commission and prepare a legal identity for you,” Intagura said, her lips slightly curling into a smile.

”It must be difficult here without a legal identity. We, the HELLSING agency, can help you solve these problems, even disposing of any criminal activities you might be involved in. However, in return, we hope you will join us in hunting down those abominable creatures.”

”Hmm... This does sound like an intriguing proposal, but I assume you require more than this,” Fang Zheng contemplated.

”Indeed.”

With that, Intagura reached out her hand, took a cigar from the box on the table, lit it, took a puff, and then fixed her gaze on Fang Zheng.

”I need to know who you are and why you came here. At the very least, we must have some basic information about you.”

”Hmm...”

Faced with Intagura’s interrogation, Fang Zheng remained calm.

”About my identity? Well, that’s no secret, but even if I tell you, you’ll probably think it’s a joke or simply dismiss it as nonsense,” he replied.

”Nevertheless, we need to know,” said Intagura.

”Alright...”

Considering he would later need to receive money from her, Fang Zheng saw no benefit in souring their relations.

”I am an Abyssal Watcher from the Farron Undead Squad of Farron Fortress. My primary duty is to monitor the Abyss and eradicate various creatures that could cause trouble. As for why I’m here... well, it was purely accidental. I never intended to visit this island nation. The weather here is gloomy and damp, and it rarely stops raining...”

As Fang Zheng grumbled, the corners of Intagura’s eyes began to twitch, but she reminded herself of her dignity as the heir to the Haxin Family to restrain from acting rashly.

However, amidst Fang Zheng’s words, Intagura finally gleaned the information she wanted: ”Farron Fortress” and ”Abyssal Watcher.”

”Farron Fortress? I’ve never heard of such a place,” she said.

”Of course you haven’t. It’s located in Lothric... and that country has long been destroyed,” Fang Zheng replied, spreading his hands.

”Well, that’s all I have to say. If you agree, we can sign a contract. If not... then I’ll just leave,” he declared.

”Where do you plan to go?” she asked.

This time, Intagura spoke once more, as Fang Zheng merely shrugged.

”I don’t know either, let’s first see if there are any strong, dangerous creatures nearby that could harm humans, then let’s turn them to ash, since that’s my duty, and I need to do that now. Of course, if you try to stop me, that’s okay too, because that guy named Alucard... well...”

Burns better.

Considering the possibility of cooperation between them, Fang Zheng swallowed those last three words.

”..........”

Intagura furrowed her brow, clearly catching the unspoken implication from Fang Zheng, but what could she do? Knowing that even Alucard himself admitted he was no match for Fang Zheng, and by the looks of it, Fang Zheng was not just bluffing. On the contrary, Fang Zheng seemed quite confident that he could definitely defeat Alucard...

”Given that, cooperating with us would be an excellent choice. Our HELLSING organization is specifically responsible for eliminating those creatures that threaten human lives. I think we will have a pleasant cooperation.”

As she spoke, Intagura stood up and extended her hand to Fang Zheng. Looking at the woman before him, Fang Zheng also smiled slightly, shaking Intagura’s hand.

”Pleasant cooperation, Miss Intagura.”

For Fang Zheng, signing with HELLSING was all gain and no loss. Not only did it solve his identity problem, but he would also receive a considerable salary each month. Besides needing to keep his identity a secret externally, he was almost completely free.

However, correspondingly, there were also many troubles.

”No sooner signed than working, I’m now well aware of your English capitalists’ abilities.”

Sitting in the speeding car, Fang Zheng looked unhappily at Walter driving next to him, who responded to his complaint with a slight smile.

”I’m terribly sorry, Lord Fang Zheng, we just found another vampire trace, and there really is no time left...”

”Alright then, why don’t you let your ace handle it?”

”Hmph.”

Hearing this, Alucard, sitting in the back seat, snorted coldly.

”Don’t forget, my weapon was destroyed by you, and I currently don’t have a suitable weapon.”

”Really, you can’t fight without a gun?”

Facing Alucard’s complaint, Fang Zheng gave him a sidelong glance.

”Come on, using a sword to hack is also workable. You dare call yourself HELLSING’s ace with that attitude?”

”Ace isn’t a title I gave myself, and if you want to test my mettle, I’m certainly up for it.”

”Is that what you’re saying?”

Hearing this, Fang Zheng immediately raised an eyebrow.

”Come on, let’s find a place to stop and have a three hundred-round battle, to see just how powerful you are...”

”Lord Fang Zheng, this is a highway, we can’t stop here.”

Walter chuckled bitterly, then continued reluctantly trying to dissuade him, while Fang Zheng just shrugged.

”I know, I was just speaking figuratively. After all, we’ve signed a contract, and I do have some spirit of commitment.”

The argument ceased there, and at the same time, Walter’s driven car left the highway and turned onto a nearby side road, eventually stopping in the middle of the road.

”Right ahead, Lord Fang Zheng.”

Walter got out of the car, opened the door for Fang Zheng, and gestured towards a manor not far away.

”Just now, our intelligence team discovered two vampires disguised as a couple who infiltrated that manor, and then the manor cut off contact with the outside world...

”Really daring for them to show up in such a place so boldly.”

Fang Zheng got out of the car and glanced at the pitch-black and silent manor in the night, barely discerning the silhouette of a building under the moonlight. However, Fang Zheng could sense the stench of corpses carried by the night breeze.

”Leave it to me.”

While saying this, Fang Zheng spread his arms, and soon, blue and purple emblems lit up on the backs of his hands. Then, the black and white dual swords appeared in Fang Zheng’s hands.

Tonight, the Abyssal Watcher joins the hunt.
