Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 593: Chapter 592: The Interrupted Battle

”Aaaahhhhh!!”

Amidst the flames, Fang Zheng could clearly hear the agonizing screams of the vampire. It was to be expected, for these were not ordinary flames but Primordial Fire from the birth of the world—a type of fire even the Abyss feared, let alone this insignificant vampire!

Not only that, but as he burned this vampire, Fang Zheng was also transforming the vampire’s power into firewood and absorbing it into his Soulfire... Surprisingly, the power contained within the vampire was more immense than expected. However, soon Fang Zheng noticed that the figure struggling within the flames quickly vanished, and the next moment, the Primordial Fire in front of him dissipated into the night sky having lost its fuel.

Simultaneously, the voice of the vampire echoed in Fang Zheng’s ears once more.

”Huhuhu... this agony... this sensation as if even my body and soul are being scorched... is fantastic, truly fantastic!”

As the voice sounded, Fang Zheng quickly saw the vampire reforming not far in front of him, except this time he was no longer wearing the red coat and hat he had on before. Instead, he was clad in a black robe, and his pale face along with eyes shining red made him look much like the Grim Reaper in the darkness.

”Interesting, it’s truly fascinating. I did not expect to encounter someone like you in this era... Come at me, and let’s see how capable you really are!”

As he spoke, the vampire stretched out his hands, clad in white gloves.

”Come! Come! Come! Kill me! Like the man from five hundred years ago! Just like those people! Fight me, slay, and then claim victory!”

”Since you are sincerely begging, I shall fulfill your wish...”

Listening to the vampire’s loud shout, Fang Zheng slightly curled up the corners of his mouth, then he lifted the Greatsword in his hands.

And at that moment...

”Bang!”

Suddenly, a gunshot rang out, interrupting their battle, Fang Zheng and the vampire turned to look. They saw a woman with golden hair standing not far away, holding a gun pointed at the sky, from which faint trails of blue smoke could be seen. She was coldly watching the vampire as she spoke.

”What are you doing? Alucard, the task I assigned was to eliminate the vampires plaguing this village, not to engage in a fight with unrelated individuals!”

”Humph.......”

Hearing the woman’s words, the vampire named Alucard snorted coldly, then quickly turned away. As he did, his previous red attire reappeared on him.

”It’s rare to find an interesting opponent. Can’t you let me enjoy this a bit more, Intagura?”

”Who are you?”

The woman ignored the vampire’s complaint and looked sternly at Fang Zheng. It had to be admitted that she possessed a remarkably powerful aura; even just being under her gaze felt as sharp as an unsheathed blade. However, for Fang Zheng, such pressure was clearly ineffective.

He narrowed his eyes and turned his head to look at her.

”Isn’t it customary to give your own name before asking someone else’s, woman?”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s response, the woman’s eyebrows twitched, then she spoke.

”I am Intagura Van Bloemkhoft Wingates Haxin, Director of the Royal National Church Knights’ Hellsing Division from the United Kingdom. Who are you, why are you here, and why are you fighting Alucard?”

”My name is Fang Zheng, I’m merely a passerby,”

Fang Zheng put down the Greatsword he was holding, responding in a low voice.

”As for why I am fighting that vampire over there... The reason is simple. If I see a vampire sucking human blood, then please give me a reason not to chop off his head.”

”Hmm?”

Upon hearing this, the woman named Intagura’s expression slightly darkened, and she looked toward Alucard again.

”Alucard, what exactly is going on?”

”It’s nothing.”

Facing Alucard’s cold questioning, Intagura still appeared indifferent.

”It’s just that this time, the mission target had taken that young lady as a hostage. To complete the mission, I ended up shooting through both her and the mission target. The young lady made her own choice... It was merely a whim at the moment; I just responded to her request.”

”..........”

After hearing Alucard’s response, Intagura gazed at him, and after a long moment, she finally spoke.

”Since the mission is complete, let’s pull out and let the field forces handle the rest. Also, you over there...”

At this point, Intagura looked towards Fang Zheng.

”...I’m sorry, but you can’t leave just yet. Please put down your weapon and come with us.”

”Why?”

”There was a vampire attack here a few days ago, and as you can see, the entire village has become a haven for ghouls and vampires. It’s strange to find someone in such a place. Moreover, based on your name and attire, you don’t seem like a local. Regardless, now that you are aware of our HELLSING’s existence, we simply cannot let you leave.”

”...And if I refuse?”

”You’d better not refuse this invitation.”

Intagura lifted her head and stared coldly at Fang Zheng. Sensing Intagura’s gaze, Fang Zheng slightly smiled.

”Is that a threat? I’d actually like to see how you treat your enemies. Will you send that little bat to fight me again? I would indeed relish that...”

What Fang Zheng said was true; the ”firewood” he had just gathered from Alucard had indeed provided him with a hearty ”feast.” At this moment, Fang Zheng could feel the power of the dragon and the Zerg within him gradually awakening. Should he fight the vampire again, Fang Zheng believed it would be even easier to defeat him.

”.........”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s answer, Intagura fell silent. Although she did not witness the whole process, based on Walter’s report and what she later saw, this mysterious young man possessed considerable strength. Keep in mind that Alucard is HELLSING’s trump card, the mightiest Undead King. But even he couldn’t fully suppress this young man... Who exactly was he?

At this thought, Intagura closely examined the Undead Squad Uniform Fang Zheng was wearing. From the weapon in his hands and his attire, it was at least certain this man was not the Vatican’s pawn. However, the timing of his appearance was too suspicious, and by his looks, he clearly possessed the power to contend with vampires and ghouls—a feat no ordinary person could achieve.

He claimed he was just a passerby... but how could Intagura possibly believe such a ghost story?

”Young Lady.”

Just as the atmosphere became stagnant, suddenly, a voice emerged. Hearing this, Intagura turned around, and behind her stood the old man dressed in a Butler Uniform, her butler—Walter.

”This gentleman seems to have some misunderstandings about our HELLSING. If possible, please allow me to explain to him in detail.”

”Hmm... I’ll leave it to you.”

Although normally Intagura would force such individuals to come with her, the strength Fang Zheng had just displayed, rivaling that of Alucard, made her somewhat uncertain. As the head of the HELLSING organization, Intagura knew that there were people in this world with special powers, many of whom possessed formidable strength. If a conflict arose with them, it could lead to very unfavorable consequences.

HELLSING’s duty was to eliminate the dark creatures threatening the country, not to create enemies everywhere. Since she had spoken so definitively earlier, she could not show weakness now, so it was perfect to have her butler handle the situation.

”Yes, Young Lady.”

Upon receiving Intagura’s response, Walter smiled slightly, then he approached Fang Zheng and respectfully bowed his head.

”Mr. Fang Zheng, I am Lady Haxin’s butler, Walter. If you don’t mind, please allow me to explain the duties of our HELLSING organization to you...”

”Oh?”

Looking at the old man before him, Fang Zheng remained silent for a moment, then stowed his greatsword.

”Then please, enlighten me.”
